They kept us hanging on with a potential buyer who obviously wasn’t going to buy and withdrew after 6 months.
We gave Downers the required 4 weeks notice they asked for, and they immediately (same day) withdrew our advert on Rightmove and took down the For Sale sign. They said we would still need to pay them if we found a buyer during that 4 weeks. We eventually sold without an estate agent.

Fantastic service in managing the sale of my 'old' house and then the subsequent purchase of my new house.
The whole team did an amazing job but special mention must go to the key players: Leo and Fraser who communicated so effectively and honestly and kept all the plates spinning so professionally.
I can't recommend Downers highly enough.

Downer and Co Estate agency in Newbury have made renting out a property, Lee Fenn-Tripp dealt with most of the enquires and the subsequent sale of the property dealt with by Leo Downer a straight forward and very well managed experience. They made the process as stress free as possible for us with the added problem of moving away from the area and not being near the property. Very grateful to the whole team for always answering queries very efficiently and quickly. They also achieved the asking price at a difficult time. Very grateful.

Richard Bailey and Fraser Crumlish at Downers, Newbury. Why would you want to go to any other estate agents to sell your house! Richard gave an honest opinion on my Mum's house. It was a probate sale and he dealt with me in a sympathetic way but still being honest about the house's faults whilst building up it's USPs. Gave a realistic probate/guide price, took some pretty stunning pictures of the lovely garden and also of the not so stunning tired interior, making it look like a palace. The sale was quick with about 10 sealed bids. However, we had to wait for probate which took 10 weeks but Fraser handled everything beautifully, managing both my and the purchasers expectations. Richard and Fraser both went the extra mile when the survey found a fair few issues and handled the renegotiation very professionally. Fraser held my hand throughout the process keeping me calm and sane through the sad sale of our family home. I can't thank either of them enough. Oh, did I say, they are both lovely chaps too!
