I rented a property from them about 10 months ago. Still happy living in it. The staff has been very professional, efficient and polite. When I report an issue, it's solved within five days and I don't need to call twice. Overall, I have been very happy both with the property and the staff. They lied to me about a property,they put it on their website and when I called them they said they will speak to the current tenant about when can I view it,the next day it said the property was let and I didn't even receive any call,they reserved it to their friend but had to put it online to make it look legit

I visited this agency last week to view one specific property ( unfortunately it was sold out). I met Simon in the office from the rent department and he contacted Katie from sales department to organise the viewing for me for some alternative options. Both of them were very nice, friendly and great communicators. It was my first visit to Northampton to view some properties and I had very good impression because of them. Thank you so much!

It was left to the prospective ‘Buyers’(for whom we had reserved the Property for three months )to tell us via Text message to tell us they were unable to proceed!
We had signed our Contract ,and of course these things happen..but at NO time did James Anthony contact us and impart this news!!
At least three members of Staff(with whom we were dealing),left the employ of the Agents whilst we were dealing with them
We were not informed of this ,in fact after constantly enquiring to speak with one particular agent ,who was exceptionally adept(no wonder they moved on),we were told they still worked there!!!
They had left two weeks before!!
James Anthony constantly ‘made’ then cancelled Appointments..there was no continuity..heaven knows how they achieve accolades!
Frankly I would recommend them to find accommodation for a Hamster!

I called about a flat that was posted on the same day I called,they said I can view it they just need to ask the current tenant what time is suitable for them and they will call me back,2 days passed no phone call and know I can see that the let was agreed,and also the ad had no pictures,I will never ever rent from this agency in my life,I just dodged a bullet

I rented a house from this agency last year.
The stuff working there in the letting department are very very rude especially the manager.
We been left with no heating or hot water for 3 days and we have a child, everytime when called been told we are not the only ones and they have a lot more rented houses to take care of. Only when I told her that I will contact the council she send someone to fix it straight away. She always very rude on the phone, I am not sure how she even have a position like this.
I would avoid this agency!!!

Cannot fault James Anthony Estate Agents. We used them to sell our late fathers property and from the very start they were knowledgeable, kind, caring and professional during what was an emotional time. Their knowledge of the local market and understanding of current climate was so helpful and clear.
Whilst I spoke with many in the office Charlotte and Toby were our main points of contact and they always made themselves available as soon as possible. The communication was clear and timely.

I felt forgotten and had no feedback.
I was happy with the process until the last offer we made and a phone call I had.
In the morning I was told they rejected our offer and are looking to get closer to the guide price I asked to talk with my partner and ill get back to them.
Less than 1 hour later I made a phone call to submit a final offer.
The person on the phone stated "Well they have had higher offers so I don't think they will be going for your offer" I just asked for him to still submit my offer as we are first time buyers so it would be a quick process.
The reason for my 3 stars then, is because I firmly believe they knew about this offer in the morning and just neglected to tell me which might of made me reconsider whether that would be my final offer but my word is my word. Once I say final offer that is it, I can negotiate but I won't make another offer. If I knew that they had offers on the table I might of not gone down the final offer route.
But in conclusion I might just be being ignorant and I don't know how the system works as this might be normal, my response is that I'm new to buying a house I have done research but I haven't dealt with many estate agents and this just felt okay. So 3 stars for an okay service. 4 stars if they followed up and provided other houses to look at. 5 stars if they would of helps us through this process (go above and beyond).

I rented a house with JP property who is now james anthony...i must say i had a very bad experience, from been rudely spoken to on phone all the time and constant visit to the house to check, as if by the time they check i will have move the whole house to a different location(stealing the building)
During covid time they will still come in to do inspections and at a point asked my partner who was then working from home to stay out of the house so she comes in to inspect.
Two ladies (clare and Jean from the wellingborough rd office branch very rude )whom were constantly rude and harrasinvg us any time i speak to them on phone or comes in for inspection. ,very offensive people i have ever come accross.
They have very bad customer service. And will never recommend them to any one...????????????????????

We are really impressed with its progress, our plot is still on track for completion in September 2021. Called for a viewing of a property and no one came back to me, after I called to chase the man on the phone said no one recalled talking to me and I 'must be confused'. I was not.
He then let me know the property already had offers above asking so was likely I could no longer afford it... a bold assumption as it was £100k lower than my budget.
I'm not sure if he was inexperienced but he came across as very rude and patronising. He could have just said 'sorry we had viewings on that property yesterday and we have had offers, if nothing happens I will be in touch' - polite customer service is simple but judging by other reviews and my personal experience it doesn't seem to be well trained at this agency.

From the first meeting with James the whole process was seamless - Property was sold within 48 hours of hitting the marketing and the after sales engagement was even better, the team at James Anthony took care of everything with regular communication through to completion which is 100% what I signed up for and got.

I just wanted to say the biggest THANK YOU to JAEA. We couldn’t have done it without them! It became very clear as we were going through the sales process how different JAEA are from the other agents. Once all the other estate agents in the chain had got the offer they didn’t seem at all bothered in engaging with the process. Not the case with JAEA. Hannah is an absolute star! She had knowledge of where everyone was in the chain at all time. She was the one that pulled the whole chain together. She seemed to have a really good working relationship with all of the solicitors, which was so useful to us all. It’s this support that was so invaluable and I honestly believe that without her we would still not be anywhere near completing. This is what sets JAEA apart from the rest, excellent customer service and support. I have no hesitation in recommending JAEA to anyone who is considering moving.

It would have been five stars but for the description of the house we did buy, but needed extensively far more work than I anticipated. The description was for an extremely well maintained house, which was way off the mark, but ultimately my responsibility as I found out to my extensive cost.

Whether you are buying a house or selling one I would avoid these bunch of tosspots at all cost.
Not even sure where to start with the utter ridiculousness of this 'estate agents'
Took me a week to get a viewing for a property. When I saw it, it was exactly what I was looking for. Right area, right house, right everything. I have a budget of £200k for such a property and it was up for £185k couldn't believe my luck that I'd found the right one for under my budget. Bare in mind that I have a mortgage in principle, a deposit ready and I am a first time buyer (a vendors dream).
I phoned later in the day to place my first offer. The 'saleman' (who I later found out is the director) was unavailable so I asked the woman on the phone if I could put in an offer with her and give her all the relevant details. Now I am fully aware that you can't just go and place offers on properties without an affordability assessment. This arrogant princess however started a very rude interrogation process. Asking me things such like 'and you reckon you can afford that' 'what's your brokers name' 'spell it' 'who does he work for' 'give me your brokers mobile number' when I explained to her that I dont have my brokers mobile number but could Google the office number she replied 'You expect to buy a house but don't have his mobile number'...and it continued. She ended the conversation with 'Toby will be back in the office in a couple of hours, he will phone you then' and then hung up.
Honestly I was in shock with the total lack of people skills from this woman. I was just trying to put an offer in for a house!
After waiting more than 5 hours for a return call, I decided to phone the office back. Toby the original 'saleman' answered the phone. I asked him if he got my offer and the response I got from him was equally as rude. He said how yes he got my offer but didn't know how I expected to get the house at that price (whilst laughing) but he's left a voicemail with the vender and he will phone me once he gets a decline.
I didn't offer a ridiculous price, I offered 175k as a first offer, hoping to meet them somewhere in the middle but if the estate agents bothered to qualify me properly, they would've known that I actually had 200k to spend.
Quite dejected from the whole experience I went to my brothers house for dinner. He happens to live about 20 steps from the vendors and the house I wanted to buy. He suggested knocking their door to find out if we could agree on a price and let them know that I'm not having the best experience with their chosen estate agents. Whilst there I got the impression she knew them personally which now I can only assume is the case.
The estate agent left me a very aggressive voicemail the following morning asking for a return phone call. I returned their call within half an hour but Toby was unavailable. I then waited for a return call for a day and a half before I phoned them again. Toby answered the phone.
He spent the following 20mins verbally abusing me. Saying that he will not put forward any offers to the vendors and they didn't want to deal with me no matter how much I was willing to pay. He was not sorry for how he spoke to me on the phone as it was a ridiculous offer and how I know nothing about buying or selling houses.
I explained to him that I am in sales myself and would never consider speaking or treating anyone the way that the company had treated me, he laughed and said that he could've guessed I was in sales.
I'm assuming you will read this Toby and probably try to abuse me further when literally the only thing I have tried to do is buy a house from your company. Maybe if you treated your customers better you might be able to afford a website!
Lastly to the person that lives on Malcolm road...know that you have missed out on a sale as they will not put forward any offer I make. If you use a different estate agent, I will gladly offer you asking price.

We have sold and purchased through this agent and it was a pleasure to have some trustworthy bodies acting on our behalf. The procedure of our sale and purchase were carried out professionally and correctly with feedback that was honest and constructive. Thay acheived what our house was marketed at and purchased our forever home thanks to this well organised and established business. This estate agents are amongst the worst I've had to deal with as a seller.
One hour after signing my sole agency contract i had interest from a 3rd party. I asked James Anthony himself to postpone any sale for 2 day. He refused and said he would look for compensation if i dealt with anyone else. This is 1 hour after, not a day, not a week, 1 hour.
My contracted lasted 8 weeks and today I've cancelled it. Mr Anthony has told me if anyone lists within 14day he will fine me.
Even though they've taken down the property explaining to me there's no point wasting money on advertising it.
I look forward to James reply, i have email screen shot of most of which has been highlighted.
A very small and poorly run company. My best advice stay clear.

I would like to thank James Anthony Estate Agents for all of their help and advice in renting a property in Northampton. The team were friendly, knowledgable, patient and couldn't have done more to help! Compared to other local agents that I met with, they were honest and professional... not like the salesy, smarmy types that you get in other agencies in Northampton. I have met some awful ones! James and his team listened carefully to my requirements and I felt that their advice was given to genuinely help my personal needs, rather than just thinking of me as a sales figure. Thanks again guys. A great set up, no wonder you were awarded Northampton's best estate agent! I would highly recommend this estate agent to anyone looking to rent their property or find a new home.

The service we received from James Anthony Estate agents was excellent, first time we have dealt with an estate agent who was more than happy to earn their fee. we were selling from a distance but with their help this was no problem at all. They found us a buyer within a week of putting the property on the market and stayed active throughtout the whole process, often doing things we would have expected our solicitor to do,can't reccommend them highly enough!
