Rented us a property that was clearly unsafe and unfit for human habitation. They agreed to terminate our year-long contract after only 12 days, before re-listing the property online only hours later.
We had to stay in temporary accommodation for 3 weeks whilst CR ‘repaired’ 28 Leopold St. It ended up being very different to when we had viewed and what we were promised (no light bulbs, furnishings that we were told came with the property were missing, electric & gas top up key systems etc.). Within 2 days we had no gas, electricity or running water due to a dangerous leak in the fuse box. Before this was identified, one of the many electricians who came round advised me to flip the switch board whenever the electricity went out, putting me in danger.
We were asked to vacate the premises whilst the electricity was still a risk, which rendered us a household of homeless young women. We were offered £26.25 each a night for a hotel, which unsurprisingly doesn't scratch the surface of last-minute weekend bookings in London. CR insisted the leak had magically appeared after the one time we had used the shower.
They nailed some wooden boards over where the leak was coming from despite us begging them to carry out proper repairs for our safety. Unsurprisingly, the leak persisted, and CR reluctantly agreed to terminate our contract after only 12 days once we identified Mohammed Ali Hassan, the Director of CR, as being the landlord through the Land Registry.
Four hours later, the property was relisted for cheaper. They started ripping out the bathroom once we left, proving they had knowingly lied about the leak being fixed by pinning up some planks of wood.
Almost a month on, 3 out of the 4 of us are still facing housing insecurity, living either with friends/family or in temporary accommodation. This is because of CR’s greed, unprofessionalism, and dishonesty. They even implied that we stole the property's electricity meter key and asked us to consider that “it was an unfortunate situation for the landlord”, and that they did us a favour by “letting us stay for free” in a house that was uninhabitable. This is inaccurate and insulting on all counts.
TENANTS: You have been warned, steer clear, and good luck to those already contractually stuck.
LANDLORDS: Letting through CR could cause more stress than it is worth as their sloppy business dealings could negatively impact you too. This experience is reflective of how the Director himself handles his own properties. We had legal standing to be released from our contract due to CR’s poor choices, which could happen to you with your tenants and lose you money.
MOHAMMED ALI HASSAN & CR EMPLOYEES: The unprofessional manner in which you have conducted yourself is embarrassing and has had real impacts on three young women who now have no where to live. We are reasonable people who want minimal stress and we would have remained in our tenancy had you have fixed the leak properly on the first instance and given us suitable temporary accommodation. This behaviour will eventually come back to bite you. Perhaps you should spend less time on your podcasting endeavours and spend more time carrying out the bare minimum for your tenants.
The council, local MPs & Propertymark have been made aware of the events described above. I recommend other tenants pursue the same avenues if they are unfortunate enough to find themselves in a similar position.... Read more

City Realtor, particularly the outstanding manager, Abul Muhsin, have looked after a rental apartment in Shadwell for me for three years. They did simply everything for me, dealing with every emergency small and large and at very reasonable cost. More recently, as I retire, they have sold the apartment for me and they have been excellent again. Compared to the odious young cold callers from some of the better known Agencies in London, City Realtor are utterly professional. I could not recommend them more warmly.

As with other reviews written here, it took us over a month to get our deposit back from CityRealtor, who ignored our comms, emails and calls for weeks at a time. Unsurprisingly, we only got a response when we told them we would be starting a dispute with TDS. It's a shame their communication was so utterly poor as we moved out - soured the entire experience with the company.
Alongside this, we would often be asked if we were staying in the property 4-5 months prior to our contract being renewed - which always felt like they were just trying to up the price for the next set of tenants.... Read more

A woman called Yin laughed at me on the phone, I am autistic and struggle with social skills and she laughed at me because of it. So rude and it has really upset me. - you have just replied to me calling this a fake review, good try. This clearly happened to me otherwise why would I bother to write about it? I had to call my mum afterwards to cry to her because I had been made to feel so bad by this woman. That’s clearly her problem not mine.... Read more

Very bad service. They are liars. When you get in their property once you're are screwed as they don't respond to any of your calls afterwards. Two of their employees named abul & yen were very misbehaving. They don't know how to talk to their clients. So all in all, they are no good. Would never deal with them ever again.... Read more

THEY ARE RENTAL FRAUD AGENCY.
My partner and I were searching for a house to rent in the city when we came across one that we really liked. We viewed the property the day it was made available and decided to place a holding deposit with the City Realtor. According to the terms and conditions, if we paid the holding deposit, the property was supposed to be removed from any public website.
The house was published on your website for £1700 per month, and we paid £392 (one week's rent) as a deposit. However, the property is still listed on both Rightmove and the agency's City Realtor Website. The day after we paid the deposit, the agent contacted us to inform us that they wanted to raise the rent to £2000 per month, an increase of £400. We argued that we had paid the holding deposit precisely as the agent had instructed, and the price could not be raised so drastically overnight. When we asked for the reason behind this rent increase, the agent said that there are three other similar properties in the same building listed at £1700. If they advertise it for a higher price, they will lose competitiveness and attract fewer interested people. This is the most unprofessional and ridiculous reason we've ever heard.
We rejected the price increase and insisted on following what we agreed to and signed prior to paying the holding deposit. However, when the agent realized that they could not extract any more money from us, they cancelled our application for the house. Despite this, the house is still being published on the Rightmove website and their agency's main page, which is a scam that could potentially attract more people. Please be careful when choosing a real estate agency while looking for a home in London.... Read more

Good services provided by the team when I was looking for a flat to stay near my college. They managed to find me a good place within the budget I was looking for. I was picky and had gone through a few homes so it took sometime till we got the right one. In terms of repairs, thankfully I manage to get prompt responses and got my heater fixed quick! I didn’t have much issues in terms of the home after that. I haven’t had any bad experiences when I rented and I do appreciate their good service. It was easy to deal with them. I also made sure to take pictures of the home before entering to ensure my own safekeeping and got my deposit back. Would recommend to all those finding a place to rent in London!... Read more

Don't trust the legitimacy of 5 star reviews. If I could give 0, I would.
They rented a flat that was in shocking condition, made all tenants ill, with so much wrong with it. We asked again and again for things to be fixed ans it was ignored, or they'd get one of their dim witted contracters to come in, do half (if that) of the job yet still manage to leave mess and debris everywhere, or make the problem worse than to start with. Constant issues with little care when we reportes everything through the appropriate channels every single time, there were things reported monthly over the course of the year from move in that never got fixed and then they tried to claim damages on. Mould everywhere that we did our best to treat but needed proper intervention. Fixings falling off the walls, filthy, wires sticking out in numerous places. Anything you can think of was wrong, and spent the entire tenancy overpaying for a borderline unlivable property and begging them to fix things when they didn't care.
When it came to moving out they claimed they would set us up with cleaners so we wouldn't have to lose our deposit, never got in contact about it despite us asking multiple times then took an extortionate fee out of our deposit. Also tried to claim damages that were already there and we had to bombard them with emails and threaten legal action to get any kind of response.

As all of the other reviews are stating stay away from this estate agents. Took us months to get our deposit back and only got it back when we told them we were formally disputing with TDS. Lots of things went unfixed throughout the year. The end of year inspection bordered on threatening. Make sure you take photos of everything because they will try to take every penny.... Read more

Property listings are matched to data from the Land Registry by our clever algorithm. Clever as it may be, it isn't always right, especially if a property was listed by multiple agents. The asking price is the original listing price, NOT the final listing price.
