Unfortunately, I can only say that my experience, with one of the members of staff (VI), was the worst I have ever experienced and really made what should have been an exciting time for us in fact the absolute worst, even advising the seller to pull out and put his home up for rent! The whole process was extremely upsetting, and so I cannot recommend. I would hate for someone else to have the same experience. Update in response to their reply:- You tried to contact me to apologise for your poor service, I wouldn’t take your calls due to the stress you had already caused. The negotiations were on the advice of our solicitor, and no great amounts considering the problems that were reported on by our surveyor. I thought this is what normally happened?? Again I reiterate that you were totally unprofessional at such a stressful time. The seller and ourselves took to communicating between us, and we got on very well. This saved the sale on both our sides. I really hope if you still work there that more customer service courses have been taken to save the reputation of the company you work for.... Read more

Went to view property to let in Southport . Prior to this no phone contact just emails that lacked any warmth or empathy or even a name to emails very poor customer service. When arrived was met by guy called Danny who is mentioned in other reviews on here! He seemed disinterested and not very customer focused . I noticed the property was also up for sale as well as to let and asked the fair question , as was interested in the property, would the owner be looking to put it back on market again to sell in 6months , 12 months etc which he paused said good question but take it back and email office which was red flag as he seemed to be dodging question even though had spoken to owner to get code to enter building when I arrived mmm! I emailed the office the question to which they replied we put call into landlord and as soon as hear back will get back to you ..It two days later not heard the answer and don’t expect too! But was sent an application form and told to fill it in within 24 hours to which I replied I will fill app form once owner responded to my question as be no point if they going to market it for sale in 6months , 12 months to which a no name email reply came back we have 2 applications in and property may not be available ! Property says Let now so lucky escape for me from these bunch of dodgy un professional clowns which mirrors reviews on here. Thank god they over in Chorley and avoid them at all costs !... Read more

Still waiting on a plumber that they were supposed to be sending out last week.. terrible customer service, inform them of issues with the property and nothing happens, they don't care about tenants, don't reply to calls, emails etc. Waste of space. My belief is it doesn't matter what your selling 50% is the product, 50% the staff. "People buy People. We've rented through Nationwide Lettings for around 12 months and have been thoroughly satisfied with the service we've received, and the condition of the properties we've rented. We have dealt mainly with the lettings manager Danny, but all staff we've spoken to on the phone act in a friendly, professional manner. Any issues we've had have been dealt with promptly, keeping us fully informed with progress, and at the end of our most recent tenancy the property inspection and return of our deposit was very fair! We ended our tenancy to move to a property more suited to our needs (also with Nationwide), and the transfer was quick, seamless, and hassle-free, with them being really flexible with timings for viewings and meeting with keys etc meaning we didn't need to take lots of time off work. We'd recommend Nationwide to anyone looking to rent a property in the area.... Read more

I am amazed to read negative comments about Nationwide as our own experience was superb from start to finish. Looking for an agent to market our property we deliberately used the contact forms on the web sites of local agencies to see how long it would take them to respond (if at all!). Within 30 minutes of completing the Nationwide contact form we received a polite and friendly phone call. Other local agencies took between three days and never to make contact. This exemplified the professional and personal service we received throughout. Vicky was particularly efficient, always responding promptly to messages. When the buyers' solicitors created huge delays, it was Vicky who chased them. On moving day it was largely thanks to Vicky that funds came through at the 11th hour allowing moves to take place. I would not go near this company with a barge pole total unproffesionable from beginning to end.3 weeks after accepting my offer of the asking price and taking it off the market they rang me up and told me I had been gazumped after I had started proceeding with my solicitor. Where do I start with this company? Well firstly I have rented through them for around five years and really don't know why I put up with their antics and complete lack of professionalism. The first property I rented from them was a one bedroom apartment which in all fairness I could not fault, unfortunately the point came were I realised I needed a larger property and found one that nationwide had on the rental market, by the time I had seen the property I had already given notice on the previous, my new property was full of damp and mould but apparently to them was 'just cosmetic' and felt I had no option but to move in as a new tenant had applied for the old property. Upon leaving the property the lettings manager 'Danny' tried charging me an absolutely rediculous amount for forgetting to clean the oven and apparently leaving a handprint on the bathroom wall, now this I found to be completely laughable as I am a very houseproud person and the apartment was left immaculate in my opinion but obviously to 'patronising Danny' this wasn't the case even though the apartment I was moving into was filthy and full of damp as well as the mould which I have also plenty of pictures of and will be taking matters further after being made to feel I had no other option but to move in. When moving in, this is when the problems all started and so began the nightmare three years from hell. Firstly as previously stated in this review every window and corner had large amounts of mould and damp, also all the vertical silver blinds had mould all over them which I eventually had to take down and replace at my own expense as nationwide wouldn't ever contemplate replacing anything like that. I then had to replace all light fittings in the living room as these had burnt the ceiling and felt as though this was definitely a fire risk, I'd even got an electrician in who I knew to replace them and being a family friend he advised that they where in fact wired up incorrectly bit again this was done at my own expense as if I'd of spoke with nationwide they'd of taken months to get somebody to come have a look at the issue and also when you do speak to anyone there they are all patronising as well as repetitive too. I even spoke to 'Jane' on an oocasion telling her 'I felt as though this wasn't my home' which her reply was 'well it's not yours if your renting' now to me that is absolutely disgusting to know that even if you are only renting through Nationwide they will do their best to make it feel like you don't actually have a home and now that they deal with sales they'd rather do that than deal with lettings anymore obviously as they earn more money. Hopefully I will be in the position to buy soon and one things for sure I will never buy or sell a house through them either, my sister is actually selling hers through Nationwide and she doesn't think highly of them either at selling homes. I'd advise anyone to stay away and AVOID this company like the plague if your wanting to rent a property or sell one. Whilst living at Oxford Mews I also had to contend with no hot water for over six months and not just only on the one occasion but twice and Nationwide were no help what so ever and kept fobbing me off rather that getting it sorted, they was obviously busier with dealing with people who are buying a property or selling. Another thing they will do is keep hold of your deposit as long as possible just as you'd expect because they intentionally like to steal people's deposits so no matter how clean you leave your property or should I say 'Not your property' then expect not to receive your deposit back anytime soon after leaving any of their properties. Another thing I should add is the mould damage to my expensive clothes and furniture I have encountered which they should be compensating me for. All in all I am so happy now I am out the mould ridden property on Oxford Mews and now renting currently though a much more professional and experienced estate agents, where genuinely you get great customer service and made to feel like it's your home.... We enquired about a property at Seven Oaks area Chorley as it is only 10 minutes walk from our house and tried to arrange a viewing a couple weeks ago. The agent eventually called back and surprising brought her attitude with her once she knew were were trying to negotiate on the price! Its a shame this had happened as were very keen on buying the property. We will not be contacting Nationawide again and wish them the best of luck in selling his property! Hope the property owners are aware of the situation they are putting themselves into!... Read more

Paid for Internet and only had working Internet for about a quarter of a time that I rented with them. Got belittled and told it was my computer, despite other residents also reporting the problem. The company did the bare minimum to palm us off and leave us with internet unsuitable for a one bed let alone a seven bed house. Left me with a broken blind for two weeks. A very embarrassed landlord fixed it within the day and compensated me when he found out. No notice given when entering communal parts of the property. Some staff members very rude - gaynor especially. Told me I wouldn't be able to stay in the property despite having a student loan and two jobs. Funnily enough got it all sorted instantly once I refused to speak to her. Would never ever rent from this company again.... Read more
