Unfortunately I had a terrible experience with this estate agent I went with next 2 buy (after 4 weeks of utter farcical viewings with JF ) who where kind considerate Professional everything Jan Forster isn't they will write a reply to this spouting nonsense please don’t get any more stress going with them and read the reviews on trust pilot etc they are awful I would like to give 0 stars but 1 is the lowest (if I ever see them visiting a home I will chap the door and tell them not to go with JF I feel that strongly about how poor this company is .
The property ombudsman is paid for by these estate agents and always side with them
This is just my 100% honest opinion of this estate agent
If Jan reply below stating how professional they are blah blah blah I personally have to disagree Please choose another agent .

Currently renting from Jan Forster. Easy enough process getting the property in the first place, however, communication and service has been quite poor since we have moved in. Repairs not completed for 2 months, we have contacted the office on several occasions and get the same “we’ll call you back” response then radio silence. Managed to book in a repair man once however they picked the one day we told them we wouldn’t be in so had to reschedule.

Shocking estate agents. Avoid at all cost! They want to tie you in for 12 weeks then do nothing other than post on right move and when you complain and ask to leave charge you £1,800 for not selling the house and threaten you with legal action.

I would prefer to have given them 0/5 had there been an option. Avoid like the plague! This firm is utterly appalling. I rented my property through them fully let and managed. I signed their contract, which they then failed to carry out and breached a number of terms and conditions, by not completing set tasks that they were paid to do. They caused me a huge financial loss because of numerous administrative errors, that a child would make. There is a real lack of care and attention to detail, they only care about themselves not their clients. They are dishonest and untrustworthy, cowboys in the trade. I would strongly advise you don’t use them, save yourself wasted time, effort and distress. I have complained to the Ombudsman about their behaviour and how they conduct their business, it is wholly unacceptable. Please use an alternative firm and save yourself the brother. I was highly dissatisfied.

Lorraine Robinson at tynemouth branch was amazing from start to finish, I was concerned that we wouldn’t be able to rent the property we wanted, she went above and beyond speaking with the landlord on our behalf and had the tenancy agreed subject to references. Every time I called the office she listened to everything I had to say and offered help where she could. I must say that even though I didn’t end up renting through these guys, I still had a really great experience with them. I went go view a flat, the lady who showed me found was lovely and so helpful. I found somewhere a little closer to where I wanted to be and when I let them know I’d be going through someone else, they were so understanding and wished me luck. I also really appreciated how after the viewing, they checked in on me but didn’t bombard me with emails like some other agents do. I still regularly check their website for properties as I’d love to work with them again in the future.

The enquires from potential buyers were handled efficiently with an effective online booking system for viewings. Following an agreement on the sale, Lindsey took control of the process and was diligent, responsive and persistent in keeping the deal alive, bringing it to fruition under very difficult COVID conditions.
