Boydens - Colchester

57-59 Crouch Street, Colchester

Boydens have been my agents for over 15 years as a Landlord, and I've been very happy with the service received from all staff I have dealt with over that time. Any issue I've raised has been responded to positively and usually resolved quickly. There may have been a few requested items missed over the years, but these have always been minor; anything important is given the attention it needs. As a landlord (and at times, one who was overseas), it has made for an easy life, knowing that the teams will deal with finding me tenants, engagement of contractors for maintenance, and deal with these issues on my behalf, or the niggles I have raised. Given this history, I have also recently engaged Boydens for a property sale, and was happy to find a similar high level of service, support, and attention. My thanks go to all who I have dealt with.

If I could rate less than 1 star I would. Worst experience ever with this company. Completely unprofessional, terrible service and absolutely no care for customers that are letting properties. Would avoid this place at ALL costs.

Palmer & Partners - Colchester

10 St Johns Street, Colchester

Have recently let a property from Palmer and Partners and from day one of initial application of the property to now nearly 2 weeks in our new home, the service has been outstanding! Few littles things that needed doing to the property and have been sorted very quickly and efficiently. Always only an email away and always helpful with anything that has needed doing. Very very happy and would recommend Palmer and Partners to anyone.

This company have knocked on our door asking to market our property on several occassions. Fed up of being disturbed by them with a young baby in the house.

Saxons Estate Agents - Colchester

106 High Street,Colchester

I recently purchased my first house through Saxons. It was a probate property so we had a lot of professionals inspect the wiring, boiler and asbestos etc as part of our survey recommendations. Saxons were helpful and efficient in organising these appointments, nothing was too much trouble! I would definitely recommend saxons

Please DO NOT waste your time with the deceitful, awful people. These people will tell you anything to get you to sign, once you have signed that's it they've got you and will tell you that they didn't agree to any of i because it was not officially written down. My flat mates and i got a house through these people in January, broke up for summer only to be told that the "landlord pulled out" and only had a couple of weeks to find a new property. When we returned and managed to find a house on the same road as the previous house (through a different agency) we found out that they had just moved different students in. The new students are international student i presume this is why they chose them, as they are easier to manipulate. All staff are EXTREMELY rude ESPECIALLY DAN. Please do not waste your time with this company.

William H Brown - Harwich Dovercourt

280/282 High Street, Dovercourt

We are very grateful to David Coates whose experience and conveyancing knowledge were instrumental in facilitating the exchange on a relatively long chain that we were in. Despite him not being our agent ( David was in fact acting for a seller at the start of the chain) he was always willing to help during what had been a tricky legal process during the exchange, with a professional and 'can-do' attitude. Would therefore highly recommend him and his colleagues Bradley and Michelle.

BE VERY CAREFUL. Don't just take my word, do your own homework first....... Trustpilot = BAD https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/williamhbrown.co.uk?fbclid=IwAR2C-fsJiknV3YVuNyCL5Imj0rODUaMfbrikRnZFAC8vdw_r7j7x7Erko94 The stress and hassle this company are causing me is beyond a joke, been out of contract over 6 months & give them a chance. to be treated this way at the end, Oh and im Best part of £2.5k out of pocket for playing there merry little games. Never had an experience like it in my life, For some reason they are dragging heels causing as much undue stress as they can. I really would think twice before signing up, as you will find yourself in maybe the same situation Currently under review by the property ombudsman.

I cannot fault the service from the guys at Abbotts. Manager Jordan guided me through everything in layman's terms rather than marketing spiel - for which I am very grateful. Thank you for everything! Georgie.

Georgiana Foster

I would advise never to use this effort of a company. They failed to protect me from bad tenents and costing me over £2000 in lost rent inspection of property not regular failing to add requested protections one star is an exaggeration. Should be - 5 stars

Kingsleigh Residential

3 The High Street, Dedham, Colchester

Can’t speak highly enough of Peter and his team at Kingsleigh. They made the process of us buying our house a really pleasant experience and were the perfect balance of friendly and professional. We’d use them again were it not for the fact that they helped us secure our dream home- we won’t be moving any time soon! Thank you so much guys. Really appreciate all your hard work

Chillel Williams

My experience as a landlord with Kingsleigh estates has been shocking, I would advise every landlord to avoid them. Kingsleigh was given the opportunity to advertise my property on a finders fee basis only, 3 men viewed and wanted the property. Kingsleigh then started to ask for further fees additional to those agreed and signed for. I refused to pay anything further. They wanted to see the contract I was due to issue, which was emailed across, I had missed a clause in the contract which is no longer applicable due to changes in the law. I said shall edit it or do you want to amend for quickness. The reply was we prefer to use our own contract. (Btw this is a standard contract pulled from a landlord insurance site). Oh even told what deposit scheme to use ! I had HMRC compliancy laws mentioned and fines, which is ridiculous considering it is a finders fee, they have my name, home address, proof of I.D. ( which covered their compliance). It was scare tactics to gain a further fee. I'm so annoyed I have turned away prospective tenants because I thought the property had tenants secured. Did the tenants even exist? Those poor guys will think I left them high and dry. When the paperwork was signed and it was time for the details to be handed over why try and get more money out of the landlord? Like most landlords we are busy people and need professional services carry out the instructions given and agreed upon. There is no time to read emails talking waffle. Not all landlords are rogue, the majority are normal busy working people trying to rent their property, they comply to all legislation, compliance and are educated enough to understand what is required. Unprofessionalism at its finest An so the saga continues, how can you believe you are acting professionally. You are still saying half truths. You are the ones who cold contacted me, email after email soliciting my business. (Update) This is my daughters account I (Tracy Harvey) I do not have a google account I should of mentioned. The hipocrisy of your reply is astounding, have you no shame ! I have uploaded the conversation photos, not once did you say the contract would be supplied in the original quoted fee until you were walking away (photo 3). Instead you were trying to charge further fees. (photo 2). Photo 1 is the original quote which conicidently did not mention £350 + Vat but I let that slide. I can put the entire dialogue up if needed! My contract did have a mistake in it, after taking the time to edit the original document it looks like I sent you the incorrect one. Silly mistake which could of been easily rectified, I told you I was in meetings all day and would correct it at lunch, it was the only gap I had, I offered you the chance to remove the clauses your end to speed up the process. The easiest answer would of been yes ok, change it and send it straight back at lunch time. SORTED. One simple reply !! Or I will delete the clauses and arrange the holding deposit promptly. My replies were in the back of a half read emails with me saying to you I want this completed that day as I have other interested parties. Why was that so difficult, I reiterate, did the tenants actually exist? Was a spun a merry dance? I believe so. It is a shame one member of staff is tainting the rest. Why have staff like this who do not know when to keep quiet.

GetAgent makes finding an estate agent easier.

Very helpful in arranging for 3 agents to come around and put their pitch for marketing our property. Having them as an intermediary made the process...

A very good comparison website

A very good comparison website for checking local estate agencies. We used it to check who have sold the most in our area and the results were very useful to us.

It really helped my decision making

There are so many estate agents to choose from but they provided details with the numbers of houses each had sold in my area and which had achieved the asking price which I found most helpful

Mrs Heather Marshall

Choose the right agent for your house.

An amazingly easy way to choose your estate agent with total confidence. I did and among the many found the right one for my house. Speedy, responsive, considerate and effective. Thank you.
