We recently purchased our first home through Karen Potter and were delighted with how helpful and attentive the whole team was. We had three viewings with them on a couple of properties then found 'The one'. Katie was super friendly and efficient and kept us updated at every stage and seemed really excited for us. From the moment Matt walked through to value my house I knew they would be the team to sell my house. The best estate agents in Southport and I got a few values to compare but only felt confident in them. They got the price of the house spot on, marketed it well and everything was just taken care of. They made the experience stress free and were so professional.
Nothing was too much trouble, their communication was excellent and all the office staff were so friendly and always got back to me. Cannot find a single fault or even recommend any improvements. The people that did the viewings were great and again informative, friendly and professional. Cannot recommend enough I’d give them an 11/10 if it were possible.

Due to a succession of problems, I ended up getting most of the way through buying several flats in Southport before one successfully completed, which meant I worked with several different estate agents. From my perspective, Karen Potter was consistently the most helpful and supportive throughout the entire purchase process: they were much more proactive about helping the purchase complete than any other local estate agent.
Perhaps if you're lucky and have a transaction that works perfectly smoothly, it won't make much difference, but my experience tells me problems often show up during the conveyancing process. Karen Potter were absolutely key to resolving the problems I had with the flat I did purchase.
If I were ever buying in Southport again, I would genuinely pay a premium for a property that was listed with Karen Potter rather than any other estate agent. If and when I come to sell, I am definitely going to be talking to Karen Potter first.

We had a very difficult sale on our old house and we’re worried we would loose our new bungalow!
The whole team at Karen Potter provided us with many updates, support and guidance to make sure we didn’t loose our purchase!
We would like to make a special comment about one wonderful lady in particular Jacqui. Jacqui deserves a medal with everything she went through with us over the last 10 months.
Nothing was too much of an ask, she is polite, supportive, professional and courteous. By the end of this process I was actually sad I don’t talk to her every week with updates.

We had a few problems selling our last property, so Karen came out personally and provided us with a list of improvements that would help to sell it. It took me and my wife 4 weeks to do the work which wasn’t that difficult. The property was then sold for £13,000 more than the original asking price.

I have bought a house through KP & almost bought a second which ultimately fell through for other reasons. Both experiences with them were poor. I was patronised by their staff who tried to bully me into paying the full asking price on a property that needed at least 25k of work doing to it. They clearly don’t understand that property sales involve negotiation, not just unquestioningly paying the asking price. They tried to bully me to the point I had to refuse to have anything to do with them & insist they only speak to me partner. This review has been submitted under a pseudonym due to the nasty responses they send to anyone leaving less than 5 stars for them. I would seriously think twice about buying another property through them & wouldn’t dream of using them when I come to sell.

I needed to put my mums house on the market in Southport but I was living 50 miles away .
My first contact with was with Karen Potter at the property. What a lovely person with so much experience under her belt. She walked through the property talking through each room giving advice on every aspect. Within a day or so I received an email advising of the valuation and a draft copy of the brochure for sale. Photography and wording was excellent highlighting all the positives. Once signed off they proceeded to advertise my mums property. Within 24 hours they had already secured 5 viewings. Once an offer was put in for the property I have nothing but positive things to say about the team . Sue and Jackie kept me informed every week and often more than once a week where we were up to in the proceedings . The updates were so important to me.

After hearing of the way a friend of mine was spoken to by the owner of this business, I thought I should share my own experience with Karen Potter Estate Agent.
My partner and I viewed a property on Linaker Street, Southport with this company.
The representative arrived on time and allowed us access to the property for a viewing, that was as helpful as they were.
The representative knew nothing on the age of the boiler, roofing, electrics - information that should be readily available.
Barely knew the layout of the property.
We felt quite rushed with this viewing as if the representative needed to be elsewhere.
We ended up buying a property through a different estate agents.
This is my personal experience with this company.

We had already had good reports regarding Karen Potter estate agents which was the primary reason for first contacting you.
We had several other agents booked in to come and assess the property later in the week however we cancelled those after our initial meeting with Karen Potter herself. We were so impressed by her professionalism and her very pleasant personality along with the fact that she listened to what we had to say and gave excellent practical advice, we decided there and then that we wanted her to market our property.
It has proved to be the correct decision because from the start we have been kept up-to-date with progress regarding viewings, any problems & the relevant paperwork etc has all been completed swiftly & accurately.

I recently viewed several properties via the Karen Potter Estate Agent in Southport. This agent was attentive to my requirements and passed on details to me by both E-mail and phone call in a timely and courteous manner. This was especially helpful as I mentioned to the Karen Potter office staff that I needed to view as many appropriate properties as possible within a 3 day period whilst on holiday (ie as I currently live in the South of England but wish to relocate to the North West). Every member of the team were all very professional and very polite when dealing with enquiries. Right from the Lady who first showed us round to all the ladies in the office. Nothing was too much trouble and they helped me facilitate with the vendor and their solicitor to make sure I completed before xmas which I was keen to do. We were very disappointed as although we had two buyers both sales fell through. We didn’t feel that the follow-up was efficient. Two weeks before the second sale fell through we asked for our house to be remarketed but we were talked out of it. We still don’t fully understand why the second sale fell through as the agents did not provide us with any feedback.

Estate agent of the year, as far as we are concerned! Nothing was too much for the team at Karen Potter Estate Agents. I must have spoken to every single member of staff at some point in the tortuous process of selling our house, and each one took a genuine interest in our sale. Karen Potter herself always took the time to phone personally if there was anything difficult or sensitive to discuss. The team were professional at all times, but also very approachable, so that it felt like chatting to friends whenever I spoke to anyone in the office. Karen has an in depth knowledge of the housing market, and used this to guide us to the right asking price and to give us helpful advice when we needed it. When we lost our first buyer, Karen managed to find us another one within half an hour! I cannot thank them enough. They were absolutely brilliant, and I would advise anyone selling a home in the Southport area to use Karen Potter Estate Agents.

Had to sell my fathers house in Southport and used Karen Potter as the agents. Can't thank them enough for the service they provided. From day one they kept me updated on viewings and all feedback. A buyer was found and a very complicated sale was finalised. Felt a bit sorry for the staff due to the complications and hold ups with solicitors and other things but they played a big part in keeping the buyer up to date (which is more than i can say about my solicitor) So thank you Karen Potter and all staff. I approached Karen Potter following a frustrating experience trying to sell my property with a different estate agent. Immediately, the difference in approach was stark. Karen dealt with my calls personally and met me at the property to discuss strategy. She is an engaging, highly professional person whose substantial experience, expertise and passion for what she does shines through brightly. She offered valuable advice and provided a clear and honest rationale for what she was saying.
She remained involved in the listing and when she felt a change of strategy was required, she called me before I called her - this was so refreshing! Ultimately, the property was under offer in a fraction of the time I had spent with it listed with other agents - as she predicted it would be, and I was happy that we achieved a fair price. Her dedicated and professional team were on hand to steer us through the remainder of the process and provided regular updates. They were always on hand to offer any advice I needed.
I cannot recommend Karen Potter highly enough to anyone who wants to sell their property. I certainly wouldn't consider going anywhere else in future. Thank you.

Fabulous service , you get what you pay for !
Put the house on the market on Thursday , had 5 viewing booked on saturday , two on sunday , 2 on Monday and 2 full price asking offers by Monday. Team where efficient and always very polite . Having used Karen and her team before we knew what to expect! They keep calm when all around you is chaos ! Buying , selling and moving is not a pleasurable experience as the system is so antiquated, however Karen and the Team make it as painless as possible . Thank you all . We recently purchased from KP , it is a long story , we came purchased a property in early June through another agent , we emailed and thanked all the agents who had helped us ,out of all the agents only one acknowledged Karen Potter ,wishing us well and if we ever needed their services they were there to assist. We have recently sold our house through Karen Potters Estate Agents.
We were recommended them from my sister who had recently sold in Dover Road and also family who had sold down Dunbar Road.
We live in Perth Western Australia, so we knew we had to feel comfortable and confident with our choice, due to time delays and not being there could be a problem. Karen Potter took all the worries away and worked on the sale with dignity and reassurance throughout.
We were constantly updated with any progress or any hold ups with efficiency, and even with the time delay, they were always there to talk if we needed to chat to someone. Their advice was excellent advising on accepting offers etc. totally thinking about us and what was best for us.
Karen Potter also recommended a Solicitor who worked proficient and prompt to complete the sale.
Each and every staff member we dealt with were supportive and understanding.
The pictures were very impressive and excellent quality.

Best decision we’ve ever made to use Karen Potter Estate Agent...... We had wanted to move for a long time but had been really reluctant to go through what we thought would be a time-consuming and stressful process. A work colleague recommended this agent and urged us to give them a try as they had had a positive experience with them in the past. I’m so glad we listened and decided to go for it.
Karen and the ladies were fantastic, they could tell I was very anxious so went above and beyond to try to make the whole process run smoothly.
I thought it would take an age to find someone interested in the property as it was on an awkward bend down a busy main road but they managed to find us a buyer within 2 and a half weeks of the house going on the market. They also chased solicitors for us, gave some brilliant advice and kept us informed of the sale every step of the way.

Currently having a terrible experience trying to buy a house through Karen Potter! I know she makes her money from sellers but if she carries on putting buyers off she won't be selling houses! I'm sick to death of being spoken to like dirt by Sharon Brown. She looks down her nose at me every time I go in & speaks to me like a child.

I recently sold a flat in Southport with the assistance of Karen Potter Estate Agents. It was the first time I had ever sold a property, so I was very reliant on advice and guidance from the agency. This was provided with friendly efficiency, whenever I needed it. As the agency operates on a 7 day per week basis, there was always someone around to assist. I was contacted on at least a weekly basis, with information about progress, which was enormously helpful and reassuring. The excellent staff managed to provide sound advice whilst recognising that decisions were rightly mine to make - not always an easy balance to maintain. All the staff inspired confidence and left me feeling that the sale was in very safe hands. Communication was excellent and the whole experience was a positive one. So unprofessional!!! I was told I could not view properties at weekends as my house was not on the market yet. As soon as I put my house on the market, I went into the agency to arrange a viewing for a weekend as I work all week out of Southport so cannot do midweek but they then told me I had to have a buyer ready to be able to view properties at weekends. Well, it safe to say I will not set my foot in that agency again and those poor vendors have definitely lost a potential buyer, who knows maybe more, judging by the attitude and professionalism of those agents!!!
