10th Apr 2026 (24 days ago)Things were perfectly fine at the start, but the tone shifted quite noticeably by the end. Once I handed in my notice, it felt like I was just something to move along quickly, simply because I was no longer a customer. The end of the tenancy came across as rushed and a bit impersonal, which made an already stressful process more so than it needed to be, and ultimately ruined what had otherwise been a good experience renting with them. Overall, not the best - but glad that's no longer something I have to deal with.

Madeline in sales was really helpful and professional in arranging viewings on several properties and getting our sale arranged, thank you! But I must say without the help and support from Jessica in Sales Progression we wouldn't be in our new home. We encountered more than a few hurdles on our journey, and her help and expertise were invaluable! She was absolutely fantastic, there was nothing she would stop at in order to get us and our entire chain moving. Without her proactive approach I genuinely think this chain would've collapsed at the final hurdle. We can't thank her enough for all she did for us. We will absolutely be recommending John German to anyone wanting to buy/sell/let in future! Thank you so much

Naomi particularly was great as she helped get the completion date over the line as there were some slight issues on the sellers side but it was a success. Great communication from the team and really helpful! Thanks again
4th Apr 2026 (30 days ago)I have just sold my house with the fabulous Swadlincote Team. From start to finish they have been professional, friendly, approachable and so helpful. I have no hesitation in recommending them. Special thanks to Anne, Terry and most of all Lynne, who has been so brilliant at keeping me up to date with how the sale was progressing. I accepted an offer on 2nd February and my house was completed on 2nd April !!! All thanks to Your Move.- 20th Mar 2026 (6 weeks ago)Upon making the huge decision to sell our family home we contacted a local estate agent in Tamworth who were useless. They over priced our house so that all the properties around ours were selling but not ours, they didn't market the sale enough or keep in touch with us. Then we found Bairstow Eves !!! My word what a difference from day one !!!! All the staff are incredible, I can't recommend them enough! But it was Kelly who blew me away , she was totally on the ball absolutely 100% committed to selling our house and always updating us regularly on the journey. Kelly activity sought out buyers & she had more viewers attend our house in one week than the previous estate agent had in 3 months. Kelly was on hand all the time for calls & responded to emails immediately. Kelly went above and beyond to reassure us and smooth the journey, being professional & friendly at all times . It's a big deal to sell a house, with all the legal procedures & processes but Kelly and all the staff at Bairstow Eves were there all the way to the last minute. Fantastic service. Thankyou.

18th Mar 2024 (2 years ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!
25th Nov 2025 (23 weeks ago)It’s really important to find an estate agent that can market, generate interest and ultimately get that sale you are wanting and Alexander’s can do this. What most people forget about is the process from accepting that offer to completion day, which can be a long time, in a long chain, with long delays from various solicitors and issues that arise. Molly Mcbride at Alexander’s is extremely tenacious, educated and has your back all the way to the finish line. She single handedly progressed our whole chain, constantly chasing up and down, jumping over every hurdle and there was a few! Had we chosen another estate agent I would still be waiting to exchange, it’s opened my eyes into how important it is to make sure you instruct the right estate agent with the right people. Thank you so much Molly!
18th Apr 2026 (16 days ago)We’ve just moved in to our house that we bought through Wilkins. We had a really positive experience, the whole team were friendly and professional. A big thanks to Ben who showed us around a couple of properties and was always knowledgeable and helpful. We didn’t actually want to view the property we bought initially, but Ben insisted it ticked a lot of our boxes and wouldn’t take no for an answer - and we’re glad he didn’t as we loved it and offered that day. A great salesman but not in a pushy way, if we were to sell I’d choose Ben as I know he’d be proactive in selling our house. Also a massive thanks to Jade who dealt with the sales progression. Although we never met, she was always friendly, on hand to help and kept us up to date all the way through the process. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Wilkins to buy or sell through.
22nd Apr 2026 (12 days ago)I have only good words to say about the team at Bayzos. My experience was so much better than I’ve had previous with other agents. Bayzos appear to have thought about what the customer wants and needs and have done everything they can to make it happen. From the initial contact, valuation and advice on what I could do to add to the appeal of the house - thanks James, to the viewings arranged and managed by Leah - immediate comms and feedback on WhatsApp made me feel completely confident in the process. Then support from Jack and also the constant comms and pushing from sales progression team Karen and Michelle. I’ve probably forgotten someone! Seamless and professional but also personal. Thank you!

Will kept us up to date with any offers and viewings, and gave great insight into final offers which enabled us to make an informed decision for final sale. Sam was amazing at showing viewings round, great local knowledge and really listened about specific house details. Overall the whole team have been wonderful and cannot fault their knowledge, listing or communication. Wonderful experience, would highly recommend

15th Apr 2026 (19 days ago)if i could rate 0 stars i would. communication is non existent until you have to go into the branch and speak to somebody in person. they have no problem reaching out when they want money though. staff are passive aggressive, condescending, and speak down on you just because you are a student. the whole "joint tenancy" contract is a complete exploitation of students and the agency refuses to help when there are any issues regarding lousy tenants, their morals and ethics are nowhere to be seen. there were several occasions where staff and handymen turned up to the property with no notice at all. this letting agency is nothing but money hungry. at the end of my tenancy i am being charged for £50 to remove a bag of rubbish, £50 to slide the tv back into its bracket on the wall, £55 to replace "mattress protectors" on the beds which were never even there in the first place when i moved in, £275 for a "deep carpet refresh" even though when i moved in the carpets were completely soiled and ridden with stains; they obviously charged the previous tenants the same carpet refresh, just to not even do it. when you eventually do get an answer from somebody at the agency, you will be told one thing only to be told another thing by somebody else when you contact again. not only is there no communication between yourself and the agency, there is no communication amongst them either. this letting agency is exploitative, money hungry, careless, and contradictory. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! EDIT: I have had the displeasure of renting with John Shepherd for the second year running, what a huge mistake. I don't know why I chose to rent with them again in the first place. Nothing has changed, communication is non existent unless the agency want to contact you regarding money. When you call you are told to put it in writing on an email only for it to never get addressed. When we first moved into this property, we didn't have working water for a whole week, meaning we weren't able to shower properly and having to literally fill up bowls and tip it over ourselves like we were living in poverty. We were told we would receive compensation for this, 8 months later and we've still received nothing despite contacting on several occasions. Before we moved into the property we asked for the garden to be cleared and surprisingly it was, however the 10 black bags of rubbish from this have been left in our garden for the duration of our tenancy again despite contacting on several occasions. We have had MULTIPLE contractors turn up at the property without a 24 hour warning, which is illegal by the way. I just know at the end of the tenancy they will also deduct extortionate amounts from the deposit with no good reason, the same way they did in my last tenancy. The way they treat tenants is honestly disgusting and their attentiveness to correct issues and upstand the law is non existent. If I could urge you to do one thing it's to stay away from this letting agency. I'm convinced all the good reviews are from either people they've paid or people working in the agency under a fake name.
