Barrington & Company have a well earned right to be the No 1 Estate Agent in Petworth, surrounding areas and West Sussex.
Nigel expertly helped us find the perfect purchaser for a remote farm house with 27 acres of land. Despite a generally sluggish market he created allot of interest and offers culminating in a winning asking price offer.
The service didn't end there because Nigel was on hand to guide both parties through the sale process to a conclusion that left everyone very happy - not an easy task.
I recommend Barrington & Co and know that the service and property skills they provide their Clients will be rewarded.

Me and my partner recently inquired after a rental property. During the first phonecall we were told the property would be open for viewing in a few weeks and so we agreed to call again on another day. We decided to call again only two days later in the event that something had changed and sure enough we were given a viewing appointment that weekend. At the viewing we were greeted by Tim the owner of the agency and the viewing went very well. At the end we expressed our interest in renting the property and asked what to do next, we were told to call and or email vicky who handles the rentals and proceed with her from there. Before even leaving the property an email was sent to vicky asking to proceed with the lease. We didnt expect to hear anything until monday, the next correspondence was when we phoned on monday and we were told that there was another party interested and that they had to deliberate and tim would make the final decision and we would be contacted later that day. After waiting all day we decided to call the agency an hour before closure only to be told that they had chosen another tenant. I understand that these things happen in the property world however I believe the way it was handled was very unprofessional and caused us to be very disappointed after being built up at the viewing by the owner of the agency himself. I hope in future they handle their possible tenants a little more professionally and learn that transparency is a very good way to do business.

Tim and Nigel provided invaluable advice and assistance in getting my relative's house ready for sale. Nothing was too much trouble, even having to work within the confines of a pandemic and us not being local. They were pro-active and communicated promptly, dealing with prospective purchasers effectively and achieved a quick sale. Good old-fashioned service, which we would highly recommend.

Difficult deciding from four estate agents we had approached. Sale was agreed before going on open market, Tim and Nigel were available to advise and help progress things at all times and it was helpful them being very local in the centre of Petworth. We happily recommend Barringtons, and are delighted with the appreciative buyers, taking on our lovely property with so many memories.

Barringtons were a brilliant letting agent for us for over 15 years. Very smoothly run by Vicky. When the time came to sell the service couldn't have been any better and the house sold in no time. Great personal attention from both Nigel and Tim. Can't recommend them enough.

One word to describe the service we have had from Barrington & Company – brilliant!
Our house has taken 10 years to sell and we have used almost every well known multi branch estate agency. However for the past few years Nigel Clements at Barrington’s has been looking after us and despite being a small independent agency they have produced far more viewers for our property than we ever had through the larger agencies. Their service was second to none and they couldn’t have looked after us better. Nigel is full of integrity, honest and very courteous and we feel that his personality and drive was a major factor in the sale of our house. We therefore thoroughly recommend Barrington & Company.

I have known the Company for several years, because their letting department dealt with my tenants, and have always found them courteous to deal with, honest and tremendously helpful. When it came to selling one of my properties I automatically chose them. It was never going to be an easy sale as I wished to retain the garden, however they succeeded! They were realistic about its pricing ( of course I would have liked more!) and dealt with some tricky customers (who wanted the property for considerably less!) but kept me informed at all stages and took a great deal of the pressure off me. A small long established firm in Petworth, who know the area extremely well and have a reputation for honesty and integrity.

They were interested as long as they thought it was in there interests... but failed to contact us (even when they had promised) when there was an issue..
I wouldn't recommend them as a letting agent
