My family have been connected with a house in Tankerton since the late 1800s and have owned it, through 3 generations, since 1945. Rather reluctantly we had taken the decision to sell it and requested quotations from several local Estate Agents. Christopher Hodgson provided the highest quote so we visited them and were struck immediately by the sheer professionalism of the firm led from the front by Will Raolfe. He was knowledgeable, approachable and responded to any queries we had quickly and efficiently. He was instrumental in driving the whole process forward and was constantly in touch with both sets of solicitors. Whenever I was worried about any aspect of the sale he was able to provide sensible and helpful advice. Without this I am sure we would have not achieved the result that we did. I should add that every member of his staff with whom we had dealings acted in a friendly and helpful manner and I felt that we really were in the hands of a truly excellent company. I can recommend Christopher Hodgson without hesitation.

I've had a disappointing experience with a below-standard estate agent who seems unwilling to accommodate meetings. They consistently fail to return calls, and trying to book appointments to see a property with a 5 days' notice feels too late, let alone arranging viewings for the next or same day, which invariably gets a 'no' without even checking with the vendor. The attitude seems presumptive, judging affordability based on my stated budget rather than my actual capacity to spend, leading to the refusal to arrange two viewings. This is frustrating as I am prepared to invest significantly more for the right property. Unlike their competitors, all staff members I interacted with at this agency were notably unhelpful. My engagements with other agencies in Whitstable have been overwhelmingly positive by comparison. A word of caution to sellers considering this route - based on my experience, if you're looking for an agency committed to doing their best to sell your house, Christopher Hodgson Whitstable will not do the right thing by you.

Estate agents often get a bad press, and in my experience, it is often deserved, however since using Christopher Hodgsons I have been pleased to find an estate agent that values the seller as much as the buyer. I would thoroughly recommend the services of Christopher Hodgsons Estate agents, they are polite, professional and very reasonable people. I will not bore people with my specific sale, which went extremely well, but just say this do yourself a favour and when it is time for you to move, make them your first call, even your only call, I cannot say more than that.

Excellent service at every stage from the Christopher Hodgson team. Joe Jezzard gave us an obviously correct (and well-evidenced) valuation and the team found us a buyer (at full asking price) within a short period. When that buyer (and later another) pulled out (no fault of ours or Christopher Hodgson), the team patiently dealt with the situation and we had another buyer within a short time. Jacqueline in sales progression could not have been more pleasant to deal with and was appropriately responsive. They are not willing to reduce their standard commission to compete with other agents who try to undercut them - but their rate is completely fair and we respected the fact that they want to treat all their vendors the same. We also liked the fact that the team is not too big so it was easy to talk to somebody who was familiar with our sale. We are very glad we used them and would certainly choose to do so again.

I most definitely made the right choice when deciding to use Christopher Hodgson estate agents for the sale of my property.
All of the staff have been a delight to work with, from start to finish.
Dealing with LOCAL agents who have been in business in the area for many years, means they know the their market very well.
My dealings were mainly with Tom who was polite, friendly, respectful of my home and very professional at all times.
But even Tom needs a day off!! And I found that all the agents at Christopher Hodgsons worked to the same high standards.
Once the property was under offer I was kept informed of progress weekly by the brilliant Jaquie who is the companies sale progressor, and if I every needed to speak to the office on the phone I was always sure of a friendly greeting usually from Alice who although she had never met me knew who I was.

Half hearted and a little arrogant.
The Tankerton office had to be chased for follow-ups after viewings, even though they were asked to call and let us know reactions to the property.
We were told our property was over priced even though they had valued it!
We were told one lady had done a painting for us after her visit but we were never to see it or be given it.
After 10 months of lack lustre service we moved to another agent and he got two realistic offers for us to choose from in 2 weeks! (Thanks Rory!)
Tom from Hodgsons did call to thank us for our patience.

Our journey with Christopher Hodgson began 3 years ago when we rented my mother’s property in Blean when unfortunately she had to move to a care home closer to her family, that relationship with the company has continued ever since.
The team responsible for managing the rental have been marvellous, Olivia Powell, Alice Link, Sally Mumford and Iryna Mamrych all delivering a first class professional service throughout the tenancy.
We recently decided to market the property for sale and it didn't need a great deal of deliberating to decide that Christopher Hodgson’s should again be act as our agent.

We bought a house for which Christopher Hodgson was the agent and were incredibly impressed by their professionalism, efficiency, and pro-activity. Even though they were not working 'for us' they helped sort out issues with our own buyer when the agent we were selling through did not. They were available immediately on email and phone and we had one dedicated person - Jacqueline Bell - who was managing the process throughout. She was personable, friendly and easily contactable and did all the chasing of various parties in the sale when issues came up - even though it was issues in our own sale that our own agent should have dealt with. She updated us by email as soon as there was any news and was by far the most helpful person in the whole process. Next time I would immediately go to Christopher Hodgson on the basis of this experience and would recommend them to anyone 100%.
