if you are a landlord I would strongly suggest that you DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - I run a property maintenance company and this agency is demanding 10% plus vat of all work we would be doing - and yet they are not prepared to offer us a vat receipt for the commissions they want - so they are basically charging the landlords one price and taken part of the invoice money - which in turn would mean contractors having to inflate there costs to cover the ,money the agency is wanting - and in turn the landlords paying more -.. it is also potential VAT fraud....

below is a direct copy of email I received from them demanding money

Dear Stephen,

Thanks for your recent email.

We are currently updating our approved contractors database, for our on-going property and block management services.

In order for your company to join Ashley Milton’s approved contractors we will need a copy of your Public Liability Cover and any other relevant certificates you hold.

As an Ashley Milton Approved Contactor we charge 10% plus VAT for any jobs undertaken (over £100) on our behalf or referred to by Ashley Milton to a third party. Please confirm you agree and we will add you to our approved contractors and start referring jobs to you.

In common with the majority of property managing agents we simply deduct 10% plus VAT from invoice that we receive from contractors on our approved panel. This is irrespective of the amount and avoids the need for us to issue you with a separate invoice.
