We have bought and sold many properties over the years in various locations and just moved to this unknown part of the country so a lot of homework was needed in order to find the right property in the right area. To be honest I have very little faith with estate agents , having dealt with many over the years, so it was lovely to actually find one who was honest and really make you feel comfortable. Step forward the Highcliffe branch of Pettengells, and in particular Dean and Caroline who dealt with our purchase, and to be honest they could not have been more helpful. They actually took the time to understand what we were looking for and were honest with answering our questions, nothing was too much for them which made us feel at ease. I do a fair amount of reviews and only speak as I find . I give credit where it is due and this team have certainly earned their top review. We found all the staff at the branch to be polite and respectable so a big thank you very much to you all.

A huge thank you to Caroline & team (who were agents for the seller of the property I purchased). The customer service was always prompt and helpful, with Caroline being easily available via email or phone if needed. Dean at Pettengells was a huge help to me as I was moving from some distance away. I told him my requirements and as soon as something became available he called me. He didn’t pressure me but simply gave me time to assess if the property was for me (which it was). From then on in he kept me informed about the progress of my purchase and when finally the time came to collect the keys he waited until I could get down to Highcliffe to collect them. He has a calm manner which is just what is needed. The other staff at Pettengells were also very helpful and pleasant at all times. I really recommend this estate agency for their friendly professionalism.

They are truly professional, answering any queries in a friendly manner, both promptly and efficiently. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them. Therefore, if you want your move to be a pleasure, then aim to deal with Pettengells if at all possible - you won't be disappointed.

Pettingells closed their Christchurch office shortly after accepting our instruction. They claimed our house was worth a full £70000 more than we ended up trying to achieve. They were always polite and courteous but failed us on a number of counts. The agent who showed potential buyers around our house explained on entering each room 'lovely, isn't it' but failed to say anything useful based on knowledge of our property, its potential or any understanding of the potential buyer's needs. After 12 weeks and only 6 viewings we discovered that they had placed our bungalow strategically on the main sites so that if the 'bungalow' filter was used our bungalow disappeared as it was categorised as a house. When we pointed this out they blamed their web provider who in turn said it would not have made a difference. However, once rectified the hit rate went up from 80 to 120 per week. In short, they demonstrated over our 16 weeks with them that they were incompetent at almost every level.

The move from Barton on Sea to Highcliffe should have been easy, but we had a list of 'should have' features. It took us around a year to find our ideal home. Much of this time was spent studying properties on Right Move and Zoopla. Dean at Pettengells, Highcliffe took us to view several potential properties, and kept us updated as new ones came on the market.
He realised that we had lived at our old house for many years and wanted to be certain about the choice of a new 'address'. He was patient, understanding and wanted to help. Eventually, we found the home we had been looking for. Pettengells in 1981 had 'sold' us our old house, but this was really despite the agent who almost lost the sale.
Pettengells 2017 were a great help, and we have no hesitation in recomending this Estate Agent.
