First time we have purchased a property through this company and cannot praise too highly. Lorraine, Tony and Carol were excellent throughout on a difficult chain and helped us greatly from start to finish, keeping us informed and were always very pleasant up to exchange and completion.

Hillier and Wilson have been absolutely fantastic. They helped save our journey towards our dream house. We had been on with a different agent for 9 months having made an offer on our dream home. With no success we were worried we would lose the property to changed agents to Hillier and Wilson. They gave us some excellent advice on things we could do to lift the property a bit and make it sell. It worked and we sold it within about a month with them. After our sale Carol went above and beyond to get the chain to completion leading the whole process and getting all other parties to arrange a date. Without her persistence I believe it could have taken several extra months to go through.
I can honestly say without changing to Hillier and Wilson I'm not convinced we would have gotten our sale through and we would have lost of forever home. I cannot recommend them enough

Reply to Hilliers response - I am glad to see you took all me details down correctly last week when we spoke as to not have my details after giving them to you further validates my point. I spoke to a lady - Lorraine whilst enquiring on a home in Goldwell Drive. All was fine until I mentioned I was going to sell with someone else, one can only assume a competitor to you, as she became rude, dismissive and not wanting to deal with me. As such I did not even get a viewing at the home booked as I never got the chance to speak with her talking over me. Since my call, I have had offers on home without launching a would now be in a position to move without a mortgage. Whilst I can not say I would have bought Goldwell, it did tick a lot of boxes for me. This lady Lorraine has potentially lost Goldwell a buyer down purely to her rudeness and attitude to me. I hope that clarifies that this isn’t a “bogus review”

Be very careful buying a property through these sharks. They took us right up to exchange and then the seller suddenly demanded £10,000 more for the property or he would pull out. We refused to be bullied like this, so ended up losing a large amount of money as a result of wasted searches and solicitor’s fees.
We had the searches done promptly and did everything in our power to proceed with the sale in a timely manner, and they still treated us in an absolutely disgusting way and acted with zero integrity. Hillier and Wilson fully sided with the seller and fully supported him in attempting to rip us off, they didn’t even offer us an apology.

This was my original post and I still stand by it!
In this day and age women do make choices…. Maybe not in Hillier and Wilson’s business or family but certainly in mine and many of my friends. There is a law against this kind of discrimination toward me today and cannot believe that it occurred.
It all started with my request to view a property that they were advertising. I was called and they stated as I was a Mrs there must be a Mr and what’s his name!?!? I found that strange but passed on my husband’s details. I then was contacted by them for a sooner viewing however when I said I would be coming alone they said I couldn’t as I needed to view with my Husband! I immediately told them that the original booking, I would have attending alone aswell. They immediately said that they’d not allow that one either, as I needed to attend with my husband! I was passed on to the equally rude male owner who then said it was a matter of lack of staff and them not wanting to do a second viewing. I promptly told him if I liked the property and offered, we’d require a second viewing anyway and he scoffed at me. Clearly showing it was, in fact that I was a woman viewing alone that they found unacceptable. Finally what made me not pursue was the male owners statement that due to my call and disagreement he would make sure only he was at the viewing and not his staff, I found this both a bullying tactic, a male chauvinistic attitude and frankly both unacceptable and intimating to say the least. Hence I didn’t book the viewing.

Tony and Lorraine at Hillier Wilson were recommended by my brother who is also selling his family home.
We saw 5 local estate agents all well known and the cream of the crop according to Get Agent.
Tony, on his visit stood out with his assured but approachable style and his extensive knowledge of the local area (20 years)
The marketing really did show our home off to its best and we ended up selling after a week online and the first viewing the following weekend.
Spot on valuation, sold at the asking price!

Relocating to area, so difficult to make trips to the area. Tried to make appointments to view two properties, unfortunately poor communications to confirm.
Eventually tried to re-schedule due to work commitments, but no staff available on Friday.
So when suggested my wife viewed on her own on the original day this was not allowed, told viewing could only be done as a couple.
Glad I'm not selling with them!!

I accept almost everything in your reply and appreciate that in your line of business you are dealing with large volumes of messages and instructions which can lead to, at times, misunderstandings and poor communications beyond your control.
However to be told that veiwings were only allowed, in our case, by husband and wife was not a misunderstanding.

I was hoping to view a house which I was in a position to act on immediately if I liked it. The agents at Hillier and Wilson were so rude that I ended up hanging up in exasperation. I have no idea how they are in business and will not attempt to view a house with them again.

People of Google, go to Hillier & Wilson, they were WAY better than any of the other estate agents we dealt with. Their Christmas window display is also excellent, not directly relevant I appreciate but it all helps and a pleasant touch of humanity that is a theme running throughout.
I genuinely did not understand what an estate agent did until I met Lorraine. I've have long assumed I was wrong that an entire industry could be a waste of time having never met an estate agent who could convince me otherwise. But Lorraine not only sorted out our sale (after a failed attempt with Purple Bricks), she also handled negotiations on our purchase, advised us through a pile of (potentially big) problems and organised half the chain we were in. I have rarely seen money so well spent on professional services and I have completely reversed my view of estate agenting as a profession - albeit most of them still appear to be...well, less good so there is clearly significant value in appointing the right agent.
My concern was always paying out on fees and nothing more than a rubber stamping exercise happening (a bit cynical but it does appear to be a general problem in many industries these days), but with Lorraine there is no question that you are paying an expert who knows what she's doing and will look after you very well. So you should go there, it's a much better idea than the others.

The experience I had was exemplary from the first valuation visit right through to completion. I had a pushy and difficult buyer and Hillier and Wilson acted with dignity and professionalism at all times and most importantly according to my instruction and interests. I was ill during the process and was in hospital for some of the period and I found the ladies in the office efficient and understanding. They worked well with my solicitor and kept me informed at all times via my requested media. I have now moved out of the area but the greatest compliment I can pay Hiller and Wilson is that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them or use them again. I can't thank you enough!
