My property sold so quuckly , I am selling my late parents home ,as the executor of their wills . It had been on the market with a different , very well known agent for 7 months and I felt it was not being actively marketed or promoted , so I made the decision to move to Miles and Barr. from the beginning Rob was amazing, he was kind taking into consideration our bereavement, and heloed with concerns as my oarents had a equity release on the property, so we only had a year to sell and we had wasted 7 months, he made it as easy as he could . Giving honest opinions and realistic advice. The house was onthe market not even a week and we had a offer and he managed to get full asking price after he felt inital offer could be improved on . From a sellers perspective ,if you are researching agents seriously consider Miles and Barr the branch i used was Whitstable but im sure their standards hold across the board . Even the photography of my parents property and descriptions were superior and the bungalow was marketed in its best light. The office staff happily answer questions , or return a call promptly with the information requested . They very much are working for the sellers , I'm sure they treat buyers equally well. I can't recommend them enough.

Olly was in attendance at each of the viewings at a few different properties before he suggested I viewed the property I purchased. From start to finish his communication was outstanding. He took the time to listen to my needs and wants for the property and suggested multiple properties in the area at each point of my budget. I had a very difficult and disappointing experience buying with this agent. Being charged £65 (non refundable) for an identity check should have rung alarm bells at the start. Propery details were missleading and help from the sales progressor was patchy to say the least, company meeting are more important than speaking with buyers apparently. They did not, even once, answer the phone when I rang. Sometimes returned the call and sometimes didn't. I do not recommend this agent.

Miles and Barr, deliberately over valued the property to get us as a customer, then spent their time trying to get us to reduce the price. The contract stated that they would communicate with us every two weeks with updates, this happen once, the only other two time they contacted us was to try and convince us to reduce the price that they had set. I got no feed back on viewings even when I chased them.

I strongly advise against using Miles & Barr. As a landlord, my experience has been extremely disappointing. The communication regarding my tenant's arrears was sorely lacking, and I only received the necessary information after persistently pursuing the matter myself.
Furthermore, their email correspondence has been consistently unprofessional and discourteous. The overall attitude displayed by the company gives the impression that they have no genuine concern for their clients' businesses. I would recommend seeking alternative property management services to avoid such a frustrating and unsatisfactory experience.

Ollie, Ricky and Izzy have been brilliant- one of them always getting back to me in the quickest of turnarounds and dealing with all of the requests I had for them. Polite, friendly, courteous and knowledgeable they all did everything I asked and more. A really good team!!
Jade in Sales Progression has been brilliant too- so knowledgeable about the part of the process I knew the least about. There was nothing she didn’t know nor couldn’t advise me on- and her diligence in keeping to all the calls she promised me was incredible. Probably only my view and due to my naivety of the process - but did feel as if she was “default- siding” with the sellers when I raised the one negotiation area (survey issues raised and inventory pricing). I got immediate answers to my proposal, surprising to me that the answer could be offered before speaking to the seller. From that point I dealt directly with the seller regarding everything regarding the survey issues raised and the fix/recompense of. Again, I’m naive to the process and this may be the norm- but friends have told me that the sales Progressor (or similiar role) dealt with all of this for them with an impartial outlook. As I state, I’m unsure of the norm and this is not a complaint, merely an observation and simply the only area for me to comment on in an otherwise brilliant experience!! Thanks all Kier

The initial meeting with the agent was ok, he talked us through the different avenues that we could take and sue to our circumstances we chose to do the auction route, which was meant to be the quickest.That’s where it all went down hill in the three months we were with them we had roughly 10 viewing Izzy and Ollie were lovely, friendly showing people around. We were at home when most of the viewings were happening and found that we had to give the viewers the information that the estate agent or Joe at the auction place should have. Communication was bad, I always had to the chasing and in the end went to another estate agent (Wards) who has sold my house in three days. Enough said !

The whole process of selling my flat has been stressful from receiving an offer until completion. Whilst a lot of this is not directly down to Miles and Barr, the communication throughout the sale has been very poor. At the very start at the process, a member of team showed the prospective buyer around my flat and left it open without even checking if I was still in the building, which is very dangerous. Throughout the process communication generally was slow, and I was the one doing most of the chasing to push the sale through which I didn't appreciate as it added unnecessary stress to the process. Furthermore, I was promised dates for the completion of my sale in October, then November then December and it finally completed at the end of January. Communication did improve and the whole service seemed to improve once I threatened to pull the flat off the market and complain to the Head Office, which obviously I did not want to do.

Went with Mikes and Barr simply as they seem to have a large portfolio of houses on the market so this would be beneficial in finding a home to move to. However the house sorta sold itself and they only did three viewings after which unless I ring or emailed relevant houses to buy were not sent over. Was originally told they would give me first hand knowledge of houses in the area I wanted would be sent over as soon as in the market before they hit RightMovd etc… this did not hapoen. In fact the two houses that were suitable were never sent through anx appeared to sell pre market. After four months of disappointment took ghd house off the market as nothing suitable to move to and buyers wanted to move in ASAP

Everyone I have met at Whitstable Miles and Barr have made my experience a pleasant one. I first met Stuart and Luke who were great and have had more dealings now with Ricky , who has been upbeat, professional, really easy to talk to, very helpful and on the ball with everything. On moving day communication was very poor which resulted in me paying additional costs to removal men as the store closed 3-6pm I was not told this was the case when calling for updates regarding collecting keys to new property . I've been looking for a property for a while now and considered Whitstable for a while- and had the honour of Ricky showing me some properties. He knows his way around a base and blew me away with some of his insights on the properties. I was shown 3 or 4 different locations, all completely different- yet he knew them all well. Similar to another review, Sam aided me with mortgage advice which I found to be very useful and am thankful for that.

Since I started looking for a house in Whitstable, Miles and Barr have gone out of their way to find me the ideal property. I met Ricky on several viewings and he was always very knowledgeable and accommodating. I did however end up finding a property through another agent, who unfortunately haven’t been as on the ball. I did manage to use Sam from miles and Barr for my mortgage as he found me the best deal considering the pandemic.

This firm are the most inept, unprofessional and borderline dishonest agents I have encountered.
Don't even bother trying to call them before 1030 as their lengthy morning meetings mean the phone is answered by 'head office', who NEVER pass on a message for a call back.
If you call another branch, they are just as incapable of passing on a message.
After accepting an offer on a property they were marketing, they did tant amount to nothing to support the process. 3 months pass of us chasing for updates, to be told the sellers are still 'actively looking'. Eventually we were told our sellers had themselves finally found a property and had an offer accepted. Delighted, we instructed surveyors and solicitors. This was soon to be found to be a complete falacy, and explained away as a 'miscommunication'. Complete waste of time and our money.
Another 4 months pass without any communication unless we chased them, and no movement at all on the sale at all. Now I'm not suggesting the search for a house is their responsibility, but being kept completely in the dark was deeply frustrating, and only compounded what is already an extremely stressful process.
Needless to say we decided to look elsewhere and give up our purchase.
I'm pleased to report THESE new agents have been fantastic and could show Miles & Barr how it SHOULD be done.
I suspect Miles and Barr are a victim of their own success, have grown too big for their own boots, and have lost sight of what good customer service means.

Update: The sales who introduced me the house belonged to "Whitstable branch" although the house is at Canterbury! He was late around 20 mins and let me wait in a very cold weather. And he did tell me the house is selling and caused me to suffer from a lot of unpredictable visiting.

I rent the house here just for six months. They didn't tell me the house is selling. So more than 20 visitors came to my house. Sometimes they even opened the door directly without any notice. They didn't turn off the light and fan in the toilet when I traveled 18 days. It made extra cost for the tenant.
Besides, they are the people who do not know the basic respect. Before I arrive the UK, people said British are so gentleman, it turns out they cannot compete the elementary students. How come they can sell your house because they are so selfish!

Unprofessional, underhand and ruthless. Well known in the area for overpricing properties - check zoopla and sort by reduced and M & B appear page after page. Received handwritten note through our door after we had an agreed sale (through our own estate agent in less than a week) asking if we could call them to arrange a viewing for their client - an underhand and unprofessional way of doing business. Visited the branch to make a complaint to the manager - who did not agree that this is unprofessional. In my opinion this is the type of behaviour that gives estate agents such a poor name and why we made a decision to steer clear of the national agencies and selected a local estate agent with morals (yes some of them actually do have morals). I expect there will be a response from the manager with the normal rhetoric about being disappointed etc etc but there is no excuse for the way they conduct business

Whitstable branch- very unprofessional agents with awful customer service! I made an appointment to view 2 houses, 5minutes before the appointment I called them to check on the house number, and they informed me that both appointments have been cancelled, and that they left me a message. That it is not true, I have not received any voicemail, neither any emails from them. Furthermore, Lucy, one of the sales agents, while talking to me on the phone has not apologised, all she did was just telling me that "it is fine", let's rebook it, which is a joke, I had to travel 30minutes to get to the appointment. Their staff have to get some customer service training to learn how to treat your clients!

They overpriced our house then advised us to drop price, refused to lower their commission, I had to call them for feedback on viewings as they never called us. We sold our house, showing the purchaser round ourselves, then never heard from them after it was sold. The sales negotiator lady called us three times, very poor service we felt from the whole branch. I would never use them again.

Most impressed with this branch/company. We had a property to sell in the area and they dealt with this in a most professional way, arranging a large number of viewings from the start which resulted in a quick sale. Their sales progressor kept an eye on the sales chain and did what she could to chivvy things along. Their close relationship with a local conveyancer simplified things and resulted in very much a stress free transaction. Highly recommended!
