He listened to problems. He gently cajoled everyone to act as sensibly as possible. He advised about builders and windows and what sort of floor to go for. He even advised about another transaction we were working on. He was intelligent, patient, honest, good-humoured, and - ultimately - a bit of a gentleman. I couldn't recommend them enough.
