They rented an apartment in Selby which was equipped with a washing machine. The property has old style windows which cannot be opened.
The washing machine broke, engineer said it was beyond repair.
Jigsaw wanted me to buy a new myself, hence breaching a legally binding contract. No reduction in rent.
When moved out, they wanted to charge cleaning the windows. These double-glazed windows had mold between the glasses and apparently wanted me to break the glass to clean them.
There was mold because the ventilation was substandard and the whole apartment a health risk due to the mold exposure.
This is how they treat customers.

Rent a flat from them and had nothing but problems. They are happy to take rent and represent a slum landlord and not fix things. Our shower doors were not safe and were not secure. The extractor fan didn't work in the bathroom and there was no window which caused mould and damp to my designer handbags and my new bed. Also caused mould and damp in the rest of the bedroom. Landlord refused to fix the extractor fan until I said we would take it further.
Then Jigsaw wanted us to show others around our flat even though it wasn't our flat bringing rented. This was an issue due to my partner working nights and they said they would let themselves in.
Had issues with flat above us and when I tried to follow it up I had a rude member of staff answer my call and then informed another member of staff who I was and said she's kicking off. (wasn't the case I was asking what would be done about the issue) Some members of staff have no communication skills.

Absolutely terrible estate agents!! Matt was fully aware of my circumstances (becoming homeless 1 week before Xmas with my 2 year old) I viewed the property which I may add wasn’t the one shown it the photos. Then after viewing decided to put an application in. I’m now 3 weeks in no phone call, no reply to txt messages to let me know what was happening regarding the application. If it wasn’t for the tenant herself letting me know she couldn’t move out, I wouldn’t know any different. If you are thinking of using this company to advertise your property then save your money and go elsewhere.. absolutely ridiculous! I didn’t even want to leave a 1 star but couldn’t leave this review without it!

Very friendly team, so many mistakes though, original listing price was wrong, critical information missed on original marketing online, poor communication about viewings, had to repeat information and remind them of certain things constantly surrounding viewings. Didn’t feel like they had any drive to sell the property or get us the best price for it, only action was to keep dropping the price.

Update - It did not. After spending time and money commuting to view, the application was rejected, reason given was that the landlord changed his mind about something they/the agency knew about before the viewing. Since then jigsaw have made it pretty crystal clear they aren't interested anymore.

Excellent service throughout the sale process by Team Jigsaw. Our sale was particularly difficult due to issues created by some of the other sellers, solicitors and estate agents in the chain. However Rebecca worked so hard trying to sort out the many issues others created, always following things up and responding to my calls. Its thanks to Rebecca that the sale completed. Where to start.
First property we went to rent through them paid deposit, signed contracts, 4 days before move date told property was no longer available to rent. We rented another property with them as stuck, now handed in months notice to find out its not a month apparently its up to 2 months. They ask tenants to do viewings for them and send contractors onto property without telling you. I found them wholly unprofessional and unreasonable. Not just to tenants but to landlords, my landlord will now loose out on the new rent rate for the property and also I as a landlord would be unhappy about my tenants doing viewings. I would not purchase or rent as a buyer, seller or tenant / landlord as I don't trust them, they just seem lazy and also they do not act in the clients best interests.

DO NOT TRUST JIGSAW
Rented a house through them for the last 4 years. The office is completely disorganised when it comes to inspections, maintenance.
If you want to be able to trust your estate agent - they have allowed a third party contractor entry to my home when we weren't in, despite me waiting for them all day Tuesday and they never turned up.
Jigsaw Move Estate Agents's excuse is that "the contractor said they had permission to enter" despite no permission being given.
They will let some random contractor in for a non-emergency reason just because they lied and said they were allowed in.
Our cat managed to escape because of this. My partner works nights sometimes and she could have been in bed sleeping when some random man unlocked the door and came in. We have valuables and private documents around.
They are completely unapologetic, don't really seem fussed about it either. Completely unorganised and mismanaged place.
This is after us being trouble-free tenants for 4+ years. Do not trust this company.

Lie through their teeth about properties being available. When asking about properties and questions they say they will speak to landlord and after chasing for days on end being told that the property was held by another individual the day I initially asked about it. Never got told for 4 days after even though I called every day. I have a feeling they don't even speak to landlords just can't be bothered. Such rude staff that basically make you sound like your bothering them. Best part is they then asked if there where any other properties I was interested in....why would i waste my time when you clearly can't run a business. Also heard from a mortgage advisor that the company have been nothing but trouble for one of her landlords who she works with so that says alot about the company. All in all avoid this place. Waste of time and money.

We are a professional couple (research scientist and teacher) in our 50s and rented a flat for a year via the Selby branch; whilst awaiting completion of our house purchase.
If you're looking forward to the prospect of a non-responsive landlord, failure to fix problems, spending 6 days in November without hot water or heating etc, then these folks are for you.
Personally, I wouldn't wish to have anything more to do with them!

would literally AVOID!! Unprofessional rude staff, all very young and very arrogant and cocky, applied for a house and put the deposit in was told no one else could apply once deposit was paid and everything, went back to hand something in and was told someone else has applied and the landlord wanted to see both applicants (this is illegal and against company policy) then we started to panic was told we’d receive a phone call regarding if successful or not within the next couple of days ( which there wasn’t going to be a problem as wages were over 2,000 and credit score ect and payslips and everything was in order) as soon as someone else applied even though we’d paid our deposit she was not interested in getting the last couple of bits she needed to show the landlord, a few days went by and we’d had to find something else as we heard nothing, in the space of her saying “ I’ll be in touch within the next day as the deposit was paid” we had viewed another property and moved in and even managed to settle in by the time she managed to get back to us and said the landlord is ok with our application and doesn’t need any references or anything? When I asked about the chances of us getting it when we’d paid deposit and then was informed someone elses application was also in even though they never paid the deposit they didn’t sound promising pretty rude and arrogant and not full of much hope at all. I called back and asked if I could speak to a manger, no call back and had nothing but attitude on the phone, so I drove into selby with my partner to speak to the “manger” which was an absolute laughing stock, she must of been no older than 21 had a vile attitude and was very cocky and had no clue about the terms and conditions regarding applying for a house and deposit etc, I calmly asked if we could just have our deposit back and withdraw as prior to this issue we have had a few issues with them but as time was getting closer to to the date we had to move out of our house that we’d just sold we had no option (luckily one came along other than this) we just wanted our deposit back and to leave it at that, to have her literally laughing in our faces and she replied “ urgh here we go” and then been told there was no chance of getting it back and to leave the shop now and have her vile attitude, literally never known anything like it. Very unprofessional, it’s definitely run by uneducated little girls.

I am so upset with the way Jigsaw have treated my daughter, partner and myself with trying to rent a property. As I know there has to be checks for all tenants (I own a property that I have a tenant in myself) but the hoops you have to jump through with this company is ridiculous. With my daughter being under 25 I paid to be her guarantor to have all relevant checks for me along with the checks on them both as tenants which was fine. I even had to prove I didn’t have a mortgage on my home and show them the deeds to my house! We also offered to pay 6-12 months rent up front with her being this age and her wage not covering the threshold and her partner being self employed. Even with these offered and excellent references from previous landlords and his accountant they have been refused. They say it was down to the landlord, his choice (which we met) and he said no. As a landlord myself with the offer of 12 months rent upfront and excellent references from previous landlords and accountant and knowing where their family home is and with a gaurantor who rents houses out and is mortgage free with a full time job I would be highly delighted. It makes me wonder how these people without jobs rent houses!! We have been made to feel like criminals. We wouldn’t hand over £300 if we thought we would be rejected.

Recently tried to view a property to purchase. Tried contacting them several times over two weeks and couldn't get a viewing. It always seemed to be me the customer chasing them for a viewing when they should have kept us in the loop and kept us up to date with any progress. Then tried to view a rental property - and the exact same thing is happening. Chased twice to no avail and still no viewing. Finally given up and rented an alternative property. I understand tenants maybe difficult in allowing us to view but the agency should be giving the customer updates on what is happening and should be much more on the ball, it shouldn’t be up to the customer to chase. After speaking to an alternative agency, they were much more professional and arranged a viewing the next day.

My first time renting a home and the staff at Jigsaw were more than helpful especially since I'm only 19 and it was quite a nerve racking experience. All the staff I spoke to were lovely, especially Alix Simpkin she was always so welcoming and extremely helpful even via email. We were thoroughly impressed with every aspect of Jigsaw from the first visit to list our property right through to the conclusion of our sale and also our subsequent purchase of a property also through jigsaw .
Every member of staff we dealt with were extremely helpful from start to finish and kept us up to date with all necessary details .

I used jigsaw to rent a property as it has a good rating, however from personal experience I did not find this; on arriving on moving day to the property I signed the documents for the property, however I did not receive all the keys for the property and I am currently unable to check my meters. I was also provided with the WRONG ADDRESS on moving in and have just had to change my home insurance and broad band information. This has affected my premium which has increased so I had a further charge to pay, on arriving at my new property. The letting agent was also not aware that the property was on a water meter and were the readings were located which I am now currently waiting for an engineer to show me were the meter is.
The Agent in the shop was helpful with explaining the smart meter changes and reporting my concern about the keys and has directed me to contact Bovis directly for further support.

The customer service from this letting agent is terrible. Poor communication, repeatedly having to chase up phone calls and emails as they have not been replied to. The property I rented was not as safe as I had expected as I discovered once I moved into the property with random extension cables for sockets and loose socket plates on the walls (multiple). The electrical safety of the property was poor. Amazingly despite the agreed condition of the property £50 was deducted from my bond simply because a couple of hooks had been put up for pictures despite the property already having lots of them. When this was queried I was told it was the walls needed to be filled sanded and painted....errrrm no, doubt it. I would seriously suggest that others use the various other agents in Selby as they have deserved 5* reviews. I can honestly say you should avoid this money grabbing shocking agent at all cost. Terrible!!!

The Complete Package.
They found the Tenants; collect the rent; they see that the safety certificates are done when they are needed; they visit the property to check on the condition; they keep me in the picture with what's happening.
I have other properties in areas that Jigsaw do not cover and therefore feel qualified to tell you that Jigsaw are simply the 'Best'.

On my return this year I purchased another property but just didn't have the time to market it so I turned to "Jigsaw" (Reluctantly as a last resort as I have had bad experiences with othger agents)
To my surprise I found Jigsaw truly professional and very proactive, everything I requested from initial visit, EPC certification, marketing pictures to potential tenants visits was a seamless operation.

I just popped into the Selby Branch on the Tuesday after Christmas (29th), to complement them on being the ONLY agent open and to criticise the rest for being "lazy s-ds!" Then just by chance, a week later needed guidance and a valuation of some land that I wish to sell. So called in again and got a calm, cheerful, professional reception from all the Staff. Within a couple of days my situation was all sorted!
Their service is up there with John Lewis and Amazon; I will certainly use them again after "fettling" the house and then look to down-sizing.

Jigsaw Lettings have provided an extremely professional service since giving them a few apartments to let for us a year ago. To date, their levels of communication are excellent where we receive an immediate response or acknowledgement to any queries we have. Unlike many letting agents, they provide an out of hours service for tenants which is very reassuring and are on the ball at the hint of a property becoming unlet.

I've had a good experience so far with Jigsaw Letting.
They were patient and helpful when I had bank issues just as I was about to move in. This meant rescheduling my appointment with them and paying the bond and first months rent a week late - so I appreciated that.
I usually contact them via email on non urgent matters, and they always reply in good time.
So to summarise, they are helpful, patient and professional (and pretty) - I recommend them ; )

From looking at buying a "but-to-let property to renting out Jigsaw were there to help with advice on what to buy, what rental to expect and what we did and did not need to do.
We now have two properties, both bought on Jigsaws advice, and both were let out with tenants in place within four weeks of completing on them.
In both cases the rental achieved was exactly what was forecast by Jigsaw. The process is fully managed by Jigsaw and things could not have been easier or smoother.
I can recommend them to anyone wanting to let out properties or who are thinking of letting out properties.

I had a upsetting time with another Letting Agent in Selby working in Abu Dhabi i put my trust in them but they let me down big time , so when looking for another agent in Selby while I was still overseas I was very cautious not wanting to be put through more stress caused by a Letting agency .
Jigsaw went out of their way to be helpful and make the transition of moving agents easy and stress free , everything could be done on line and they listened to me and carried out all my wishes even finding me tenants quickly . Which is what a landlord wants as they don't want their property empty too long .
Because this agency went out of their way to be very helpful too me at a very stressful time after suffering with the last tenant the the letting agency and their terrible contractor , I would have no hesitation reccomending Jigsaw letting it has been totally hassle free and stressless .

I have let out a property with Jigsaw for approximately 5 years, they found me an excellent tenant immediately and have looked after my interests very professionally ever since.
My property is very old and there have been some very challenging problems that Eleanor Welbourn has managed to resolve very quickly and expertly.
Its a pity that none of my other let properties are in the area because I would not hesitate in moving them all to Jigsaw Letting as I find them to be a first class management company who offer excellent value for money and take all the hassle out of dealing direct with a tenant. Thank you

When looking for a friendly, helpful and experienced estate agent to assist with letting my parents property out in York so that they can move down South to be with us and the children, we found all that we needed and far more from Jigsaw! As my parents are both retired moving for the first time for 45 years it was always going to be a huge task and us being 6 hours away from them, we needed an estate agent we could trust that was friendly and would explain all the 'scary' legal blurb etc to them to make the whole process as simple as possible so that they would know there property was safe in someones hands.
