Unfortunately a poor experience before even getting your foot in the door. Dealt with Aron, but wish I hadn't. Unprofessional and unresponsive. I said I was interested in submitting an offer, and enquired as to the process but then heard nothing. When I expressed my displeasure with receiving no contact for 3 days he responded with "sorry for not replying straight after the viewing". It is obviously concerning that he has not realised responding to letting enquiries is his job, and a passive aggressive response in a professional environment is unacceptable. He also informed me he submitted my offer and it was overlooked for someone else, didn't even get to the point of giving him an offer to submit though... because I'd been aired...
Edit: Since posting I've since received a call from Aron to apologise and give assurances the procedures were followed.

If you’re a student, please avoid this company and Ryan specifically at all costs. 0 issues in our house such as a damaged back gate (security risk) and a damaged and crumbling ceiling due to a shower leak were sorted in the year we lived there. Most recently they are avoiding our emails regarding the release of our deposits and refusing to even give us any information regarding it. Terrible Experience

First I would like to say I was a huge fan of this estate seller back in 2021 when I first encountered the estate agent. HOWEVER Maddie Parker you have overstepped the MARK!! Jointly purchased property was put on the market I believe in October 2023 2 months later I received an email the 2nd of it's kind from Maddie Parker insisting we reduce the asking price on the property!! When in fact it is not your decision to suggest!! Clearly as a sales progressor I understand her role is to make necessary suggestions HOWEVER it's been on the market for 2 months and already it's being insisted on us reducing the property price in value due to the market!! Which today Tuesday 20th December there have been suggestions the market interest rate will potentially fall which will make mortgage rates slightly more affordable and may encourage people to afford and make an offer. I felt like the decision around the discussion was taken out of my hands and they were trying to take advantage of the social circumstances surrounding the reason for selling the property. Please I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND JEFFERY ROSS FOR THIS REASON!! Too pushy standards have gone down hill the email Maddie wrote the first like stated "The market has been incredibly frustrating" who wants to open an email with a line like this in reference to the background of the market in the selling of their home!! Very unprofessional to be using strong language like this. MARK MY WORDS DO NOT ???? GO with them!!!

We were tenants with this agency for 2 and a half years and never caused them or a landlady any troubles. But now after we moved out 5 weeks ago it's so difficult to have our deposit back. And one of the reasons is that this agency simply ignores our letters and calls and doesn't voluntary provide any updates on our situation. We don't know how much a landlady wants to hold, the dates or how long we should wait for a response - nothing. As there was noone to provide us a communication or support we had to initiate a DPS procces.

By far the worst estate agent I have ever dealt with...
Left it until the agreed letting date to conduct necessary safety checks on the property I was due to move into (they had over 3 and a half weeks to do this), after receiving no contact and being left in the dark all day despite multiple calls and emails, Jeffrey Ross reached out saying they we may not be able to move in that day....
The following day we received some long winded email explaining that the apartment had a serious and dangerous electrical fault and that they did everything they could, even though they likely knew about it weeks ago.....
Please bare in mind we had arranged transport, removals and leaving our then accomodation for that day at the latest as Jeffrey Ross were fully aware... resulting in us encurring several charges and having to find somewhere to live on a few hours notice.
Jeffrey Ross were kind enough to explain that it was our fault because until we sign the contract and pick up the keys we shouldn't have made any arrangements... even though we were assured it would all be sorted, when it wasn't, everybody at Jeffrey Ross seemed to vanish into thin air... after nothing but poor communication and shoddy customer service we didnt even get an apology rather excuses and recommendations for more expensive apartments (which they would work effortlessly to get me into) given the past experience not likely...
Be wary of 5 star reviews, the vast majority are landlords who make very good money with Jeffrey Ross, you will find lots of reviews complaining about the communication and management of this company
All of this could have been avoided with better communication and customer service, if we would have received fair notice and been kept in the loop we could have prepared for what was to come, instead of losing time and money.

Our cooker's glass shattered and it took a month to replace. When, at the end of our tenancy we needed to pay additional fees Jeffrey Ross replied instantly.
It also took weeks of hassling to get a leak in the bathroom and ceiling fixed and literally months to get them to repair a leak in the roof, apparently i cared more about the property than the owner.
Edit: them finally replying to my review 4 months later whilst saying 'we take our reviews seriously' really illustrates my point better than I ever could have.

Submitted 2 offers for separate properties. Both significantly higher than asking price. In the one instance I was left without further contact for over 2 weeks at which it was me who called to enquire, wherein I learnt a different offer was accepted more than a week prior. In the other instance I was left without contact for over a month. I called on several occasions each time being told they didn't understand what was going on with the seller/sale. The property was removed from the website and still no contact. After a good while longer I called again to discover the property was purchased by the current tenant with that sale agreed at least a month prior.
As a first time buyer, submitting an offer is a massive deal. Especially in the recent economic climate. I maxed myself out each time and was prompt and prepared at each turn of the process at their requests for documentation, ID checks, and AIP. So whilst collated and handed them proof of my commitment, endeavours, and prepardness, they couldn't even give me a call. Plus, they goaded me at every turn to increase my offer price, which, through anxiety of losing the property, had me double my addition on the asking price - which was fruitless anyway.
It was a shambles. Disrespectful, dishonest, inconsiderate and selfish.

Sent an email to ask ONE simple question about a property for sale, to which I received an automated reply which was like a prying questionnaire asking me my life story, all before they would answer a simple question.
I suppose they think it makes the business seem 'contemporary' and 'modern'..? I think it's simply lazy and impersonal. Why do estate agents have to ask you so many questions about yourself before they answer one question themselves.. no other business/industry does this, what is it with slimey, greedy estate agents..?

Terrible for tenants
We rented a house through the JeffreyRoss Pontcanna branch back in March 2020. The problems began when there were maintenance issues and when we were given notice to move out due to the landlord wishing to sell the house.
There was a tap leaking in the back garden which we reported and a plumber was supposed to come and fix it. Not only did the plumber not turn up twice (with no communication), he also turned up unannounced with no notice. When this was brought up with JeffreyRoss we were told in an email that 'in an ideal world' the plumber should have contacted us. They completely ignored the fact that legally you must give 24 hours notice for someone to come to your house.
We reported multiple issues that were ignored, such as the garden fence being blown down in a storm.
In March 2021 we were given notice to vacate as the landlord wished to sell the house. Despite being tenants with JeffreyRoss and struggling to find an alternative place to rent we were offered no assistance.
We would get phone calls multiple times a week asking about viewings. This was difficult for myself and my partner as we were working from home a majority of our time due to the pandemic.
It got to the point where I would give a date every two weeks for a large portion of the day to carry out viewings. I had hoped this would ease the issue but I would still get opportunist phone calls asking whether they could do a viewing, even with only a couple of hours notice. Even when we secured a new place and told them our moving out date I still had phone calls up to two days left of moving out asking for viewings.
Since then it has been four weeks with no contact since moving out. Both myself and my partner have phoned trying to see whether the paperwork for the bond to be returned has been completed and despite reassurances that we would be contacted back we have heard nothing.
Overall communication and quality of service has been very poor despite branding themselves as a 'high quality'. Would not recommend.

We rented with Jeffrey Ross for just over a year. Hands down the best estate agents we've rented from. Always felt like both the landlord and the tenants are important to them. Everyone was always really responsive and friendly to emails/calls from initial viewings, during the tenancy and in our final days. Maintenance issues were always addressed quickly and we were always given plenty of notice when someone needed to pop round. Hope we get the chance to rent from them again :)

Jeffrey Ross Pontcanna were great from the start. From conducting viewings with a helpful and friendly team, Abbie was particularly helpful in terms of finding us the perfect property.
While the landlord managed the property directly, JR's move in inspection, and return of the bond at the end of the tenancy was seamless - I've never had a bond returned on the day of tenancy closure before. Would definitely use JR again!

The letting agency gave keys to someone to enter our property without any warning. When they were found in the house neither person was wearing a face covering. We are in the middle of a COVID pandemic and this is therefore against the law (despite the illegal entry to the property without notice).

We sent a list of problems to the maintenance team of this agency three weeks ago and we have also had to call a few times because they did not respond. The only progress has been a visit from a contractor to take photos that were already provided in the initial email. Some of these issues are basic necessities for peaceful enjoyment of a property and it is disappointing that these issues have lingered for such a long time. Hopefully this issue is resolved soon.
Update:
One month later and only now are the issues being resolved, after I should add we gave them notice and a new tenant was found.
But that is not the end of issues with this hopeless agency, oh no. This afternoon during a work call I was disturbed by two people who let themselevs into the house not wearing face masks after Jeffrey Ross gave them a key and did not warn us nor ask if anyone in the property was displaying covid symptoms. Absolutely apaulling. After we phoned to complain they said it was an oversight to give them the keys. The excuse was that the landlord thought the property was empty, but surely they knew? Although I am sure they would realise it was occupied if I weren't to pay my rent for the duration of my contract!
The decline in quality of Jeffrey Ross over the past year has been remarkable. It now feels like I am dealing with Stath from Stath lets flats.

I contacted Jeffrey Ross this week and I'm moving into my flat next Monday. I couldn't be happier, all the girls were lovely, efficient and hard working. The gentleman, Jim, that showed me the flat was very kind as well.

Very unprofessional response from the agent, she was late to the viewing and then was really rude and annoyed at the fact that I couldn't make the viewing despite I had explained my emergency circumstances. So as she said very unpolished that I should use "Google and would take me 2 seconds" here's my review of the agency. On top of that she hung up the phone before I had a chance to rebook nor gave me that option.

Friendly, efficient and professional company. A girl called Flo Bailey in the Pontcanna office, Wales was particularly caring and attentive. She went out of her way to find a year's accommodation for my friend's son and his friend (their first time outside India and away from their families) which meant so much to me and to my friend. I often found her still woprking after 7:30pm!!! There's dedication for you! If only all Estate Agents were like Flo (although I'd rather she didn't work so late!)
Estate Agents often get a bad rap for being cold, uncaring and driven by commission only. Flo and Jeffrey Ross are not like that at all! I hope Flo gets the recognition and promotion/reward that she deserves and I have no hesitation in recommending her or her team if you need to sell your house or find some accommodation as she genuinely cares and treats you like a member of her family. You're not just a number to her! You're someone who has asked her for help and she'll do the best she can to ensure you're looked after! Sorry for the late review Flo...I've been travelling constantly...I know that's not an excuse, but better late than never right? :)

Jeffrey Ross are by far the most professional, hard-working and efficient estate agents I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. At the end of 2017 our house was struggling to sell with a different agent, meaning that we faced the gut-wrenching prospect of losing a house which we'd set our hearts on buying. After switching agents to JR, they promised that they would sell it within a week. They were true to their word. Minutes after the house went live online, they were already lining up viewings and five days after we switched agents to them, Jeffrey Ross sold our house at a price we were happy with. AMAZING.
I'd always been of the opinion that the agent selling a house doesn't really matter, that it's kind of irrelevant when all properties are listed online nowadays anyway. How wrong I was! Jeffrey Ross were absolutely leagues ahead in every way when comparing them to the initial agents who we signed with. They put all their efforts into marketing the property (photos, video tour etc) straightaway, and then used highly sales-oriented, professional agents to carry out the viewings. They evidently have access to lists of interested parties which our initial agent didn't. Their after sales service was both slick and personable... Jess and Laura in the office kept in touch on a regular (sometimes daily!) basis to let us know how the sale was progressing and keep us informed of developments. The contrast here between JR and our original agents was incredible: we were often met with silence from our first agents, or passed between team members who simply didn't know what the others were doing, but at Jeffrey Ross they were all so much more informed and far more professional.
The girls in the office really do deserve a huge amount of credit because while it may be Ross and Elliott gaining the sales most of the time, it's they who act as intermediary and carry on the relationship between the buyer and the seller. Their efficiency and friendly manner of working took away all of the stress of the buying and selling process and made life SO much easier! I would totally recommend Jeffrey Ross to anyone thinking of selling their house in the area and my only regret is that they weren't initially our first choice. Needless to say, we won't be making the same mistake if we ever come to sell again... there's only one agent I would ever use, and that's Jeffrey Ross. Thank you to all the team for selling our house so quickly and professionally. Without you, we'd have lost out on buying the dream house where I'm now sat.

Cannot recommend JeffreyRoss highly enough. From the valuation to completion, everything was super professional. The valuation, and ambition for our potential sale price, was spot on, and clearly based on up-to-date research - not just on past sales in our street but the general market trends and changes locally. We had four valuations from local agents, and there was no competition. Everything was smoothly handled for us, and when we needed advice and help during the process this was always given swiftly. The photographs of our house were amazing as was the 3D film - we had one offer based solely on this. We had one viewing day, ended up with carefully selected buyers for sealed bids, and broke the ceiling price for our street by some margin. Lovely buyers, stress-free process, great team to work with.

In short : Fine when there are no maintenance issues and you don't need to interact with them but terrible if there are maintenance issues. While some staff are very good others clearly do not care in the slightest and/or are disorganised.
More details:
I thought they would be a better agency to rent from as they gave the appearance of being more professional however like the vast majority of estate agents all they care about is getting your rent money, which I will mention, I always paid on time and never had an issue however there was a leak in the flat above mine that resulted in my flat’s bathroom being near unusable and it also tripped the electrics so the kitchen area was off, as a result no fridge/freezer or cooker. I informed Jeffery Ross that the water was leaking through the light fittings in the bathroom (I would call this an emergency). Incredibly the appointment booked to solve this was cancelled by Jeffery Ross and I spoke to some smug person over the phone who seemed incredibly nonchalant (because not being able to shower or cook is fine). His response was it wasn't their problem and Jeffery Ross' duty of care to tenants is non existent. So would I recommend them? No, unless you want to be treated like a second class citizen.
The other thing I will mention is on more than a few occasions Jeffery Ross had a very different understanding of 24 hours notice to me for flat viewings, 6pm the day before for a 10am viewing is not 24 hours not is phoning just before your offices close so someone is unable to phone back to cancel the less than 24 hour appointment any good.
My advice to anyone looking to rent in Cardiff, go private.
