We rented our first flat from a different Estates agent and it was such a bad experience. nothing worked including the windows. they didn't fix it even when it was snowing outside. instead they put it up for sale and asked us to move out. This put us off renting all together, but we had to...
When we booked a viewing with a property managed by Reeds Rains we didn't expect much. From the moment we arrived at the viewing Natalie was stood outside the property waiting for us with a smile on our face. when we entered the communal area it was very clear that customer care was a high priority, as Natalie knew the other tenants by first name and made the time to stop and introduce us to our potential neighbors. She made us feel very welcome, she showed us round and left us to have a good look. she then showed us another property and let us follow her as we did not know the way. after we made our application Natalie and the other staff at Reeds Rains made sure we knew what was happening and how long it would take, frequently keeping in contact to ensure that we was in the loop. We should have used Reeds Rains the first time.
Had us stood in the rain waiting to view a flatat 11 O'Clock that had already been rented because they couldn't be bothered to ring us and tell us not to bother so went to 11.30 viewing, guy there told us he had it on his paperwork to tell us the flat we were supposed to see at 11 O'Clock had already gone!!
We bought our house in November 2016 through Hunters Bridlington. They were really helpful and we're really on the ball with keeping things moving quickly keeping on top of the solicitors.
Accepted our offer on a house and told us they wouldn't take any more viewings, we where made up as it was the house of our dreams only to receive a call later that day to tell us they let someone else view (a chain) and they put in a higher bid and they have accepted that one, in a word disgusting!
We had a previous offer rejected as we where just short of the asking price so we went away and borrowed and sold assets to be able to meet the buyers price only a week later! To be told its ours and be overjoyed then have it ripped away from us just five hours later is outrageous. It has gone to a mortgage chain rather than a young family!
This practice is scheduled to be debated in the Houses of commons and could soon be made illegal, regulation of property agents has been proposed by mp's to protect first time buyers (like us) and to also enable young people/family's (like us) to get on the property ladder. My advice would be go with and estate agent that practices a good moral code before waiting for the law to step in, the extra couple of % in commission was obviously of more importance to Hunters Estate agents than been a moral practice and shattering a young family's dreams
Simply additional viewings should have been cancelled once the offer was accepted by the seller

Was gazumped! my offer accepted cash buyer no chain. Then nearly a week later had my offer acceptance withdrawn as they had accepted another... I assume bigger offer, now its sold. Waste of time and money. Beware. don't get to excited about your dream home. They have no morals.
