Do not recommend this estate agent, they were fine at the beginning of us trying to sell our property, not always great with communication for updates and things rapidly changed after we decided to cancel our contract with them. I cannot fault the ladies as they were lovely, the main owner however he became very rude and unprofessional. Had a very angry encounter on a phone call two days before our contract finished. It just goes to show how peoples attitudes changes when you want to finish with them.

Corrupt agents. Waited a 9 days to hear back on an offer in the interim they asked for proof of documentation and told me verbally that the offer was accepted (no written confirmation) but that they were still obtaining documentation from another individual who had also bidded. (Messing two potential buyers around). Finally when I heard back from them they told me the buyer had gone with another offer and didn't give the opportunity to bid up. I'm sure the office of fair trading will be interested about their practises. WOULDNT BUY A HOUSE FROM THESE CROOKS.

I couldn't have felt more supported by Newby & Co, in particular Caroline, who was wonderful in guiding me every step of the way, from helping me to meet half way with the seller, to ensuring that I was continually updated throughout the conveyancing process in order for me to achieve my goal of becoming a first time buyer in, at what is possibly, the most difficult time to become a first time buyer. Sold my bungalow recently with Newbys I found them to be excellent, very helpful in all ways, whenever I rang someone was always there to answer my call, whenever I asked for advice on anything they were always happy and helpful, I was also purchasing a property through another agent and at times found the whole thing very stressful but I was reassured by regular phone calls to keep me informed on what was happening,

We had a nightmare situation with our house chain collapsing a week before moving . As soon as we phoned to view our now house, Kevin was welcoming and really put us at ease. Once our offer was accepted, Caroline became the person that we corresponded with and she was amazing. She kept us up to date with everything that was happening. She chased our solicitor when she wasn’t answering our messages. Caroline also offered to meet me with the keys on the evening of completion day as I had a meeting and wasn’t sure what time it would finish. I couldn’t fault the experience we had with them.

Very professional from initial contact, through to completion.
Due to living at a distance from the property we were selling, we were totally dependent on Newby & Co for all viewings. We were kept informed of all activity, and were provided constructive feedback where available. Our buyer viewed the property at least 10 times during the sale process which Newby & Co handled with no complaints. They certainly worked hard for, and definitely earned, their fee. We would highly recommend.

I chose Newby & Co because they are a local presence in the Glenfield area and I always look to support local business even if it may cost more for their local knowledge and experience in handling transactions such as a house sale - something I have little spare time for. Put house on the market just as World Cup 2018 was happening (so lots of Union Flags appear all around - not the best look!). Anyway, finally received an acceptable offer but, despite my flagging up the need for the potential purchasor to be in a position to fund and complete the purchase this turned out to seemingly not be the case. Gifts from family memmbers, a change of lender etc later and the sale never happened so I am out of pocket, three months further down the line and now doing what I did not want to do and handling it myself/using an online agent.
All thoroughly nice people but they don't seem to check the financial position of the buyer thoroughly.
Just disappointed that my wish to use local didn't work out through no fault of my own and no having to do what I didn't want to do.

Messed about for 7 months .
I put an offer on a house, the seller accepted. I had to wait for them to find a property before instructing my solicitor to do the search’s. Three days before my six month mortgage application runs out they ring to say the seller has found a property and to start my search’s, so I had to pay another £400 pound to get another six month application then when that arrived all was good and instructed the solicitors to do the search’s as told by newby n co to do so, few days later newby rings me to say the vendor wants another 12500 for the house, so now the seekers have pulled out because they say the surveyor said that they could get more money for the property. So I’ve had to cancel search’s, which has cost another £250, and start all over again . Watch out for messers.

This is the second time we have used Newby and co.
First time was for house purchase, second for house sale.
Both times we had both a professional and friendly service from all the team.
We were impressed with being kept up to date with all steps of both the buying , and sellling of the properties.
It is nice to be able to deal with all members of staff and them to be knowledgeable of our purchase.
We were also very pleased with the recommendation of Frisby and Small solicitors, Justin Crowson was extremely helpful

I have dealt with Newby & co for the sale of my house.Caroline is a excellent person who is knowledgeable, polite and very professional. They found a buyer for my property quite late in around 3 months but unfortunately they don't check the financial details of the buyer properly , they need to improve on that. In our case, they told us after 3 months of transactions including surveys, searches that we should advertise our house again as the buyer is not looking sorted with his finances!!
It was quite annoying as this is completely their responsibility to authenticate buyer, and check their validity at the earliest.
However, they still ended the sale in 6 months.

If you are looking for a firm that will bully the elderly into choosing a buyer that they are not happy or comfortable with, then Newby & Co is for you. If you are looking for an estate agent that will lie to both buyer and seller, despite knowing that they are in contact with each other, then go ahead.
Absolutely awful experience with Newby that almost ruined the purchase of our first house, and left us feeling constantly on edge as despite having an offer accepted first Newby wanted the sellers to accept another offer at the same price from different people. Constantly gave the sellers unrealistic deadlines to make decisions (I.e. you need to make a decision by 3pm today or we will for you)
Honestly can't stress enough how much I would avoid this firm.
