30th Mar 2023 (3 years ago)Signed for a no fee deal including legal fees. Paid £200 up front. The buyer of my property dragged on for months resulting in me losing my house purchase. Dowena then refused to pay the legal fees despite the agreement costing me over £400 in fees for nothing. Very immoral company.
2nd Mar 2019 (7 years ago)We are student at Durham University and we decided to rent a house. I called the estate agent and they agreed to send us the agreement and everything to rent this one house that we really liked. We were supposed to arrive a week later to submit the forms and pay deposit. When I got the papers, they confirmed with us that the house would be definitely be reserved for us. However, the morning we were supposed to hand in the papers, I got a short, badly articulated email saying that the property was no longer available and that we should look somewhere else. No explanation, nothing. We were angry because student accommodation is competitive and we lost so much time waiting for this house. Upon emailing them multiple times, they finally said that the previous tenants decided to stay for another year. Didn’t they confirm with the current tenants that they would be moving out? Why would they even list the house if that was an option? .Why send us the agreements and everything? They didn’t even bother trying to find us other options that we could stay at instead. All and all, I would never use this agent again because their service is absolutely terrible

21st Aug 2023 (2 years ago)Jools was so helpful, she knew everything about the area, she took the most amazing pictures and marketed the house in a way that almost made me want to buy it! From knowing about the benefits of the kind of windows we had to knowing the direction the garden and the way lighting would change through the day. Everything! You'd think it was her house the way she spoke about it. She was amazing. And on top of all that, the most genuinely nice and helpful person. I couldn't have wished for anyone nicer to help us with the sale. We had previously spoken to other estate agents but Jools just put us totally at ease and made it so much less stressful than we ever thought it could be. I can't thank her and her team enough!

30th Oct 2023 (2 years ago)Tenants Avoid. We didn’t even make the end of our 1yr tenancy. Issues with damp in the property took ages to resolve, property was frozen during cost of living. No sympathy from anyone at HP, people who came to look at damp were rude and condescending. Genuinely made me wonder why I was paying rent if none of that money can be used to make properties habitable. If you’re smart enough to look at reviews before signing the tenancy, you’re smart enough to reconsider. Wish we had.

14th Apr 2026 (17 days ago)If you are a tenant with this company, then be on your guard, as operate a very underhand business. I was given a section 21 after living at the property for 18 years and did everything in my power to move as quickly as possible. I kept them fully informed of all I was doing to move, so the landlord didn't have to incur extra court fees also. The thanks I got for this was them trying to take my bond!!! Tried to say I owed rent, which I didn't and they rectified this but then wanted money to clean a broken extractor fan and oven that was gifted to me by previous landlord. Catherine originally told me not to worry as all would be wear and tear. This was not the case. The minute I moved out (in a hurry as they requested) I was then slapped with a bill for oven cleaning, rent owed etc. If you are a tenant and receive a section 21, then don't help them, as they don't appreciate anything you do! The thanks you will get is them trying to take your bond! Despicable behaviour!

Michael kept in touch every step of the way he arranged all the viewings and there was nothing for us to stress about.
