This company has been recommended to me to perform a homebuyer’s report and I have to say that I am very pleased with the customer service received! I have requested a call-back at a very awkward time (around Christmas) where the majority of businesses would not ring back until well after new year’s! I was pleasantly surprised as I did not have to wait long at all. Peter explained everything I had to know, making sure this was the service I wanted and needed. I also received a follow up call from Mathew who was very professional. The survey has been done when it was said it would be done and the report has been delivered when it was said it would be! This is a major feat as nowadays you have to chase people for every single thing. Not in his case! I didn't have to lift my finger! I am sure we can all agree that house purchase does not come cheap in terms of fees, but Peter E Gilkes & Co do go the extra mile to make the customer feel well cared for which in turn made it worth every proverbial penny. Small things like including an addressed and prepaid return envelope for example - quite insignificant in terms of cost but with all the companies we dealt with while getting on the property ladder, Peter E Gilkes & Co was the only one to provide that little extra. Now don't get me wrong, I have more than enough stamps to send back whatever needs to be sent but these little gestures go a long way in terms of the hole experience. As said, many companies in the industry didn’t even have the decency to call back, let alone include a return envelope ???? To surmise I want to say that Peter E Gilkes & Co provides an exceptional standard of service and I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone needing a homebuyer’s report. Sick to death of estate agents that have no clue about the property and expect Rightmove or Zoopla to do all the work for them. Getting a same day appointment is close to impossible with this place and even when you have an appointment they have nothing to tell. Welcome to the millennial buyer, we expect information and have little patience! Now they are staring to introduce this sale by informal tender, where they expect you to run round, arrange a mortgage/cash and spend weeks worrying about whether you've put in your best offer to only be told sorry, your bid was high enough and they won't tell you what the highest bid was either! Even Ebay tell you that! No way should a sales process screw with your emotions for weeks on end putting your life in turmoil. Once again it's the estate agents not doing their job and just putting a price on their listing. Estate agents just like Peter Gilkes are just useless and I wished Rightmove would just put them out of business and sell the houses themselves. Rant over been ticking me off for a couple of years now because these guys are number 1 culprits for all of the above. And no im not taking this down because it's the truth and sometimes the truth hurts.... Read more
