I have now rented both a Scarborough two bedroomed flat and a separate private car parking space through Nicholson's estate agent for the last three years and can honestly say the service I receive is second to none.
If I ever have a query or a problem it's always been delt with as quickly as possible.
The staff are always pleasant and courteous when I phone and therefore hopefully would stay with Nicholson's for years to come.

On behalf of my brother and I we would like to sincerely thank Dan and the staff at Scarborough for the professional and diligent manner they have gone about selling our Mothers property after her sudden passing.
From initial consultation through surveys and viewings all have been with attention to detail especially given that all of this had to take place during lockdown and recent further COVID-19 restrictions.
They have made what would have been a difficult and extremely emotional task for us far smoother than anyone could have expected.
We have no hesitation in commending this company to any prospective client.

Very poor service from beginning to end. Poor at responding to queries. Rude emails and telephone conversations. After 6 weeks still waiting for action on my bond returning. I would rather live in a bus stop than have these as landlords.

High pressure sale techniques. Appeared to either unwilling or unable to negotiate with seller after a negative property survey. I would be very reluctant to use the estate agent again.

Recently sold my mothers flat in Scarborough through Nicholsons. From the initial valuation visit the staff were always friendly and helpful, they kept me informed right through to completion of sale. A professional service.

We have tried to ask Nicholsons to do something about our noisy neighbours, who they let to, but even though they are always prompt and polite in answering emails nothing has changed.

The staff lost/shredded my original paperwork.. Bank statements etc without my permission, then actually lied to me about it. They also lied about what the referencing agency said about me. I know because I phoned the referencing agency and found out what was said.
I am still waiting for Nicholsons to tell me their complaints procedure.
The Police told me what to do in this situation but it is taking time.
Nicholsons didn't even apologise.
Not a nice situation.

I would advise caution when using this property management company. They employed a tradesperson to fix our roof and this tradesperson (who they say they use regularly) filled our recycling bin and household waste bin with their rubbish - fibre glass and awful smelling glue. Not acceptable.

Prospective landlords and tenants BEWARE.
My sister is a widowed pensioner with physical and mental issues who inhabited one of Nicholsons apartments for about 11 years, contributing circa £ 48,000 in rent during that period. Hardly a penny was spend on the upkeep.
Damp walls were ignored and the increasing fungus penetrated wardrobes resulting in numerous items of clothing having to be destroyed. Damp also damaged curtains which my sister replaced at her expense. She also replaced a fridge and washing machine when they broke down.
Unsurprisingly, her health also deteriorated as a result of the damp.
On a visit to take exit utility readings, the letting agent confessed the apartment was uninhabitable but she had been unable to get the owners to finance remedial action.
I consider the company culpable by not addressing these problems and, in my view, are not fit for purpose.
