I'm not one for reviews but I have to share my experience.
After renting my property out through Northwoods (a lot of years), it was time to buy a new property. They had been fantastic at managing the property over the years, with constant communication and regular updates. the property was never left empty for long, just long enough to allow maintenance to be done (By their approved contractors) before new tenants moved in. So based on their professionalism I choose them to handle the purchase.
It just seemed effortless, again communication was spot on, I never once had to call to push along, Sara and Sam seemed to be one step ahead and kept me well informed explaining any issues that might arise, when there was a problem they sorted it all out with a common sense approach.
When the other party seemed to be dragging their heels (solicitors) on completion, there they were again helping the transaction through to the end.
I can not recommend these guys enough, for making everything hassle free, with no stress at all.

Wow! As a cash buyer with no chain I'm regarded in Estate Agency lore as a 'hot' buyer. And as someone who has had many years experience working in Estate agency, I was very surprised to ring up to view a property to be told "Sorry, we are fully booked for that property, so you can't view!!"And this is while the property is still fully available and nothing to do with them being too busy to accommodate on any specific day, as I was entirely flexible. Just a flat out refusal! When I did the job, hot buyers were sacrosanct and property was never 'fully booked'! If I was their vendor/seller, this wouldn't sit well with me...

Tina was exceptional throughout. She was professional, but friendly. She had a good knowledge of the area to support positioning our property for sale. She was easy to get hold of and prompt with any updates. She really went the extra mile to do the best for us and make the sale go through as smoothly and as quickly as possible, and where there were issues she was always the first to support. I wouldn't recommend these people to my worst enemy. Tenants running illegal companies from the property and sub letting. 2 sets of tenants evicted without ever informing us. Extensive damage done and not repaired. The property was attended by several of their suggested contractors to complete works at a huge premium might I add and the standard was poor at best. Rude arrogant attitude from several of the office staff both on the phone and through emails. Nothing is ever their fault and the lies they tell are frankly embarrassing. Had to surrender our contract with them 2 months early just to end the nightmare. Zero integrity and a total disregard for their Landlords welfare.

My experience with Nothwood had its highs and lows. During the tenancy I will say that their responses were quick and they were able to sort problems I had. However, my experience towards the end and the begining were the lows. When I was a tenant, they failed to inform me of the essential information prior to move in such as allocated parking, location of the bins & meters and information incase of emergencies such as lock outs. They also scheduled a house viewing without informing me, first of all breeching the contract and putting me at risk as it was during the coronavirus pandemic and people were to enter my flat. They seem to be shocked that I was at home when they came in during this surprise veiwing and even stated they thought I was not going to be home. Had I not have happened to be home that day, they would have had a house veiwing without my knowledge. At the end of my tenancy they initally tried to take out more than £137 from my deposit. Had I not disputed this with the original inventory that they sent me, I would have had to pay that amount. This shows that they did not review the inventory but wanted to just charge me for anything they could find. My advice as a tenant is please be aware and do not accept the charges that they give you. I have also seen this advice from multiple reviews and believe it from my own experience.

They originally tried take £710 from my partner's deposit when she moved out, it was only after my partner supplied them with emails that had been sent to them that they back tracked and reduce the amount, still unhappy with what they were trying to claim and failing to resolve the dispute with Northwood she was left no choice but to get TDS involved who awarded them just £125.
Be prepared to keep a copy of all correspondence you have with them and don't feel like you have to except the amount they tell you they are going to return.

Not impressed. I was asked too many personal questions just to organise a viewing. I was put on-hold during a phone call for far too long while they find the details of their properties. Also they merged my viewing with another customer’s which felt really awkward and lazy on the agencies part.
I’ve had much better experiences with other estate agencies. My experience with Northwood Northampton felt unprofessional and was unpleasant.

Excellent service. We are first time home buyers and had come from having a really bad experience with Jackson Grundy who bullied and pressured us. Brogan reassured us throughout the whole process; chasing things up between the solicitors, always being available when we wanted to visit the property time and again to measure and just being there to support us at every step of the way. We really appreciated the moving in card and gift also.

We used Northwood to sell our tenanted flat in Northampton in January 2019. Brogan was our agent and was a total superstar and made the whole process really easy and hassle free. Tina and her team have looked after me as a landlord for over 10 years. They are always so happy to help and really easy to communicate with. I have to go abroad frequently and they always looked after everything flawlessly while I was away.
I recently sold my house through Northwood and Brogan was amazing; she is so proactive and kept me up to date at every stage. As I am not local to the property, Brogan and the team were also happy to travel to the house to check on things or speak to neighbours as required. Thank you!

It has been absolute pleasure renting property from Northwoods. My friend recommended them to me as he is renting a place from Northwoods as well and he is very satisfied. As told, I found Northwoods agency extremely professional, proactive and efficient. All the complains about property,if any, were dealt with very promptly and professionally. I imagine that most of the positive reviews here are from landlords and buyers. If you were a tenant, I highly doubt that your experience of this mendacious agency would have been a happy one.
I rented a property which needed to be deep-cleaned upon moving in, the oven in particular was in a horrifying state.
The walls bore scuffs, marks and peeling paint, this in spite of the fact that I was told that it had been decorated between the last tenant and myself.
There was a wad of chewing gum stuck on the kitchen window-sill.
One of the toilets did not flush from day one. The fridge supplied actually belched out HEAT!
There was a broken double plug socket in the upstairs hallway, exposing bare wires.
The bath had a very noticeable and deep cigarette burn in the bottom.
The windows, inside and out, were filthy.
The garden lawn was overgrown and two of the three bins were full on the day I was handed the keys.
One of the bedroom windows would not shut and none of the upstairs windows had keys, meaning that none of the windows could be unlocked or opened.
The most concerning `snag' for me was that there was no key to the French doors to the rear of the property, this door was unlocked and stayed that way until the day I moved out(I wouldn't be at all surprised if it is still to be found in this state, to be honest).
I duly filled out my `snag' list within the 7 days provided and handed it into the office in person.
Not one item was rectified in the entire 10 months that I was resident there.
This for a house renting at just under £900pcm, in 2010!
So, upon my moving out I had;
All carpets professionally cleaned.
All interior walls and woodwork painted(being a painter/decorator by trade, I did this myself).
A deep clean of all rooms and front/rear gardens, including pressure washing the paved areas and hiring a window-cleaner.
Northwood hit me with a snotty phone call, telling me that I had apparently "left the house in a disgusting state" and were attempting to give me just £300 of my deposit back because they could find no record of the `snag' list I had made and so must assume that I was responsible for all the items as stated above.
It took months and much toing & froing with independent body responsible for arbitrating such disputes between tenants and landlords.
Fortunately, I eventually(and rightfully) `won' the vast majority of my deposit back, I did take responsibility for leaving the bins full and on the pavement(due to be collected the following morning from my departure) and allegedly leaving the windows dirty(I had failed to procure a receipt from the window cleaner).
All in all, however, my experience with Northwood has put me in good stead. I now photograph every `snag' in any new rental property and scan `snag' lists to be sent in an email as well as handed to agents in person.
I'm glad to say that my encounters with agents since has been far more beneficial.

Northwoods have been managing my property for me for the last two years. I honestly can't speak highly enough of the staff in the office. The girls are incredibly knowledgeable and always super friendly, they feel more like friends than my letting agents and have consistantly gone above and beyond to look after me, my property and my tenants.
I am currently going through the eviction process and the support I have received has been very comforting. Tina and the rest of the team have continued to fight my corner despite my tenants no longer paying rent and therefore their fees.
Whether you're a landlord looking for a management company, or a tenant looking for who to rent through, you wont find better than Northwoods!

If it were possible to give zero stars I would. Northwood Northampton are the worst people we have ever rented from. Numerous lies and problems with the house when we moved in, any time we needed a problem fixing we had to pester and ring daily to get any movement, if they ever say "we'll call you back" they are lying. This is a company that has profited from making the decision that people do not matter and they can do whatever they want. They made the last year hell for my family and I do not have the time or patience to pursue a legal but I would if I could. Pay no attention to what others have said, they are polite on the phone but they do not care for you as Tennant's you are just money and they happily rake it in.

Before we found our new home we offered and started the process with a different property via another estate agents which fell through. After managing my rental property personally for 18 months, I decided it was time I appointed a trusted property agent. I spoke with northwood about letting my property on 09/02/2017, signed the paperwork that day, and a tenant was in the property by 22/02/2017, very quick, very efficient and now I am stress free as I am on a fully managed scheme meaning they take care of everything from security deposits to credit checks to all legal action if needed and the best thing is my rental income is fully guaranteed, thank you.

I cannot recommend Northwood enough. They are always so easy to contact and the maintenance department are always so friendly and helpful. I have had my flat rented out with Northwoods for over 10 years and would never change.
I find them fantastic to deal with and extremely professional.
I have never had any problems and Northwoods ensure my property is looked after.
Katherine the Branch Director is amazing to deal with , she signed my flat up in the beginning and her communication and attentive to detail is way above any other rental agency I dealt with.
Cannot thank Northwoods enough for looking after my property.

I have been a Northwood tenant for just over a year and have found them to be extremely friendly, approachable and helpful - with repairs, with contacting the landlord and even finding the property in the first place.
