My experience with Jack Taggart & Co has been extremely disappointing.
On 9 July 2026, after viewing a property, I was asked whether I could pay 6 months rent in advance to secure the property. As I wasn't able, he settled with me paying £3,900 which consisted of 1 month rent and deposit. I was later informed that the property would no longer be available. Despite being given several dates on which I was told my money would be refunded, the payments did not materialise, and I had to repeatedly chase for updates.
I also requested details of the tenancy deposit protection scheme that I was told held my deposit, but I did not receive the information I requested.
The delays caused significant financial stress and affected my ability to secure alternative accommodation. As I was unable to resolve the matter directly, I have now commenced a small claim to recover the money.
This review reflects my personal experience.

Although several months have now passed, I still feel it is important to share my experience and advise anyone considering using this agency to be very careful.
In my experience, getting my rent paid to me on time was extremely difficult. I had to repeatedly chase the agency for months to receive rent that was owed to me. Communication and the handling of payments were very disappointing.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend this agency to landlords and would strongly advise anyone considering using their services to do their research carefully and make sure they fully understand how rent payments and property management will be handled.

As tenants, we had a very disappointing experience with this agency. We would not recommend them to either tenants or landlords. They collected our rent but failed to pass it on to the landlord for several months. They also failed to protect our tenancy deposit within the required 30-day legal timeframe, causing unnecessary stress and concern. Based on our experience, we strongly advise others to think carefully before trusting this agency.

Absolutely fantastic service from Jack and his team especially George. Having had much frustration when selling properties through other agents in the past year, what I got from Jack was a breath of fresh air. From valuation, to a huge number of viewings to a sale in such a short space of time was exceptional. The Advice and communication was first class, we never had to chase for anything and were kept updated at every stage. Jack’s knowledge of the property market in the local area is second to none. Even the Solicitor Jack recommended has been on it with the conveyancing. All told, a superb experience and would highly recommend to anyone, buying or selling

Avoid this agency. Our experience has been extremely disappointing. They have still not returned money owed to us after more than three months, despite repeated attempts to resolve the issue. I would not recommend their services and hope others don’t have to go through the same experience.

I would not recommend this agency to anyone. They collected several months of rent in advance from the tenant, but it has now been three months and they still have not paid us the money that is owed to us. Communication has been poor, and the delay is completely unacceptable. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this agency.

highly recommend avoiding this agency. While they are prompt in taking your rent money, getting that money transferred to the landlord takes time I have been waiting for over six weeks just to have my rent processed and paid out. It is completely unacceptable to have to wait this long and constantly chase them for money that belongs to you. Very disappointing service.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but other landlords should be aware of my experience with this agency.
The agency has collected rent from my tenant for the past four months, yet I have not received any of the money owed to me. During this time, I have sent numerous emails and made repeated phone calls seeking an explanation and a payment timeline. Communication has been extremely poor. Messages are ignored, calls are not returned, and when contact is made, I am repeatedly told that payment will be made “today” or “tomorrow.” Those assurances have been given for months without any action.
Four months without receiving rent that has already been collected is completely unacceptable. The lack of transparency, accountability, and professional communication has caused significant stress and inconvenience.
I would strongly urge any landlord considering this agency to carry out thorough due diligence before entrusting them with their property or rental income. I hope this review prompts the agency to resolve the outstanding payments immediately and begin communicating honestly with its clients.

Generally an extremely poor service from day one, very unresponsive and unhelpful. Once again no call back today as requested to resolve an ongoing issue that nobody seems to be interested. I phoned the office, I was told Jack Taggart would call me back in 15 -20 minutes, an hour later I called back to be informed he's gone home for the day, hardly surprising. The last several times that I have asked to be called, nobody has contacted me. I have never dealt with such an unhelpful lettings company.

Staff are friendly enough till they outright lie about the lease length on a property to the point you already have solicitors ready to make the purchase. Thankfully a friend looked for us and found the lease length was next to worthless.
When I questioned them about this they insisted they were always transparent with the lease length. But the various messages I have saying different would suggest different. Was told 97 years multiple times. Ended up being 80 years. Would have got trapped into the purchase too if there wasn't people looking out for this exact thing.
Apart from that communication was next to terrible. I will never recommend them. They're nice till you call them out on their lack of integrity!
