We would highly recommend Country Properties, Shefford, to anyone looking to sell their home. The whole process was exceptionally well managed from our initial sale, right through to our exchange of contracts. The whole Country Properties team were polite and informative when we called and always followed through on calls backs and actions as promise. Steph and the team were instrumental in keeping our chain informed and worked tirelessly to move the chain forwards. Steph and her team made such an impact on our chain that others in the chain commented on their excellent service and hard work! Moving house is never easy, but I can honestly say that the support we received from Country Properties got us through the process and we are extremely grateful. Country Properties and the whole team were by far the best estate agent we have ever used and we cannot recommend them highly enough.

I have received the most appalling and unprofessional service from this company.
The first potential buyer pulled out on the day the contracts were signed as they had not been able to raise the purchase price.
At no time leading up to this were we made aware of his lack of finance.
Once a sale was agreed we were not advised that there were actually four people in the chain and the bottom of the chain had pulled out.
Having asked them to market the property they offered no regular updates at all, it was like trying to get blood out of a stone. On requesting an update I was told
1. Your buyer really keen to move
2. Nothing to report
3. Still chasing !! Who and for what??
On telephoning they were 'too busy' to take the call and 'too busy' to return the call. After phoning through the day I emailed and received an out of office message, have gone on holiday!!
Towards the end the emails were not personalised, just statements which came across as arrogant and rude
With only a few days left before the buyers mortgage offer was due to expire they seemed to wake up to the fact that they needed to do something.

I have rented a house through Country Properties for several years and the staff in the letting office have always been very helpful, professional and pleasant to deal with. Eventually, we bought a house from their estate agents side, and again great service. No complaints, and I would recommend Country Properties for lettings and sales.

We sold our house via Country Properties Shefford and couldn’t have had a better experience.
Steph came round to value the property, and used her knowledge of the area and potential buyers to contact a family who were interested in a similar house to see if they would be interested in viewing it. They offered the full asking price which allowed us to move on with our house moving journey!
Furthermore, we had some annoying legal stuff during our sale but Steph was fantastic in keeping the chain informed so everyone stayed in the chain.
We got the full asking price and we are happy in our new home.

Took my time to write a covering letter and application for a property, but turned out the property was already let and they had not bothered to remove it off the website. They did not even have the courtesy to reply to my application and let me know the property was already let and still to this day I have had no reply. The only reason I found out is because I called up anonymously asking about the property and was told it's already gone. After that call it was still up for a few days so I made another enquiry (not as myself) and that is when they finally bothered to take the property down. Find this really unprofessional and unkind to just ignore people and not even say thank you for your enquiry but unfortunately the property has already been let, apologies that the website was not up to date, etc. I took hours writing my covering letter and application and all that time had false hope that I potentially found the new home of my dreams only to find out they were just not proactive enough to take it off their own website or Rightmove and Zoopla. Really upsetting and not impressive at all. I am not sure the role of estate agents, but I always thought they were here to help you find a home, so I am just surprised they didn't email back any suggestions of other properties they have or put people on a shortlist of people that are searching for homes. I guess we are all just numbers these days because they probably have a million and one enquiries and no properties. Oh well.

We have used Country Properties for our last two sales and cannot recommended them highly enough.
They are excellent from start to finish, constantly providing updates and chasing the relevant parties to ensure a successful Sale of our property.
Steph was our first port of contact and nothing was to much trouble answering our emails both in office hours and out of office. She was fantastic to deal with and always made sure we were updated.
We also delt with Jamie and the rest of the team and they also provided us wit a fantastic service from sale to completion.

I used to rent a property with country properties. During that time I interacted mainly with Debbie I found the whole experience deeply unpleasant. She seemed more concerned about making money for the landlord than about my experience as a tenant: it made me feel stressed and pressured. I also experienced them as unprofessional due to the lack of service that was available to me - what I mean by service is a welcoming attitude and kind approach, which would make me feel safe and supported to raise any concerns I might have. However, both members of the rental branch - Debbie and Hayley- made me feel I was a burden and every time I spoke on the phone it would be rushed. The usual line was ‘we’re about to go into a meeting’. This caused me much anxiety when I was living in Shefford, I couldn’t wait to move!
My view of their behaviour whilst living in one of their properties was just confirmed when I had to call them unexpectedly because I accidentally sent a package to the old address and wondered if there was any way of getting the package to me. If not I enquired into whether it would be possible for them to ask their tenant to hold the package for me or see if I could be sent on. However I was told ‘that wasn’t possible’ and Debbie rushed me off the phone. She wouldn’t even ask for me. How is this a professional service and moreover how is this kind? Is kindness and civility not a part of managing a business for them? It seems not…
I’ve dealt with and lived under the care of several different real estate agents and this was by the far the worst! The whole experience of living in a property is defined by the attitude and service real estate agent. Therefore, I wanted to warn future and would strongly recommend trying finding another real estate agent to help you if possible!

We have so much to say about Country Properties. Steph valuated our property just after Covid. We put our property a new build home in Shefford up for sale in December '2022 Jamie sat with us and set up a price and with in a couple of months we sold our property. We also used Satchels from Shefford to sell our property. But both Steph and Jamie and the rest of the team were very professional and efficient with keeping us informed of the times the clients were going to view the property and who they were. We got feed back from them once every person who viewed the property. We used a solicitor Steph recommended and home removals she recommended. The solicitors were amazing and liaised via emails informing step by step the
movements of each stage of the exchange documents etc. The home removals were very helpful and moved out my unwanted furniture too and price was very good.
Both Steph and Jamie had a calm and polite manner as they spoke. Thank you both and for being so understanding and caring, very good customer service throughout. Lucy played an absolutely integral part in getting the completion over the line when Steph was on (very well deserved!) leave, and I cannot thank them both enough. Me & my partner dealt with Country Properties Shefford branch in March 2020, during the first major lockdown. Steph and Tayler helped us to find lovely properties and set up lots of viewings for us, we even put in an offer on a house we loved and wanted to buy.
However, after having a Comprehensive Survey done the house had lots of issues me and my partner didn’t want to deal with, we then withdrew our offer.
We had the right to withdraw our offer as we felt that there was to many different problems with that house. Country Properties were not happy that we withdraw our offer. Having a conversation with Steph, the manager, it was obvious she was livid and tried telling us that we were making a mistake.
We kind of felt that she was bullying us not to withdraw. We stood our ground and told her to read the survey report, it stated the house had problems which we felt we didn’t want to take on.
Both Steph and Tayler were clearly unhappy with our decision, which then lead to them ghosting us. We asked them to send us more properties, they said they would but never did.
Fast forward to 2021, we managed to find our dream house, not through Country Properties, through another agent who acted like adults unlike staff at Country Properties.
I wouldn’t recommend Country Properties Shefford, once they saw their commission float through the air after we pulled out of their deal, they spat their dummies out and stopped communicating with us. How childish and unprofessional are they. ????????

Country Properties and particularly Steph were excellent in selling my house. They really worked hard to structure a sale and purchase and seem extremely motivated to move the transaction through. They followed up all the time making sure all the solicitors and chain were aligned. You could probably find cheaper online estate agents, but I would think that the sales from these online companies are far more likely to fall through. As someone who is looking to develop a few houses for sale, I will certainly looking to build a relationship with this office.

Woeful communication from Country Properties Shefford has led to me looking elsewhere in my property search. Staff appear to be working remotely during this time, but often with rather an inept response to simple queries.
I am not sure if this is a one-off or is a more regular occurrence of how the company conducts itself.
Landlords be aware that you could be losing out on trustworthy, professional tenants through no fault of your own.

Big name with a poor customer service,
We had visited a brand new property with Senior Lettings Negotiator, first of the landlady was more welcoming than the agent . After a quick visit , we ( me and wife ) asked them to give us few minutes to talk at outside the property . The landlady was happy about that but again the letting negotiator interrupt her and told us you go home I will call you this evening from the office. And ...... we are still waiting.
The way we were treated by your agent was showing us that she doesn’t want to let us to go ahead with that property despite having 2 full time incomes and also a guarantor.
I wish she was more clear about that or simply could say that she had promised that property to someone else rather than wasting our time.
In conclusion I would not recommend country properties to anyone or anybody.

Jamie and his team are extremely professional individuals who are passionate about the work they do. They took the sale of our home through some quite challenging and unpredictable times, but kept us well informed and confident that we would get to completion. Although the process was longer than expected the communication between themselves and I was excellent. Following the sale of the home they have kept in contact to inform us of mail or packages that have missed the mail redirection. Simply put, they are both recommendable and commendable and in my opinion the front runners in the estate agency market for this area. Many thanks to you all!

I had sold my house and wanted to privately rent but because I wasnt working alot of agencies wouldn't deal with me even though I was paying in advance. I was getting so desperate with only 10 days to go till completion but no one would help until I phoned Debbie. From the first day I walked into the Shefford Office the greeting and service that they provided showed me that i was in the right place. I first spoke with Jo who set up a list of properties for me to view that suited my budget and what i was looking for. Over the duration of a couple of weekends (Sundays included!), I went on several viewings with a couple of the girls from the Shefford branch who were lovely and very knowledgeable of the properties that they were showing me. Any queries I had Steph and Lorraine answered straight away which was a huge relief!
I honestly can't fault this branch, they were always on hand if i had any queries and made sure the sale process went through without any bumps.
They helped my husband and I find our dream home.

Lorraine, Steph, Evie and Jamie were all absolutely superb from day 1. What should have been a simple sale and purchase (first time buyer for my house and new build purchase by myself - doesn't get much simpler!) just dragged on and on and on and, had it not been for the Shefford Branch team, I doubt very much whether much would have happened at all!
Even on completion day, when unexplained delays to money transfer were stringing things out such that I was at risk of having to pay additional charges to the removal company, Lorraine was on the case to save the day and even drove to the property to hand me the keys in person which was a massive help given how close I was to busting a blood vessel! I used to think that Country Properties in Welwyn Garden City were the best of the bunch, but the Shefford branch now takes that place in my view! Thank you so much to you all :)

We found the house we loved Sam & Evie went above & beyond to advertise our house & show people round.
We had a few issues with solicitors holding up the chain, Steph & Jamie were fantastic at keeping everyone updated the whole way through, it definitely wasn’t any easy sale !
I could call them anytime they reply to e-mails straight away.
Steph made sure everyone was updated on the process at all times.
There was NO hard sales or hidden costs.
Shefford country properties definitely work together as part of team and that really shows.

Steph and Jamie have been an absolute pleasure to deal with. We've had a bit of a tough sale with the bottom of the chain falling out twice (despite having been heavily vetted by the team at CP), but both times, the situation was remedied and quickly.
From the initial valuation we were given a great price (without even having to haggle), they have kept us in the loop throughout the whole process (good and bad) and helped us drive the sale through to completion, which again was no easy task with a particularly leisurely solicitor involved in the chain who liked to ask questions, a LOT of questions. Steph and Jamie have been great, without them involved I think we'd still be going back and forth trying to exchange.
I would definitely recommend Country Properties Shefford to anyone looking to buy or sell a property.
