I honestly do not understand how this company has 5 stars. Our viewings were bunched up with multiple other viewers, they rescheduled and cancelled confirmed viewings we had with no notice or communication and seem to list properties for wildly over what other local (similar) properties are listed and sold for. While one agent we met with was professional and helpful, some of the others were the complete opposite.

Judging by the other reviews on here I am the outlier, but I found Devenports chaotic and near useless in my search for a property. The (pleasant but slightly panicky-sounding) lady who called me up a couple of times was always rushing and for some reason never seemed able to send me any specific property details via email. The only emails I did get during those three or so weeks were generic ones for "off market" properties not in my favoured area and way outside my stated budget. Luckily we have since found somewhere to buy, fairly easily as it happens..

The team at Devenports were very supportive and committed to helping us navigate the sale of our house in Hampton. We had regular dialogue with James / Aaron and the support staff were always well briefed and informed on the status of viewings etc.
Whilst I'm sure this would be the case with most Estate Agents, the big challenge was the rapidly changing market at the time of our sale (thanks Liz Truss) which made their efforts especially important to getting us over the line so that we didn't lose our onward move.
I'd highly recommend Devenports for their regular dialogue / updates on the interest in the property and then working through changes as the buyer's market strength dipped. Committed, genuine and insightful - need I say more!

He dealt with her carefully and clearly and took time to explain to every step in the process clearly. Time was extremely tight as the flat she wanted was already on the market. I sold my property on Percy Road with Aaron and James and chose them because they offered fantastic value for money and I believe in supporting fellow small businesses and disruptors in established markets.
Most importantly they stood by their decisions and communicated openly and honestly which is a rare trait in my experience with estate agents.
My property was not your standard "cookie cutter" flat and I had been severely let down by two established agencies in the area who had valued my property previously but then would not support the valuations in a subsequent mortgage re-evaluation leaving me in a very difficult situation. Despite the uniqueness of my property with challenging lease arrangements they found a fantastic buyer and I achieved exactly what they promised I would achieve from it despite a declining sellers market.
Aaron and James were great throughout the sales process and kept me up to date daily on interest and viewings. When they were not available, one of their other staff harry took over seamlessly. It was very apparent that they took time to weed out tyre kickers and non serious buyers and as a seller I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
It's not an easy market out there for sellers at the moment but you're in good hands with Devenports and the guys will support you through it.

It’s very noticeable that while Devenports have a five star rating here, the ratings are almost all from buyers, few are from sellers so as a potential seller, I’ll right that wrong.
I chose Devenports to market my property earlier this year, it was an utter failure. Things started out with Aaron and James providing a valuation for my place which I thought was way out of line and far too high but they were insistent that based on their research (not detailed other than they ‘knew’ the market locally) the price was achievable. I agreed a price with them at the bottom of their valuation. I pointed out the positives and the shortcomings of my property and they appeared to have taken them on board.
Several viewings later there was no progress and not a hint of an offer. When I asked for feedback all I was told was that people were unhappy about the shortcomings and when I asked about the strengths, I was told people ‘weren’t interested’ in them and they didn’t matter to people so things like one more bedroom than adjacent properties count for nothing? I’m amazed. I thought bedrooms counted for a great deal.
Aaron then asked to meet with me and not for the first time he was over an hour late for the meeting. He then suggested a 20% reduction in the price. I was stunned, that was way below the price of any property locally including significantly smaller ones but he told me that in his opinion that was the valuation. I later learned he had one offer for 20% less than the asking price but that was not acceptable to me. I questioned his original valuation and all I can say is that he reminded me of a blond haired, over weight politician for bluster and lies in his response.
Curious and concerned about what was going on I asked a friend to mystery shop Devenports and request a viewing. She did and it was arranged. She said from beginning to end she was rushed by James who failed to answer any of her prepared questions about the positives of the flat with a bored and disinterested response that he would check with me. She said if her questions were answered, she would almost certainly make an offer. The viewing lasted twelve minutes before James rushed her out. I’m still waiting for the questions to be asked by James and as a consequence, over a month later, I have ceased the relationship with Devenports, a firm run by two chancers who are full of bluster. They may deliver for some, they didn’t for me. One star is one too many.
They may now claim in a response that I am not a client but they knew me in my maiden name so their claim is disingenuous.

Aaron, James and the Deveports team did a tremendous job in selling our house in Hampton.
We talked to other more established local agents at the time we appointed them. From the outset, we were impressed by their approach, energy and professionalism – treating our sale as something special. Their knowledge of the local market was impressive. They showed a hunger to do a great job for us and that, alongside the competitive commission rate that they offered, was the clinching factor – even though both the other agents to whom we spoke tried to instil in us a sense of risk in choosing Devenports.
From that point on, everything moved swiftly and smoothly: the photos and plans, the advertising copy (which we appreciated being able to comment on) and the pre-launch day, which led directly to an offer in the range that they predicted, just a few days later.
Because of the complexity of the chain, their work didn’t stop there – they chased solicitors and other buyers and sellers to speed them up and finally get us to exchange. Moreover, they kept us informed throughout, which we have really appreciated.
The growth of their business in the last year or so has been remarkable – but now that we have seen them in action, we can readily understand how they have achieved this. Evidently, they are already Hampton’s biggest estate agency in terms of the number of commissions and sales. It would not surprise me at all if, in another year’s time, they are Hampton’s only estate agency because I can see no reason at all why anyone selling or buying a house would look elsewhere.

I rarely write reviews, however I feel compelled to have engaged with Devenports. Aaron took care and time whilst assisting me with my late Aunt's estate despite our family not looking to sell straight away. Whereas many of the other agents simply glazed over and looked for the door when they found out nothing was in it for them, in the short term Aaron went above and beyond to help us with what is a rather complex case. For anyone looking for an agency who are not looking to make a quick buck and actually operate with integrity then look no further than Devenports. It is safe to say, as a team they are by far the most proactive agent I have ever come across. Since our first meeting just over a week ago they have been in constant contact regarding buyers all of which have viewed our property today generating two full asking price offers. As we agreed to market the property from the second week of January, both myself and my partner have been pleasantly surprised they have actively been working offline pushing buyers to view our property, not to mention their fee structure is extremely competitive.
On the rare occasion I have visited the office floor, I found it a professional, quirky environment. A new refreshing approach to estate agency, and would recommend to anybody.
