Professional, knowledgeable, helpful and reassuring, during our house sale they were always in contact with our lawyer, our buyer, our buyers’ lawyer and ourselves to ensure that any bumps in the path were quickly smoothed over. Special mention to Doug Norris, who guided the whole process through to completion - I shall miss his calm and reassuring voice!

In both cases services have always been excellent but Lynne is exceptional. She follows up, always positive and supportive. As a result now I am settling in my country in Japan nicely. I was fortunate to meet nice and efficient people, Conner and Alex particularly. Thank you for your hard work.
24th Jul 2024 (3 days ago)I think their commission and fee rates were competitive. Their communication was good and they did well to progress my sale. Where a potential buyer had seen something similar to my property, the estate agent would schedule them for a viewing at mine too which boosted my views. I broke even on the sale price of my property and so ideally i would've been able to get more for it but given various factors, I think it was a fair price it ended up being sold for and it could've been worse ie. I could've taken a loss
10th Jun 2024 (7 weeks ago)Looks like Bairstow Eves Stratford office have literally vanished from face of the earth. I recently let my property via them and they are charging a considerable fees without any service as such. Last 2 months I am getting an incorrect amount from Countrywide but no response what so ever from Bairstow Eves. Really disappointed and pathetic experience and stuck with them.

24th May 2024 (9 weeks ago)We recently sold our flat with John Payne who have been absolutely amazing from start to finish. We worked very closely with Sam. As they say, not all superheroes wear capes and that is definitely true of Sam. He is truly a superstar amongst superstars. I cannot recommend him and the team enough. He has been extremely helpful throughout, very responsive, always willing to go above and beyond to get to end of the transaction. He was the person who held the whole chain together. Thank you also to Luke and the entire team for your support and patience with this very complicated chain. We cannot thank you enough.

Unit 2,Montreal House, Surrey Quays Road Montreal House, Surrey Quays Road, SE16 7AQ(455 reviews)2nd Jan 2024 (6 mo. ago)I have now rented a property from Ludlow and I would recommend to work with them , there is no time wasting they only send you properties that are within your budget and criteria , they were great at speaking to the landlords to ensure everything was ready before moving in , everything was done through them including advice on bills , broadband etc. Kern was helping us and anytime we needed to call was always there to Fox any problems that we were facing such a great lad ! ???????? If we move again I’ll definitely be reaching out to Kern again UPDATED REVIEW… thought they were fantastic until trying to leave the property got completely shafted with hidden costs and loopholes in the contract .. will not use again

8th Jun 2024 (7 weeks ago)Extremely frustrating experience. All access tags are due to be updated today. Wait in line only to be told the tags we got from johns are not original and they refuse to help us. But wait we can pay £60 for new ones….but jokes on us as they suddenly refuse to issue knew ones without approval. We are told to call for help at the door to get in….get there and system is offline….now we wait 20 min to sneak in with someone else. Call johns and log issue on system….get someone on the phone who promises to email the concierge to issue us new ones….3 hours later we try again….but surprise suprise they never mailed…we wait again to sneak in with someone else. Few hours later after numerous messages the email gets sent…now we have to go back for the 3rd time and pay 60pounds.

I worked with the company back in 2019 - 2021 and left due to poor management. Staff were treated so unprofessionally and it started to affect my mental health. Recently the two owners parted ways and they reached out to me again and asked if i wanted to work with them again. They promised me things have changed and the way they work is much better. I clearly did not last long there, considering that i am leaving this review 3 months after rejoining. I feel compelled to share my thoughts and insights. From the moment I rejoined the company, I noticed a concerning lack of transparency and ethical practices. The management seemed more focused on making quick profits rather than providing quality service to clients. One of the most alarming aspects of this estate agency was their consistent disregard for laws and regulations. They would often cut corners and bend rules to maximize their own gains, leaving clients vulnerable and uninformed. The lack of proper documentation, misleading advertising, and hidden fees were all common occurrences. Furthermore, there was a prevailing culture of dishonesty within the company. Agents were encouraged to use high-pressure tactics and misleading information to secure sales, often at the expense of the clients' best interests. This not only tarnished the reputation of the agency but also created an unhealthy and toxic work environment. Another concerning aspect was the lack of professionalism and accountability. Many of my colleagues lacked the necessary qualifications and experience, which resulted in poor customer service and inadequate advice. Moreover, when faced with complaints or issues, the management would often dismiss or ignore them, leaving clients frustrated and dissatisfied. Overall, my time at this dodgy estate agency was disheartening and has left a lasting negative impression. The lack of integrity, transparency, and professionalism made it impossible for me to continue working there. I strongly advise anyone considering their services to proceed with extreme caution and thoroughly research alternative options.
18th Mar 2024 (19 weeks ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

This has got to be the most inept real estate service in all of Central London! I spent over half an hour standing at the property, completely ignored, with no one even bothering to open the door. The agent was nowhere to be seen—no guidance, no support, nothing for a potential tenant eager to view the property. What a colossal waste of time! And then, when all is said and done, all I got was a feeble "I do apologize." Seriously? Your apology is worthless at this point. A word of advice to anyone looking in London: steer clear of Jack Barclay Estates unless you want your time utterly wasted by the "best" renting company. Utterly disgraceful!

They listed my property with beautiful pictures and found me a buyer very quickly. My sale process was slow due to solicitor debates but Hiten was so helpful throughout the process. He liaised with my buyer on my behalf and kept me up to date with things I needed to know. Highly recommended for anyone looking for quality and integrity in an estate agent.
