We tried to rent a place in Gotham through Lovage homes in May, they messed us around for ages (admittedly I believe this was more the landlady rather than Lovage themselves) but when the landlady pulled out of the transaction we were left having to beg for our holding deposit back. The landlady pulled out in July, we were told we would be recieving our deposit back in August but it's been radio silence ever since, it's now October and despite constant communication from our end we have neither the holding deposit back nor any reason why. We're not sure if they're just incredibly slow or purposefully ignorant, either way we're left out of pocket.
Edit: 20 mins after posting this we have our money back, go figure!

We originally bought a house in Kegworth when our daughter was a student at the Sutton Bonnington campus, over a decade ago. For the past four years we have used Lovage homes as our letting agents for the property. We have been extremely satisfied with the level of service provided by Val, Caroline and the team at Lovage homes. They take care of everything on our behalf including sourcing tradesmen, organising purchase of any additional items for the house and generally keeping the tenants happy and satisfied.
By now we fully trust them to do whatever is required including ensuring that the property is fully occupied and they have the balance just right regarding what we need to approve and what they can just sort on our behalf. This was been our first experience of letting through an agent and we have found it to be everything we required with Lovage homes providing a very professional and comprehensive yet friendly family business service.

Very poor service from team at Lovage. Rented property as student which got flooded due burst pipe. Got relocated to another property for “one month” but ended up being over 6 months. Their communications with us throughout this was very poor. The property insurance company released compensation for us, which Lovage has refused to give to us. They wanted us to pay for the bills over at the property we were relocated to, even though we had no control over gas and electricity usage! Furthermore, when I left, it became apparent that they never protected my deposit and were just holding the money themselves (and I was not the only one). The service they provided was disgraceful. They certainly take advantage of the student population. I strongly recommend that students choose another letting agent such as Newton Fallowell, and do not have any dealings with Lovage.

Renting a house with lovage. Service is absolutely terrible, we reserved the house at the start of September and it’s now October 28th with no contract-2 days until the deadline. All our texts/calls are brushed off or ignored with the problem not actually being fixed, customer service is very unprofessional and many others I know are having the same problem. Do not recommend.

Our experience with lovage was nothing short of disasterous from start to finish. Students were late everu month paying rent, then left owing for damages and electricity. Even though we were paying lovage to sort things out, they ended up giving the students their deposits back, before the matters were rectified. Thersfore leaving us with no choice but to go through courts procedure.

They really went the extra mile to ensure I was put at ease and fully informed of the processes involved in selling my house. In particular Caroline was so genuine, friendly and professional, she guided me through step by step, always replying to any questions with a speedy response, she really supported me through a stressful time, nothing was too much trouble. I'm incredibly grateful of the service I received and cannot recommend them highly enough. It was so refreshing to deal with such warm, genuine people, they go above and beyond the role Estate agents.

Caroline and the team were never to busy to talk or message back to a question and the whole process felt very personal which was great.

What a joke this agency is, our friends rented from Newton Fallowell the other agency in Kegworth who were so much better. We waited over two months for our deposit back for no reason other then they can not be bothered, only interested in new business and making money. The communication from them is very poor or non existent. Stay away from this agency if you want a professional and smooth tenancy.

I was a Tenant under this agency. Communication between us was very poor, with none of our emails being replied to quickly and never being told when we needed to do things. Agent also unfairly claimed deposit back for cleaning that wasn't needed. Would not recommend this company to tenants!

We have just sold our house with Lovage and they have been amazing! We put the house on the market with 2 other agents previously and we didn't get anywhere. So we took it off the market and with Val's expertise, she spent time with us, helping us to make the house look its best (she even leant us curtains and mirrors to jazz the place up) We put the house back on the market and within 10 days had sold! We ended up paying less than we thought on agents fee and got the price we wanted for our house, so cant thank Val enough, would highly recommend!
