Fantastic experience from start to finish. I rented the perfect home from Sumnall Properties for 2 years and would recommend the company to anyone. Dealing with Lorna and the team has been pain free throughout. They are all extremely responsive when needed, which wasn't often, very friendly and hold high standards in all aspects of their roles. The property was clean, tidy and well kept at the point of moving in, which meant I did not have to do anything other than unbox. When it came to moving out, due to purchasing a house, Lorna was extremely accommodating and ensured it was a smooth and flexible process. If I need to rent again at any point I will use Sumnall Properties.

How many business's today can called faultless, perfect and take all the tensions out of buying or selling in any industry? I found that Sumnalls' were just that, and I shall always remember some solid advice from a very dear friend from many years ago......."Find yourself a good garage, a good dentist, a good builder, a good solicitor and life will be easier for you.........oh yes I almost forgot the most important one........a good property agent, they make all the difference." I'm pleased to be able to say Sumnall have filled the last roll perfectly. Such a pleasure to deal with and all the problems and stress dealt with by them as part of their perfect package. It is sad that during these difficult times that this company “cannot” consider tenants with a less than “squeaky clean” credit rating. I can see that this has been an issue for others when approaching this company. Maybe this company should reconsider who offers the rent guarantee service and maybe rental properties would not have to be reduced?
I was however treated with respect and Lorna was polite.

Her freindly and down-to-earth approach was a big reason I decided to apply for the property. Since moving in Lorna and her team have been attentive and helpful whilst allowing me to enjoy my new property.

Rude and abrasive when enquiring about renting a property, but worse - lied about what they can see on a credit report when I was open about a default, Citizen’s Advice have now told me that the credit check for landlords only shows CCJs and bankruptcy, absolute disgrace and made to feel like a second class citizen. I feel sorry for the owner of the property who has now lost out on what would have been a good tenant.

I see Lorna Sumnall has replied below and is doubling down on her lie - CITIZENS ADVICE have said it is only CCJs & bankruptcy that have to be declared on a tenancy application, a poor credit score is nothing to do with the letting agent or the landlord. I hope landlords look elsewhere for a letting agent if they prefer honesty, which I was being. Furthermore, you weren't kind in the slightest, your tone was appalling.

Was looking for a property for just me and my baby says you have to be 18 years old then when I told her I was she said the landlord are looking for someone “mature” why isn’t they on the description?! How can you not give someone a property based on there age when you don’t know them at all!! AGE doesn’t mean anything you could have a immature 30 year old and a mature 18 year old doesn’t make sense.

She is very racist and because she owns the company she speaks as she pleases.
I spoke on the phone with Lorna. I told her i want a house( rent) and in the morning next day i will send the email (proof of working).
When I called her to ask if she had received the mail, and if I could now see the house and rent it, she told me she had already rented it.
I asked when did this happen? from last night until this morning? In the night ?
He yelled at me and told me why I was asking for an explanation and hung up the phone immediately.
How is it possible to behave like that?
My opinion is that she is just racist and discriminated against me because I am not English.

The company is not even close to being professional. If you dont speak english perfectly, they dont want to contact with you.They hanged up the phone since i am not very good at english. Although i told them that i could use online translate , they didnt respond to me. And also they didnt allow my brother to translate the conversation and help me. They were very rude which was discouraging. I offered them many options to communicate with them but they refused it. Well i guess everyone thinks the same thing as i do about how to call this behaviour???

She was very proactive and made buying our property as easy as it could be, which we needed after our previous sale fell through! I have rented two properties from Lorna (1 current) and both times has been a pleasure. Fees reasonable compared to other agents. Also nothing seems too much trouble even helping to facilitate a move in bringing the date forward by two weeks with just 72 hours notice due to a change in personal circumstances.
She has fully supported me as a tenant when issues arose too.
Having dealt with a number of agents over the years I can fully recommend and they are absolutely my preferred agents of choice!

I have called the office to book a viewing and then the owner (Lorna) has called me back. Very rude person and put the phone down on me twice, no letting me speaking. I have said I wanted to rent the property with my sister (3 bedroom property) and she has said this is not a sharing accommodation. This does not make any sense. We would be renting the entirely property.
I have told her we are family, therefore not classified as sharing. She kept saying she cannot help me and that is what the Law says. Show me that Law, please, because I have not heard about it.
Shared properties is when you rent rooms, which is not this case. I can only assume, she will only be renting that 3 bed for a single person?
I felt as I am not English, she did not want to give me the time and listen to me.
Then, I have called again and tried once more to explain the same thing: we are family.
Again, she hang up on me. My colleague from work has called her and then she has changed and said the property was not available anymore, as there are loads of applicants and if anything changes she will call me back. Very rude to my colleague as well. If that was the case and property is not available anymore, , why has she called me to book a viewing and even asked me when I want to move in, as the property is already empty? Extremely unpleasant service from this lady.

I swapped to Sumnall Properties having previously been with another agent for many years and am so glad I did.
Lorna made several suggestions as to how I could make the property more inviting for a new tenant and it went very quickly after that.
There were also may issues the previous agent hadn't spotted and legal issues they hadn't brought to my attention.
Lorna and Lucy both worked tirelessly to sort these issues out and, at last, I feel everything is now in order.
In addition Lorna keeps landlords up to date with new legislation and advice on equity release and other matters concerning the home.
I feel that I am now in the hands of true professionals who support, advise and work extremely hard to be at the tope of their game.
I would highly recommend them.

I have been using Lorna Sumnall Lettings since June 2009 when I purchased my first property for rental. I now have 4. From a Landlord's point of view I have always found Lorna to be very professional. She has an amazing ability to find good tenants, none of my properties have ever been empty for long and in most cases it's a case of 1 tenant moving out and another moving in straight away. Lorna gives good, sound advice and is always contactable. She is also very flexible in her approach to the needs and wishes of the Landlord. This is Lorna's own business and she puts her heart and soul into it. Non of my tenants have ever said anything negative about Lorna to me. If you have a property to rent I would not hesitate to recommend Lorna Sumnall Properties.

If you have a cat or a dog don't use this agent!
Looked at a property on website did not specify no pets as soon as we informed her we had a cat she said "Good luck with your search" and promptly put phone down on me. If all people could get Mortgages nobody would rent. We are not all fortunate to have thousands of pounds for deposits so we rent. People who rent still make the house a home and respect the property. Animal lovers are prejudiced against when it comes to renting a home.
