Not sure how these guys managed a 4.7 rating. I expressed interest in a flat in Thames Ditton, I was then emailed by someone called Imanuel about it, we agreed on a date and time for the viewing, It took me a long time to get there as I live far, it was raining and I was with my 5yo son. No one turned up. After half an hour waiting by, I called them, to hear that someone named Mike would be on his way to meet me. Another 30 min has passed, nothing. I call again, no answer. By this time it is already 7pm. We left. Not a single email of apologies was sent. I had never witnessed such a poor service in London. I have no idea how these guys are still up and running if that’s what they are used to do with clients.

When we moved into our property we’ve had nothing but issues from being told the wrong electrical provider, to the taps being around the wrong way and just so many snags which shouldn’t be happening in a so called NEW BUILD property. They’re have been many months of stress trying to get bills put into our name and problems with the building it’s self there is no rush or even a sense of urgency to get any of our problems fixed nor any compensation or even accountability. we’ve had the worst renting experience with Leo new man and we would definitely not recommend I would like to know how a kitchens circuit board gets signed off if it’s wired wrong theres just not something quite right with them seems a bit dodgy and yet we was also allowed to move into our property with out all safety checks being done we was told within 2 weeks of us moving in that safety checks were still needed to be done on the balcony
Just a fyi I would not recommend nor will I ever use Leo Newman again in the future
… when we came to vide the property we was put into contact with david and was show around by him and the buikder the property was not cleaned brickdust everywhere dirt and footprints no power to our AC unit
We raised a issue about tape being on the inside between two doors and got told by the builder that we are only renting and it doesnt matter then
We've had two men living in caravans outside of our property for months
We exit through the back entrance to the building too see all his wet laundry on a washing line not to mention he was washing his clothes in the flats which were being built and also having showers in the unfinished properties
and when we challenges leo newman there was no proper answers given
our bins are constantly overfilled and never kept ontop of

Moving into a new place has become a nightmare lately, however i did find one recently and one of the agents(Klaudia ) was extremely helpful and patient throughout the process.
She made everything happen so smoothly and effortlessly making sure everything would be in place for our moving.

Completely unorganized and unprofessional, do not recommend at all. I inquired a property and was put into contact with a representative called Mikey. Prior to the viewing I notified him of my salary and circumstances so he knew full well what my earnings were. I viewed the property shortly thereafter no problem, and I wanted to make an offer as I was interested in the place. Mikey again asked what my salary was which I thought was a little weird since he already knew before I came to view the place. He then told me that not only did I not meet the salary requirement to pass referencing, but the amount per month was now £1120 instead of £1100 which is what was advertised due to "high interest", increasing the price by £240.00. He then asked me to pay £6600 up-front for 6 months and then another £6600 after the initial 6 month period ended. Who in their right mind would do that and could afford that? It's completely unfair, unjust and illegal to ask someone to pay more than what was advertised for no specific or justified reason - this is actually considered as extortion. Not only am I going to report Leo Newman to RightMove for this immoral and sleazy request, I am also going to be reporting this to the ARLA. This is the equivalent of going to a restaurant and seeing an item on the menu for £50, but the staff try to charge you £75 because "It's popular". You just can't do this and it's really not good enough.

My partner and I recently viewed a flat through Leo Newman. Take with a pinch of salt any advertised asking price as this agent actively encourages bidding wars between prospective tenants, which is a shame as the flat was very nice but being asked to increase our offer multiple times over the original price "to match other offers" doesn't sit right with us.

We've rented a nice flat a couple years ago, and response when it came to property maintenance was relatively quick, as well as customer service. The only issue has been the fact that we were required to hire a professional cleaning before leaving, despite it not being stated in our tenancy agreement or offer, nor have we ever received proof of a professional cleaning service having been used prior to us renting the flat. Also, the day of the viewing we were stood up by only 3 hours by the particular agent, who wasn't even apologetic for it on the phone.
Reply to owner: You must have me mixed up with someone else, as I certainly didn't work at a local coffee shop and instead travelled an hour and a half to be there, something your colleagues were fully aware of. Not surprising to see I am not the first person you had done this exact thing to. And again, when you require a professional clean, then you legally must disclose this before the tenancy agreement, as this is an expense I signed off to. Obviously you get your way still, because even though not legally binding, you would simply not provide the landlord reference that I needed to move on. The tone of your response is a good indication of how my review ended up having the rating that it has got.

Super helpful agent, process was quick and easy
EDIT: changing my review as 4 months into our tenancy, many issues raised during this time haven’t been solved or even looked at, including mould I’m breathing in daily. Have had to chase property manager and maintenance team so many times and I get told someone will come look into the problems but nothing happens. Feels like the property is falling apart and they don’t care.
The quick process I mention above was in regards to me signing the tenancy agreement and handing over a huge chunk of money, not Leo Newman helping fix these issues.

We must admit that we did not enjoy our experience as the landlord was not the best. The only reason we did not pull out was Nicky.
What we really liked about Nicky was his communication, his availability, and his calmness. Trying to move house in mid-December was a stressful experience to start with. But when most estates agents will ignore your calls Nicky was the exact opposite. He was always available - during his weekend, during his holidays he will never ignore you and will always respond to your query. He used his 20+ years of industry experience to a great effect as he is very knowledgeable, courteous, patient at explaining the whole process, and eventually taking the stress out of the situation. I found him to be a man of his word which is a rarity these days.
It is easy to be a good agent when things go well. Yet, the best agents are those that perform well in adverse situations. I think his landlord client should really thank him because he managed to keep and close this deal against all odds. We thank him because we trusted him and we are now living happily in our new home and that would not have happened if it was not for Nicky.

This is probably the best letting agency I've ever seen in London.
As difficult as it is to deal with agencies in general in this city (let alone the lack of professional attitude) sometimes you're lucky to find agencies like this. Very fair from the beginning, people driven, and also extremely helpful. Me and my girlfriend went to see a place but unfortunately we couldn't get it for personal reasons and our agent Bojan still remained professional and helped us all the way through. If I had the opportunity to rent with them in the future I will do and if you're seeing to renting a place with this name on don't think twice.

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed in the service provided by Leo Newman, and I would not at all recommend them. From the very beginning of the lease (flat in W1), we've been having issues. Other than the fact that they initially didn't even manage to give us a full set of keys, we had to move in one week later than agreed in the contract, since they failed to provide us with the necessary furniture. This was evidently a hassle in itself. What made it worse, however, was that they did not pay us back the money lost for that one week. The furniture did not meet our standards, either; the bed, for instance, was simply made out of two boxes, which was quite frankly ridiculous for the price we were paying. Nevertheless, the absolute peak of their unprofessionalism was when we had issues with the gas stove and they sent us someone to fix it who did not have a Gas ID, i.e. who was not trained or fit for the task. We ended up having a gas leak (!!!), resulting in an emergency technician coming to our flat at 3AM to turn everything off. This was absolutely petrifying, since they actively harmed our safety. Moreover, they subsequently took a long time getting us someone to fix the issue, meaning we had no heating for several days, and that at the end of October. The list of issues goes on, but it boils down to the fact that Leo Newman really broke every record regarding low standards and unprofessionalism, and even put us in a dangerous situation. Hence I very much do not recommend this agency.

Not often you find a nice, trustworthy letting agent, but have really liked the way Leo Newman do business. Just secured a great flat with them and it was seamless. I know we'll feel secure in the new place, unlike with Touchstone - our previous letting agents.
Update - having lived in 2 flats with Leo Newman, I can say it has been an absolute pleasure dealing with them. We've had very few issues, all of which were normal, but any time we have, they have responded immediately in a friendly and courteous manner and ensured it was resolved quickly.

Accepted a holding deposit from another viewer who was able to see it. Spoke with rude members of staff who were all useless. I was waiting outside of the property for half an hour and the seats agwnr didn’t turn up. Was ready to put down offer and deposit yesterday, if Jonathan had showed up. Apparently a junior member of staff who booked it one month from date rather than actual date. Offered pathetic apology and nothing of similar style. Manager unreachable as never in the office. Highly disappointed by this service. You would think that as it is their fault the viewing didn’t go through they would allow me to view the property and have equal opportunity. Never ever deal with Jonathan!!!

Bad experience. The agency continued processing other offers after receiving a holding deposit from me.
I made an offer for renting a property, the landlord approved it, I paid the holding deposit to remove the property from the market and to stop considering other offers. In 40 minutes after receiving the payment confirmation the agency came back to me saying that they got another offer on this property and this offer would be presented to the landlord. In 7 hours after that they came back to me saying that the second offer was much better then mine and that the landlord decided to accept the better one (460 pw no pets VS 435 pw with a cat allowed). They refunded the holding deposit the next day but my expectation was that after I pay this deposit the agency will stop considering other offers. In fact they didn’t, at least in the first 40 minutes after receiving the holding deposit payment confirmation.
So if you are dealing with this agency and are going to pay a holding deposit my recommendation would be to get a written confirmation that they won’t show this property to anybody and that they won’t process any offers that they get after receiving your payment. I’m not sure that would help but that’s definitely better than nothing.

It started out so good, but quickly sped downhill...
TL;DR: They're nice on the way in, but shifty on the way out.
THE GOOD: If you're only using them as a lettings agent, Leo Newman are all right (if expensive). They worked with us on the deposit (being new to the UK, it's hard to move money around). They provided a decent flat at an affordable rent (once I counter offered, that is).
THE BAD: Leo Newman were also our property management company, so we had consistent run-arounds to get simple repairs performed. They did (eventually) fix things, such as the leak in the kitchen ceiling, but only after an exhaustive back and forth where they ask you to photograph what's wrong.
THE UGLY: This is where it gets nasty. When our tenancy agreement came due after a year, they wanted to jack up the rent by 20%. Since the flat wasn't worth what they were asking, we countered with a more reasonable 2%. We were exemplary tenants; never late with rent, quiet, clean, and generally good neighbours. It took them weeks to accept our offer, but in the meantime we found a better flat in a nicer neighbourhood for just a bit more money.
On moving in, we paid an additional deposit due to our small cat, bringing the total to £1500. Moving out, we followed all of their conditions to the letter, even to getting a professional deep cleaning. The only hitch was accessing our electrical account, which was paid on standing debit. I couldn't get into the account to show the £0 balance, but did give them the debit as proof of payment. That wasn't good enough, so they've withheld my £1500 deposit FOR WEEKS (this is in direct violation of the DPS, which states that funds can't be arbitrarily withheld and only the amount in dispute can be claimed, NOT the whole amount, and that the landlord has to show cause).

The most vile company I have ever dealt with. Mark Emanuel is an incompetent property manager. A young boy Joshua (probably on work experience) is even worse, speaks to customers on the phone as if he is above them, the most vile person I have ever come across in a professional environment. They have no urgency to get issues rectified. The service I have received is appalling!! would happily steer anyone away from using them. The worst Agents Ever.

Very professional and helpful staff, Nicky and Joshua K., who helped us settle in after a big move from the Far East. The flat is still not perfect, however, Joshua has been very attentive and helpful in responding to our needs. We are still waiting for a few bits, but the property is what we were looking for, after months of search. A highly recommended agent!

Positive experience with very good communication with the agent throughout the process and some flexibility offered in terms of contract sign date and furnishing of the flat. Flat was neat and tidy although dirty windows and some repairs were still carried out after the beginning of tenancy. Little support was offered with the move in process but overall we were happy with the service.

Me and my friends have just rented this new flat with Leo Newman. Even though there were holidays in between the first contact with them at the viewing and the actual starting date of the tenancy, they have been really helpful and also friendly with us, answering all of our question, sending really detailed emails on how to proceed step by step and with detailed instructions and information about our flat and everything else. I really hope everything is gonna go well during our tenancy, but I don't have much doubts about it looking at how it started, so I'd advice you Leo Newman for their services!

I couldn't have asked for better landlord!
Since the begging Nicky and his team where helpful and supportive from any doubts as from being my first time going solo as a tenant to the end returning my lovely flat to move on to new pastures! Kelly was as also super on it, any time any issues have arise to having them fixed or sorted on the same day making everything easy, smooth and stress free! I really couldn't have asked for better landlords.

Apart from the fact that the flat itself was very good, what I mostly liked about the agency is that these guys were absolutely reasonable and flexible, which I believe is the most important thing when dealing with someone.
