This was a particularly difficult and emotional time, and the team at Tempo Estates were consistently sympathetic, patient, and supportive throughout the entire process. They guided me clearly through each stage of the sale, explaining everything in an easy-to-understand way and ensuring I always knew what to expect. By managing the process so professionally and proactively, they removed a great deal of the stress and hassle that would otherwise have been involved. Their communication was excellent, and they handled the sale with genuine care, sensitivity, and respect for the circumstances. I am extremely grateful for the support provided and feel the level of service went above and beyond what would normally be expected, which is why I believe this exception is fully justified.
24th Dec 2025 (7 weeks ago)Not all estate agents are the same and we would thoroughly recommend Williams of Wootton. We decided to move pretty much on spur of the moment, just time for a change really and didn’t look too much into all the inevitable complexities. Having narrowed our choice to just two properties we started the buying process and the experience could not have been further apart re the two Estate Agents we dealt with. There was no pressure (or ‘exaggerations’) with Williams, just straight forward help and advice. Everyone in the team were professional, friendly and efficient. In fact with the help of Jon, Ben and Sarah the whole buying process took us just under two months. We weren’t bombarded with phone calls or rushed into anything which is a far cry from previous purchases and sales. We were so impressed that we didn’t hesitate to have Williams sell our old property once we had moved. We wanted our buyers to have the same experience we had as purchasers and Williams didn’t disappoint. Another thing we liked were the associated charges, no shifty ‘ID Check’ charges when buying (with one local Agency demanding £80 up front for this) and very clear fee structure when selling. Buying and selling can be very stressful so having an Agency that removes so much of that stress is priceless.

Since the start of our journey Ross has been professional yet kind and very understanding towards us for which we are very grateful. 24th Jan 2026 (19 days ago)Have been looking to buy a property for a while and find that a lot of properties are listed by Watson bull and porter. It’s been difficult to say the least with a previous negative experience with the Newport branch I spoke to an agent at the ryde branch and was thinking things might be different. I had a viewing today at 9am but to no avail for the second time viewing a house under this estate agents the property had an offer and was no longer taking viewings, leaving me sat outside looking like a lemon. I received a text message the day prior to contact the estate agent about the viewing which I did do, I was informed of a call back as the person I spoke to didn’t know anything about it. Nothing stipulated it was cancelled which would of just resolved the whole issue entirely. After calling the agent this morning, I was informed that they “called” my partners phone and left a text informing us that the booking was cancelled. Neither is true as I’ve been through the call logs so to be outright lied to is just disappointing, accountability is a huge thing in my eyes. my accountability is I should of known from my previous experience with this estate agent is I should kept calling as they’re as useful as a chocolate tea pot when it comes to informing people of anything. It fills me with worry that a large portion of properties I want to view and potentially buy are listed by Watson bull and porter and yet getting any form of service is just impossible. Any emails sent for viewings seem to never result in a call back. Maybe I’m just black listed but as a whole they are dismissive, inattentive and lack communication within their branches, they preach better deals but I’d always pay out a bit more to receive a good level of service and actually feel valued. I’d be worried if these were selling my home.

13th May 2021 (4 years ago)Nice to see how the other half live, Cowes on the Isle of Wight is a lovely seaside town with great and interesting shopping lanes olde world and ultra modern all mixed together, perfect especially if you like boats and great food.

From the very first contact Simon, Rachael and their team have been excellent - complete professionals, incredibly capable, experienced and friendly. They did a brilliant job - transparent communication, no stress, no fuss - I felt 100% confident at every stage. We sold quickly in a challenging market - wonderful people, highly recommended.

3rd Oct 2024 (1 year ago)Higher end buyers beware! Do not use Spence Willard Bembridge unless you want to be thousands of pounds out of pocket and filled with heartache. We were led down the rose-coloured path and assured by Sam Branston that we were on target for completion, only to find the buyers were secretly accepting another offer. Sellers – do not list with Spence Willard as we sadly will not view your property. We are 1.5+ million cash buyers.

27th Jan 2026 (16 days ago)We were greatly disappointed as a potential buyer dealing with this estate agent. We had travelled some 60 miles and taken a ferry to the Isle of Wight to view a property in Newport. We had booked an appointment for 2pm. We arrived at 2:10pm. Without any courtesy call or email to chase on our whereabouts (we were delayed by the ferry - and the agent Laura knew we were on the mainland) I had to call her five times at which point she told me she left the property as she had another appointment. She was rude, offered no alternative appointment and appeared just not to care. Clearly had a higher commission viewing elsewhere.

15th Jul 2025 (6 mo. ago)Overpromised, Underperformed and Untrustworthy – My Costly Mistake with HSD I initially listed my property with PurpleBricks in March 2025 for £535,000. After limited viewings over a three-month period, I began exploring other options and submitted an enquiry to WeBuyAnyHouse. They quickly came back with an offer of £460,000—roughly 14% below asking—claiming it would allow for a quick sale. I immediately declined, as I was not in a rush and didn’t want to take such a significant loss. Shortly after, my details were apparently passed on to House Sales Direct (HSD), seemingly a sister company, without my explicit consent. HSD came across as professional and engaging at first. They promised a 98% success rate in selling properties within 28 days, citing a strong network of pre-approved buyers and investors who could complete within 6–8 weeks. They suggested a sale price spread of £510k–£535k, assuring me they would work to get me the best price possible. It sounded promising. Based on these assurances, I decided to proceed with HSD. I withdrew my PurpleBricks listing—costing me £300—with the understanding that HSD’s investor network would accelerate the sale. But things quickly began to unravel. Despite supposedly having investors lined up, HSD said they needed to relist my property on Rightmove first. When I questioned why investors couldn’t simply view the home, the response was vague. It took nearly two weeks for them to relist, and the new asking price was £525,000. A full week passed without any communication. Then came a call recommending the price be dropped to £499,000. I was told this was “just a marketing tactic,” and that they still aimed to get me a sale within the original £510k–£535k range. But I struggled to understand how listing a property nearly £40,000 lower would achieve that. I asked again about the investors. They finally admitted the only offer received was the same £460k I'd declined weeks earlier through WeBuyAnyHouse. This was when the red flags really began to show. Why wasn’t I told this upfront? Why present an optimistic price range if their investor offer was fixed at £460k from the beginning? Why was I encouraged to pull the property from PurpleBricks if they intended to rely on the open market anyway? I could have just reduced the price there and avoided unnecessary costs and delays. Doing more research online, I found stories from others with eerily similar experiences. It appeared HSD’s real model was to attract sellers with high expectations and then drop the price, relying on open-market tactics to force a quick sale. Despite claiming not to charge commission, they would never clearly explain how they made their money. It seems they may be negotiating higher prices with buyers while offering sellers less—profiting off the gap. No transparency, no trust. Meanwhile, they knew I was paying a high mortgage on an empty property. It became clear they were hoping I’d become desperate enough to accept the same low £460k offer I had already rejected twice. In the four weeks my property was listed with them, only four viewings were arranged. Two were no-shows. Of the remaining two, one viewer stayed for just five minutes—asked no questions and didn’t even view all the rooms. It felt performative, not serious. As expected, neither viewer submitted an offer, despite supposedly being “pre-qualified and keen.” Eventually, I told HSD I wanted to withdraw the property. That’s when I was informed—shockingly—that I had unknowingly signed up for a 52-week contract, and I’d need to pay £1,500 to exit, or £999 if paid within 7 days. I wrote to them, acknowledged that they had done some work, and offered a reasonable £699 exit fee, explaining I needed to rent the home out due to financial strain. They refused and insisted on full payment. I paid the £999 immediately—but it still took a full week and several chasers before they finally removed the property from Rightmove. By the end of the ordeal, it was clear I was no longer a priority for them. In summary: Do I regret choosing HSD? Absolutely. Would I recommend them to someone looking for a fair, transparent, and professional house sale experience? No. If your only goal is to sell quickly and you don’t care about value, they might work for you. But if you want to sell your home at a decent price with a partner you can trust, I strongly advise staying away from HSD.
