18th Jun 2024 (6 weeks ago)Really good service. Contact with the agents was always quick and professional. The system used to verify suitability and documents was very thorough but it is nice to have everything in one place. I would definitely use them if i was a landlord.

Buying a property is always a stressful process, and ours was more challenging than most - it took much longer than anticipated and required gentle handing of the other side. But with her tenacity, patience, and political savvy, Jill helped us succeed where others had failed. We're excited to start a new chapter in the beautiful Peak District. 26th Jun 2024 (4 weeks ago)So disappointing. Started off well, then they lost staff, no contact for weeks. Couldn't get through on the phone. New starter - great promise only to be waiting weeks for any update or response to emails. They told me they were going to take steps to find a buyer and 2 weeks later told me they had employed someone else who would be taking the steps they promised to carry out 2 weeks before. No update since that of course and no response to my emails. Don't bother trying to call as you won't get through. I tried three times a day for 2 weeks, never got through and eventually gave up calling. Property initially sold quickly, buyer pulled out due to boiler issues - but I'd provided service record and evidence of minor fix needed, can't prove it of course but doubt the full information was sent across to the buyer - provided all the information and instructions to send to the buyer asap only to be asked a few days later if they were allowed to send it across. It then took them over a week to confirm the buyer had pulled out after I contacted them when the buyer's lawyer advised my lawyer after they chased for progress due to lack of response. Absolutely no movement or viewings in over 3 months but then I've only managed to speak to them once on the phone so I can only assume people wanting to book viewings are not able to get through either. Absolutely abysmal. Seem to spend all their time upselling and onboarding new properties rather than actually selling the properties they have. I'm speaking to other agents and will be getting my notice to finish my contract with them as soon as I am able. Be warned they will include a self-awarded bonus within their contracts and tie you to an initial period of 5 months advertising with them.
14th Feb 2024 (23 weeks ago)I have been trying to contact this estate agent to enquire about a property for over one and a quarter hours...no reply to my call...just an answer machine...I would be fuming if I was the vendor...very unsatisfactory... unbelievable in fact... I've been phoning on and off between 12.50 and 2.17...nothing....

23rd Apr 2024 (14 weeks ago)I tried to purchase a house in the past but I wasn't unable to, due to mortgage broker not being able to get me the funds I needed from the lender due to being employed on zero hours contract but luckily a family member who recently purchased a house using services from Bridgfords Sales and Letting Agents Buxton recommended Mortgage consultant "Kyle Burns" to me and that was the best recommendation ever because I have now purchased my first house thanks to Kyle. Kyle is my go-to person when I need help -He outperformed all other mortgage brokers. Kyle goes above and beyond. he is very friendly, supportive, professional and his knowledge is second to none. He really made the whole experience easy and stress free. He managed to find me a great mortgage deal. I would recommend Kyle to anyone wanting to buy their home. If you are reading this Kyle. I just want to say Thank you so much for your support. Ish from Suffolk :)

28th Apr 2024 (13 weeks ago)I Chose Jon Mellor Estate Agents because of their reputation in the Town - and they win awards year after year! - I can see why! - What a great team ! - They have just sold a house in Buxton for me - things were not very straightforward for various reasons, but they managed the process with great skill throughout. The advice provided before and during the sale was "Spot On" - They kept me informed at every stage and they could not have been more helpful or supportive. Just the right balance of friendly yet professional advice - I would recommend them to anyone - A*****

They have worked with us to adjust the valuation and how the property is advertised and once we had an offer that we were willing to accept, we have been impressed at the professionalism of ensuring our buyers are in the position they claimed before proceeding.

Not once have I felt that they are too busy to deal with you and they always have helped out with whatever it may be. The staff there are very friendly and helpful.
18th Mar 2024 (19 weeks ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

Denise, Steph, Ella and Dani were amazing from the start. Always there to answer and help with any questions I had. Seeing as I was selling this property on my own. Can’t thank the team enough! I even remember telling Dani to pour herself a glass of Prosecco one evening for helping me with something I was stuck with! Thank you too all x x
