13/10/2024 I am not sure what has happened to MD, but it seems selling a house via this agent is frustrating, there simply isn’t any pro activeness, it’s all reactive and lack communication. You have to chase them to find out what’s going on and how far the sale has progressed. And when you chase they react by saying let me look into that and come back, they should be on top of each sell, not let me find out which them seem to take days Clearly standard have dropped. Years ago they would actively sort things out. Background- Currently selling my house via this agent, they found a buyer within 4 weeks ie in July this year, however, so far lost about another 4 weeks just waiting on information for buyers solicitors from this agent. I was told they had id check delays, then told just an admin issue not a buyer issue. Memos have been requested. and then told It is our extra id checks that takes a little while with credas. etc. All this took 4 plus weeks. mean time we waited for buyers solicitors, and finally they came back and said they had not been instructed by this buyer. When Agent tried contact then no answer, the agent could not get hold of this buyer, so started the whole process again. Was advise best to put the house back on the market. luckily we found a second buyer mid Aug, however, its now been 8 weeks, and the progression of the sale is at best slow, I have to keep chasing the agent to find out what is going on, and that itself losses days and they do not seem on top of what is going on, "let me find out" seem to be the phase they use. Surly its in their interest to be on top of each sale and move it forward.... Read more

We purchased a property through Austin & Wyatt and from the initial inquiry to picking up the keys we received excellent communication (with us and the Estate Agent selling our property etc.) and service. I know that it is a whole team effort to market and sell a property but would like to single out Madeleine for her professionalism and commitment when the problems cropped up (which they do). We chose Spencers because we liked their more engaging and less ‘hard sales’ but still highly professional approach. Also, when searching for the right agent, we were advised by many, that our property would likely be attractive to the London market. Spencer’s offered the benefits of a London office and this helped facilitate potential buyers looking to relocate. We found the marketing materials produced to accompany the sale of high quality and this was supported by their social media activity. Our selling journey hasn’t been without its challenges. Pretty stressful at times but we believe Spencer’s tenacity and less aggressive approach, have been contributory to reaching a positive conclusion in the end. We were fortunate enough to achieve within 3% of our guide price, which in the current housing market, we were more than happy with. Particularly thankful to Jack, for bearing with us and the difficult conversations he had to deal with. Spencer's maintained an excellent partnership throughout each n every enquiry from commications to negotiations to finalising Exchange and Completion dates. Losing the first chain to a developer pulling out at the exchange jaws was a setback but did not reduce the optimism of the Spencer's team if Mark, Will, Matt, Abigail and Christy. The market experienced a slight reduction at this time with a slowing of demand so we reviewed our sales strategies and felt a price reduction was necessary. Terrible service, from people who are not attentive and do not care. had to sell the house privately and then then went legal for a fee they did not earn, as they had taken the house off rightmove etc and did not keep in contact with the buyer, lawyers or anyone. No idea how this estate agent sells houses or if they only earmark properties they post for specific clients/buyers already known to the business. Very oddly run, you phone up and are put through to an admin team of sorts, never an agent. They will take your details and say they will pass it onto the agent who will allegedly phone you themselves, they won’t give you the agents details either so you have to just wait for this call. It’s been just over a week of me trying to view a particular property, phoned in multiple times to no avail. - Update, if you find out who the agent dealing with the property is, you can try find their contact details on the actual website, the lady I dealt with was actually sound & treated me the way I’d expect to be, like 90% of other estate agent companies would’ve....
