I cannot recommend Redferns in Ottery St Mary highly enough, we have now bought and sold twice through them and we will not use anyone else in the future.
Their attention to detail is brilliant and more importantly they know the market place better than anyone else. Sometimes it's easy to think your house is worth more than it is (as it's your home) but having an estate agent that genuinely values your house based on market conditions is priceless and makes selling so much easier.
The team are friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble.
Communication with your estate agent is key when buying & selling. If you want an estate agent that cares, is passionate about their clients and houses whilst being honest & open then go with Redferns.
Redferns use some very debatable tactics to make it look like they have a stronghold in the property market. Houses that have been sold subject to contract are advertised as being available. When questioned about this we were told they only mark as sold once contracts have been exchanged (no point in marking it as sstc once contacts have been exchanged). Also they advised that many sales fall through, hence their reluctance to mark as sold. But no one took our details as being interested in those properties so we would never know if they did become reavailable. This happened to at least 5 properties we expressed an interest in. Clueless....
my husband and myself recently bought our first flat to rent out. We were apprehensive about it having never done it before. Connells were brilliant from the word go! We were offered friendly advise about where to buy from the rentals manager Zoe, then we were referred to Megan who took us out a lot of different options. we felt like nothing was too much trouble for them. We kept everything in house by using James to do our mortgage, he got us a fantastic deal for our mortgage and everything went through in a timely manner. As soon as it was ready to be rented Zoe made sure we found great tenants as quickly as possible. All her team were helpful and again talked us through everything. we are now looking to buy another property to rent out and even if we don't find one with Connells we will certainly continue using their services!! Very happy Landlords!
I fully agree to the comments of Tom Hughes. An absolute useless company and agents. Avoid at all cost. I bought a house advertised by this agency. There was no professionalism and at every stage, felt like dealing with BULLIES. After prolonged wait, when came the day of exchange, a set of wrong keys were handed to us at 6PM with the inmates still living in the property. Finally, it became our responsibility to chase the key and force the inmates to leave our home. The agency didnt even made a formal apology (any apology) for messing up our experience. Keep away from this agency for your own sake.
We are just about to complete on the sale of our house in Exeter with Strutt and Parker and are delighted we chose this company as our agents. There are always tricky moments selling and buying houses but the whole process has been remarkably quick and straight forward. Isabel, our agent, has been great - professional, approachable and responsive. We secured a buyer quickly and felt fully informed throughout the sale. A really good experience, thank you!
Absolutely awful customer service and response rate all the way through to completion. I would not recommend this company for any future purchases or sales.
East of Exe is the best Estate Agents that I have used. They offer the most helpful and professional service, which can be hard to find at other agencies. After past experiences, I can trust East of Exe the most as they have the best intentions and care for you as the client. I highly recommend to anyone.
An infuriating estate agent to be working with. Our letting agent was ridiculously unprofessional to the point it felt like we were dealing with a petulant child.
First I thought these people were just incompetent but the sad truth is they are also just straight up dishonest. Would not recommend
