The costs were clearly communicated from the outset which wasn’t the case with some other agencies we contacted. Communication was excellent and they handled all negotiations well. We were kept well informed as the sale progressed. We would have no hesitation in recommending them.

18th May 2023 (1 year ago)Huge thank you to Jeanette snd Mary who helped with the purchase of our new home. It was quite stressful for us at times and we had a few (a lot!) bumps in the road. We were very dependent on the team especially towards the end of the buying process for many reasons. I truly believe without their help on an almost daily basis we would still be waiting for the sale to have been finalised. We are now 4 weeks in our new home and are so happy. The stress long forgotten. The team are Very professional, very “on it” and also want to do the best for the buyer. Thank you all.

From sale and purchase through to completion they were professional, knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. Tess in particular handled our sale/purchase progression and was, without doubt, the most helpful and competent person we dealt with throughout any of the transactions. On so many occasions her knowledge helped us to keep the transactions progressing. She recognised our situation and did absolutely everything she could, going above and beyond, to support us at a very stressful time. Thanks very much!

They were extremely professional and very supportive, particularly during viewings. Once an offer had been made, they worked tirelessly in the background with the other agents and solicitors in the very long chain to keep things moving. They were extremely communicative and quick to respond to our enquires. If you’re selling your house, I couldn’t recommend Tim Russ highly enough.

They moved me into a flat with no working plumbing which they knew prior to the start date but neglected to tell me, they ignore emails and texts, their staff gaslight you, they turn up at your home unannounced sometimes letting themselves in and I don't think I've been treated this badly by a company ever. Do yourself a favour and deal with landlords directly. This company is not worth the premium you and the landlord have to pay and they cause more issues than they solve.
11th Oct 2024 (11 days ago)We recently completed on a property on the 20/09/2024 after putting offer in, in May and nothing was too big for Aidan or Julie. If we had any questions, they always were answered and super friendly making the process of buying our first home easy. Once we completed, we got sent a lovely little hand painted drawing of our house which was such a personalised experience for us, and something we will keep forever!

18th Mar 2024 (7 mo. ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

25th Sep 2024 (27 days ago)Absolutely appalling estate agents. We were trying to buy a property which was on their books. During the course of our dealings with them, calls were never returned, they told lies, they were clearly too busy or could not be bothered to deal with us and they completely failed to keep their client informed. I have worked with many estate agents over my 30 year career as a property lawyer and I have never encountered such incompetence and rudeness. I could leave a litany of their failures, but suffice to say despite thinking I had found my dream property, I ended up pulling out. I would not even view a property now if it was on their books.
