5 starts isn’t enough for this agency, honestly if i can give them a 10 i would do????. I want to say a massive THANK YOU to Donna (Colchester branch) she is the best estate agent i ever dealt with since i moved to the UK. When i called to arrange a viewing Donna was really helpful and welcoming asked me a few questions to confirm my eligibility and that i meet the landlords requirements (I really find this useful so we wouldn’t waste each other’s time) then arranged a viewing the second day straight away, going for the viewing she was there on time she was knowledgeable about everything related to the property, she was really helpful during the referencing checks everything was fast she was always in touch and now i moved in and honestly this was the best and easiest experience i had. They’re unable to communicate. Wasted my time going to a student accommodation viewing for them to say the agent I spoke to did not book me in. I spoke to them 4 times. Mind you. they were supposed to get back to me and one would think a little bit of respect and empathy would prevail for the simple fact that my time was wasted due to incompetency and rude staff. I came all the way from London. I emailed, called and no response. It’s no hard to communicate and let potential customers know what is going on. Very basic expectation. Don’t waste your time.... I’m now using Ezelet as management agents for a third rental property as I’ve previously been so satisfied with their service. 1 star is too kind. Absurdly unprofessional and rude company. The lettings staff I spoke to was completely disinterested in helping, when I mentioned I wanted to cancel a viewing I had booked due to finding another property with many more desired amenities for the same cost. The lettings agent became defensive and hostile, rather than promoting other properties available to let, which I only found out after pressing. I mentioned some of my personal information and she literally said she didn't care because she had other viewings, at which point I promptly said how unprofessional and ridiculous the attitude was and bit her good day. I am glad to not be working with a company like this, and putting my trust in people that, for lack of a better description, could not care less.... Read more

However, there are still problems that some estate agents or landlords don't or won't accept those of us that are on housing benefits without a guarantor. Been trying to rent a place, and i can't believe it takes 3 weeks to do this. It was also the referencing companies fault, Homelet. They would email me the same stupid questions over and over again that I do not have the answer for about my guarantors. They also have the nerve to email me saying that my referencing is outstanding and that I would have to chase them, even though i have been chasing them for a week. They don't even want to call you. Instead of doing the guarantor details first to see you are able to rent the flat, they will of course take the security deposit and send emails saying that your guarantor has failed, following with more stupid emails and then refusing to refund some deposit back for the complete waste of time and unprofessionalism. They can't even give me the contact details of a Manager so I can give a complaint. 0 stars. that's all i can say.... Read more

Awful agency to be avoided at all costs: 8 months later we don't know anything about the deposit when according to the law the tenant has to be informed withing the first 30 days, people enter in the house without permission, 5 months with a short circuit putting the tenant life at risk and not being able to cook, etc...... Been more than 23 days since contract finished and still haven’t gotten any update on the deposit return or deductions invoice. Keep telling us that they are waiting for landlord. They do not take account from the perspective of the tenant. As a student we are so tired of not being taken seriously. Some student tenants need their deposit to make payments for their bills. For my last house, got full deposit on the same day, our contract finished (obviously was not ezelet).... Read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU ARE A STUDENT. I never once spoke to the landlord of the house i was trying to rent. The company demand extensive and instrusive information such as passports, utility bills and ID on both you and your guarantors which scared people off renting aswell as not being asked for by any independent private landlords, making finding tenants near impossible. At points I didn't know whether I should contact Ezelet or Homelet as so little information is provided in addition to a near £450 holding deposit on one such property. This is my first time renting through Eze Let. Everything went so swimmingly from the video viewing right up until I picked the keys up. My main point of contact is Donna and she has been so helpful! If I have any problems or questions, she will never leave an e-mail for any longer than a few hours max. In the last 4 years I have rented through Ezelet. I have had an amazing experience with them and any problems or issues that had arisen throughout the 2 tenancies I have had with them has been sorted within the 24/48 hour period and contact had been made throughout keeping myself updated with progress along the way. The staff have always been amazing especially Ross, Brooke, Ella and Donna. Possibly Illegal raising of rents/hidden fee due to "having a pets" wanted to charge and extra £240 a year for a tiny dog.. along with the holding deposit and 1 months deposit. Big red flags avoid. With regards to the response. You would charge and extra £720 over 3 years say then still have the audacity to dip your hands into the deposit. I'm not sure if it's legal so I am reporting you to the financial ombudsman service... Read more

These were the agents for a flat that is next to ours, in a heavily student populated area. The agent who visited was really polite and helpful, and did all he could to assist in keeping the block secure. Thank you so much to the agent I met today, I really appreciate what you did to help me and the information you provided. Just to note:,less than preferable tenants can happen to anyone, no matter what agency you are with: make sure you take out insurance, landlords. The agents can only do what the law allows them to. There are a growing number of unscrupulous tenants who have no respectable values or sense of decency.
