Really impressed with everyone I spoke to at Hamptons, especially Lucy Martin! She was incredibly helpful and professional throughout our rental search, communication was fantastic and she had a really personal approach towards us which really impressed us in comparison to other letting agents. Probably one of the worst lettings teams we’ve had the opportunity to interact with. Very unresponsive, very uncooperative, and in general displaying behaviour that is very unprofessional for a company the size of Hamptons. As things stand, I would avoid if given the opportunity.
Update : This review was immediately picked up as you can see from the response below. After emailing Natalie picked up the issue and quickly rectified it. Thank you customer support team for your proactiveness and responsiveness. I have since removed the 1 star.

I'm very pleased with the work done by Ed and Sam at Hamptons during the sale of my house. They were very professional from the first moment we met, right through to completion and always kept me updated on progress.
My house wasn't a quick & easy sale due mostly to the market downturn, but Hamptons provided me with more than I expected - both in their professional service and final sale price.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others desiring more of a concierge service than a typical high street estate agency. Ed and Sam took all the worry out of what is usually a very stressful time!

Usually reviews take the form of either outstanding service or incredibly poor. It's safe to say this is most certainly the former as the dedication both Ed and Sam put into the process of marketing and selling our house was way beyond our expectations. Their knowledge and tact used throughout really was a pleasure to experience first hand and the sheer unwavering professionalism was a delight.
The countless calls, emails and text messages I send were all dealt with quickly and efficiently, and I never got the impression that they were bothered by my sometimes constant badgering.
I couldn't be happier having chosen Hamptons over competitors (their price was better too).

Actually we were quite anxious as our Airbnb stay would end soon. We asked for a few viewings and Hamptons team reacted promptly. They showed us a few flats and the renting process was so smooth. We launched the sale of our large duplex apartment near the Kilburn High Road at a bad moment. Show day was the day following Kwasi Kwarteng's kamikaze 'budget'. Potential buyers were spooked and hard to coax out of the woodwork. But Hamptons were able to match our property with a suitable buyer, at a fair price. This was not easy for an unusual home with a large garden (for inner London) that had not been on the market for nearly 37 years. Ed and Sam handled the very protracted negotiations with subtlety and persistence. Always optimistic and cheerful, they helped maintain a momentum that might have flagged. It was a pleasure to deal with them at a personal level and I have no hesitation in recommending their firm, which in the event I had preferred to their nearby rival whose pitch was also very organized and competitive. I worked with Ellie on buying my flat in Kilburn. She was awesome!
I was lucky in that the first place she showed me I fell in love with. But she had similar properties as well.
She then helped me get a surveyor and was in contact constantly over WhatsApp (much the best way) throughout the entire process. She was efficient without being fussy (I hate fuss) and calm and cheerful the entire time.
Hamptons always seem to get the best properties in my experience, especially in NW6. Go to them first; you’ll save yourself a lot of time and hassle.

We found Ed Bloom (and his team) to be highly effective, particularly when one or two title problems emerged and caused some delay and disruption: Ed was sensible, knowledgeable about local properties and their values, easy to deal with, utterly professional, and entirely respectful throughout. No communication by the agency, they keep failing their own deadlines- very disappointed and they do not inspire confidence in the way that this is handled. Contracts with all other agencies I’ve interacted with are signed and complete maximum 48hours after all checks cleared- these guys are abysmally slow with 2 weeks + in waiting.

We instructed Hamptons (previously Greene & Co) to sell our flat in August 2019. We saw 4 estate agents in advance of instructing them. The other agents recommended a similar asking price but suggested they would be happy to settle with a much lower offer, whereas Ed Bloom reassured us that they would strive for more. A little more effort on their side definitely paid off for us.
Not only did they manage to have 4 offers close to asking (and above what we expected) within 3 weeks, they also made it a personal and pleasant experience. We were able to communicate directly with Ed Bloom if required - who was approachable, honest and friendly – and they had potential buyers in mind that they contacted straight away.

We used Hamptons International (formerly Greene and Co.) to sell our flat in West Hampstead. We obtained quotes and had visits from four estate agents and chose Hamptons because we very much liked Ed Bloom’s positivity, experience of the market and clear strategy for the sale of our flat and generally liked him as a person. Now having exchanged we are very pleased with the decision we made. His valuation was realistic, unlike some of the other estate agents who visited and the final offer we obtained was very much in line with this. As well as the whole Hamptons International team who did a great job showcasing our flat, we also were incredibly appreciative of the great job Cheryl Brown did, who was the Hamptons International sales coordinator. Once we had agreed the sale, Cheryl was in constant contact between us and the solicitors involved in the chain. Selling a flat is never an easy process and without her experience, knowledge of leases and support I’m not sure if the sale would have occurred before Christmas. Cheryl acted as a efficient communication channel between all parties involved and this helped immensely as she explained how things worked, helped progress outstanding items such as Camden searches and dealt with potentially complicated obstacles along the way. It really opened my eyes to the importance of her role in the exchange and completion process. Lastly I wanted to mention the service provided by both Ed and Cheryl which was above and beyond what I expected. What really impressed me was how they were available for calls outside office hours (e.g. once on a Sunday, once at 9pm and also on their day off), while this is something I would never insist on, I am immensely grateful for this. I would recommend the Hamptons International team for anyone looking to buy/sell and will definitely use their services in future.

I sold my flat through this branch and my experience with them was extremely positive. They handled every issue during the sale process quickly and professionally, with good communication with myself and the buyers as well. They have "sale progressors" which follow the process from start to end and make sure everything goes well and communication is flowing between all parties, including the solicitors. Cheryl, the sale progressor who handled my sale, was in particular extremely experienced, helpful and crucial to push the sale through, which was going slow until she took over and started chasing people involved. I am selling my property in NW3. The following issues occurred when I contracted with the West Hampstead (WH) office:
- photographer dropped something on my floor and chipped the wood;
- feedback for viewings took three weeks to be given to me, only to be told the buyer wasn't interested in the location of my property;
- A week after signing the contract with the WH office, I was told that the marketing was going to be taken over by the Belsize Park (BP) office (which is much further away from my property);
- The BP office informed me that I had significantly over valued the property, despite the WH having priced it the week before (i.e. one of the offices messed up on pricing)
- I didn't feel that the BP office were particularly interested in assisting, and it was abundantly clear that the WH team weren't going to be helping (nobody from the WH team has ever contacted me since they passed the property to the BP team);
- Conversations with the BP office were extremely strained and I did not get the impression they were very motivated to sell the property;
- After realising that things were not up to scratch I requested to terminate the agreement and asked that all marketing be taken down immediately. They took a week to respond. The manager of the WH branch simply ignored me.
- Four weeks after the contract was terminated, the WH team still kept photos of my property in their shop front. I emailed them requesting that it be taken down. I received no response and it was not actioned. Finally after going into the branch someone in their lettings team assisted and removed it.
Overall, I got the impression that they were understaffed because why else would they simply ignore their clients and pass them to different offices. I believe the BP team wanted to undervalue to the property so they wouldn't need to try very hard to sell it, and they would still get paid. I didn't appreciate the tone that one agent took with me as it came across rather patronising and bored, I don't know if that was his intention.
On the whole, I would advise against contracting with them.

Everything seems right, once agent fee is paid, you need to stay away from you deposit for weeks.
Spent two years with them was bad experience. Well today, i asked landlady, its been three weeks, may i know what is going on with our deposit. I have sent emails and emails to greene and co but no reply.
I got referred to monsters person in their account dept name Shitryl.
Without being polite on phone and she listens to me about emails i have sent, she has started throwing orders,
NO ONE TOLD ME TO RELEASE YOUR DEPOSIT, I WANT YOU TO GO BACK TO LANDLORD AND BRING ME CONFIRMATION. I AM TELLING YOU THE PROCEDURE TO FOLLOW.
I mean you are holding my 3k deposit and look at the way you are ordering me, i have the landlady text message, who gave me your details to call.
Anyways, i hope i get my deposit back and wouldn't recommend anyone to use their service unless you have attitude to match Shitryl standards ;)

This is a review of Greene and Co. But really - as with most reviews of letting agencies, it’s really a review of an individual since that’s who you meet, talk to and interact with.
In our case it was Emily Morrell, over the course of a number of months Emily showed us a number of properties in West Hampstead- each time she was open, polite, courteous, on time (all too rare!) and most importantly honest.
She always gave the impression of understanding what our needs were and what was achievable - for instance what a landlord would he prepared to change or accept. It’s all too rare to find a letting agent who really knows the stock they have.
Even though we probably messed Emily about more than she deserved she was always smiling, polite and positive- even to the point of coming up and saying hi when we saw us out and about in her free time.
Ultimately we couldn’t find the right thing for us in the area so had to move outside of West Hampstead - but that’s not down to lack of effort on Emily’s behalf and she’ll be the first point of call when we look to move back.

We used Greene and Co to sell our 3 bedroom flat. The process was explained well and we were offered sound advice as to how to market the flat best. This included providing us with a lot of comparatives, which was helpful in setting the price.
Viewings were managed efficiently and communicatively; the one issue we had during the sale process with muddy footprints on the carpet was resolved the next day by Scott, who was professional and responsive throughout the process (which turned out to be very short). I would definitely recommend.

I contacted the Kilburn office regarding a flat they advertised last week asking to book a viewing.
I spoke on the phone with Emily, who told me that due to incompatibility with moving-in dates (we were looking for someone one month and a half from now), she did not wish to show me the flat.
When I said that we could be flexible with dates if we liked the flat, she kept on denying the viewing and in a rude manner she put the blame on the landlord would want tenants immediately.
She then offered to show me similar flats, but I explained that me and my partner particularly liked that one and that I would keep an eye in their website and call them back if we found anything of interest. Emily kept calling me back about possible matches and subscribed me to their mailing list.
I tried to unsubscribe twice, but kept receiving their emails. I called them and asked to be unsubscribed, but the agent was very rude and hang up the phone!
It's a shame to have to deal with rude estate agents who do not seem willing to help you with such a frustrating process. And it's also a shame because this agency seems to advertise very nice flats.

I don't normally write reviews. I've been hunting for properties for myself n my friends since 2015 n dealt with more than 10 agencies in London. People always say Politicians n estate agents are 2 professionals that you can't trust. However I would have to say my experience with Faruk Miah in Greene&Co was incredibly impressed!
I'm an overseas buyer and not familiar with all the details about the purchasing procedures. Faruk Miah has been not just exceptionally helpful, but in a very professional way. From my first viewing, the day my offer was accepted till completion, I had numerous issues with the property I intended to buy, I couldn't walk through it without his help. Especially when I had the home survey report that full of category 3 issues, I would have given up the purchasing. Faruk Miah was not pushy or tried to fool me around with some unknown information. He responded to my call promptly even I was in New York n answered every of my questions. He's very knowledgeable and explained to me every details patiently. He wouldn't give me the information that he's in doubt, he would try to find the right information instead. When I had issues with my solicitor or the seller, he worked really hard and in fact he did a great job liaising with all parties to get things move forward.
It's hard to find an estate agent with such work ethic n high professional standard nowadays. I'm very happy with the service I had during the whole process of my current purchasing.
I'm looking forward to working with Faruk Miah again for my future purchasing for my friends and myself. Thank you Faruk!

From the point of valuation and initial meeting to the regular updates with the sales progression to completion, we were very impressed with the high standard of service. Booked an appointment and confirmed to view a property with one of the staff named Patrick.
However, when I arrived at the property, Patrick did not show up. When I called him again, I was told that he could not make it and had to send someone else to cover. The cover person does not know well about the property. The property shown to me also does not match what they listed on the website.
This is not professional at all.
We saw other agent showing customers the same development. The agent came on time with a lot of detailed information. What a contrast! How I wish I had contact the other agent.

We had a really good experience with Saleem Kamal, who was our agent whilst looking for our new home and would recommend him highly. From the very start he was very engaging and spent time understanding our specific needs and timelines. Based on that, he only showed us relevant properties (unlike other agents who merely run through the inventory they have). What also helped us set a really good rapport with Saleem was that he not only sought regular feedback from us (after every viewing), but also tailored the next viewings based on that. This really helped us narrow our search quite quickly and move to the sales stage.
Saleem has been very helpful throughout the process, he is very responsive, prompt, professional and excellent at explaining the nuances of the process. end to end. I suppose this really sets him apart from the other agents we have worked with.

Saleem Kamal was the agent I dealt when doing viewings with Greene and Co. and I can honestly say that I don’t think I had the pleasure of dealing with any agent who was as courteous and genuine as he was. I always had the impression that he had my best interests at heart, and importantly he was very up front and honest on all matters which put my mind at rest. I did some viewings with other agents within Greene and Co. and no disrespect to them but I always felt more comfortable when Saleem did them. He is very thorough and just as proactive about me getting a property as I was. Sometimes agents lose interest in clients and their property searches but Saleem is absolutely not one of them. I don't normally leave feedback but I wanted to say a big thank you to Saleem Kamal for how he put me and my wife at ease when we were house hunting. Usually, when looking for a house is one of the most stressful experiences but Saleem made sure he has all the answers from local schools, to crime rate neighbourhood, parks playgrounds leisure facilities and that was just the begininng. They have good local knowledge and are easy to work with. I had a poor experience with the New Homes department, but that is a separate business. All at the main agency were exceptional. I worked mostly with Saleem who has an uncanny ability to work out exactly what each client wants, which means no endless Mini Cooper journeys seeing properties that don't tick the boxes. Instead, we just saw a few that were ideal. Saleem was very patient and took his time - he also clearly enjoys his job amd the local area and that counts for a lot as well.

This is my second review for Greene & Co West Hampstead. Usually I wouldn’t bother to come back and review again however I was so impressed I had to share the experience. I was looking to sell my place and planned to market through various agencies, Greene & Co however came across as the most knowledgeable in the area which was impressive compared to a number of their counterparts who frankly were shambolic. Having known Soroush Akhavan Prado through my first deal with Greene & Co I gave him a shout and from there on it was plain sailing. The offer came through and Soroush again with his persistence saw it to the end and really went the extra mile in situations where other agents would have simply washed their hands off it.

It's hard to say "avoid" because if Greene has a listing or is managing the property then it may be a necessity to deal with them but be very careful and make sure to document everything in writing. I had a very bad experience with them over the course of four years in a property. I was the tenant and they were the agent and property manager. I asked for an unfurnished property and arrived to move in to find the house exactly how the previous tenants had left it. Furniture, kitchen items, trash, etc everywhere. Greene had done nothing to prepare the property for me. Over the course of four years I generally could avoid them but if something needed fixing, it would take an average of 3-4 weeks to get done and generally would only be a temporary fix before it broke again. Most shocking of all, five weeks after moving out, they still have not given me back my deposit and are coming up with deceitful reasons to reduce the amount they return. Issues they were unable to fix are now being charged to me. "Missing items" that were left by the previous tenants (which they eventually had to take away) are being charged to me. Normal wear and tear, including marks on the walls that I paid for to be painted when I moved in, are being charged. I've never dealt with such unprofessional agents in London and will never use Greene again in any capacity.

The are in charge massive rent but the flat is constantly has brocket elements because everything from the sinks, to the appliances is poorly made and they refuse to fix them when they brake. If they do fix them after months of waiting then they do not do it well.

I tried to sell my house via another estate agent in West Hampstead but changed to Greene & Co after the other agent was unable to take a sale through to exchange at an acceptable price (and didn't keep me fully informed of the progress of the process).
I dealt with Peter and Scott at Greene & Co who were enthusiastic and very user friendly. They were always contactable and kept me informed of the progress of viewings and developments in the process. They also gave realistic and useful advice on pricing and marketing.
They quickly found a buyer and, although the process took longer than expected through no fault of theirs, we have recently successfully exchanged.
Selling a property (or buying one for that matter) is a horrible and stressful business, but Peter and Scott did their best to manage the process. I would certainly recommend them.

Scott Finn was simply amazing! Buying any property in London is so difficult these days, and for a busy person such as myself it is almost impossible. In this regard Scott was excellent – from the first meeting we had Scott understood my time pressures and also took time to understand exactly what I was looking for. If not for Bonnie's tireless pursuit of solicitors and sellers I'd be now living on the street. Or in an asylum. Or a prison. I went in and what a fortuitous move it turned out to be. I was introduced to Scott Finn who LISTENED and noted my requirements. Scott was completely professional (which sadly is not he current state of affairs with some agents) and a stress free relationship developed. Tried to buy a flat through Greene and Co West Hampstead. They overstated the floorplan size by 15% so the whole sales and bidding process was done under false sales specifications. We won the bid but then pointed out that the basis of the sale was false and they didnt respond. They put the flat back on the market without notifying us with still the incorrect information, knowingly decieiving unsuspecting buyers. After looking at their other flats online we realised their floorplans are mainly overstated in size and typically if a buyer goes through Greene and Co they will overpay between £100,000 and £200,000 for the flat. These people cannot be trusted and their work ethic stinks!

Rude, unprofessional, liars. Beware of this agency, they just want your money and don't care about you at all. They're extremely incompetent and weren't even able to negotiate a letting. After being treated like nothing, we decided to pull out and obviously they kept our deposit (£1000) not after shouting at us on the phone. Absolutely the worst.

After a long and frustrating house hunt, I finally managed to find a place through Faruk at Greene & Co. I found him to be courteous, helpful and engaging - his approach was much appreciated, and was certainly an example for some of the other 'estate agents' I encountered in the market.

Being accompanied with my friend I went to this agency and it really saved me from being panically looking at properties. I rented an amazing studio around the lovely West Hampstead area at great values. People in the office were truly nice and helpful. Highly recommended!

I don't understand how these guys have won any awards, my experience with them has been pretty poor - at least on the rental side. The rental manager/assistant called Arti is particulary poor, though others are not much better. They often lose documents, don't return phone calls, provide incorrect information about your existing rental, and do nothing for the renter. I'd avoid using these guys if you are looking for rental property!
