I have been managing the rental and sale of properties on behalf of my parents since they became vulnerable and unable to do this. Redferns in Ottery St. Mary have been extraordinarily helpful in relation to all of the arrangements I have had to deal with, some complicated by the fact that I don't live locally.
Everyone I have dealt with at Redferns has been polite, efficient and professional in providing a personalised service according to the various property related matters in hand at any one time. They have just dealt with the sale of a property in Honiton and really went the extra mile to make sure everything went smoothly.
I have no hesitation in recommending this business very highly.

We were struggling to find a property to buy during the 'crazy summer of 2021' when houses were selling so fast that we were about to give up all hope of finding a suitable property. Redferns were extremely sympathetic to our situation, very helpful, professional throughout and persisted in finding a suitable property for us.
Despite being extremely busy themselves they always gave us their full attention, were very flexible in appointments to view properties and responsive to any questions that we had on any particular properties.

Redferns first impression with the first valuation of the property was excellent, explained all the procedures from beginning to end and under the circumstances of our selling our deceased parents Bungalow was extremely sympathetic. Lee spent a great deal of his time with us and answered every call and every text almost immediately. Lee went above and beyond his duty. We live a seven hour journey from the bungalow and he popped around every few days to check the property for our insurance requirements. Anything we asked of Lee he was so helpful and informative. Lee made the whole thing so easy for us. I highly recommend this company couldn’t of wished for any better. Thank you so much to all the staff.

Lee looked after us well. We had a somewhat unusual property with attached holiday cottages ,so a niche market purchase .Lee worked hard to promptly follow up interest and arrange viewings . He also maintained his patience when one or two issues with the solicitors got a tad frustrating . Communications were effectively followed up too so "get back to you" when busy always meant that ,not always the case with some companies and we have moved 16 times in 42 years so seen it ......been there etc . A good company worthy of your trust and business .

Buyers beware! Referns at Ottery St Mary were berated by Ombudsman for printing untrue and unsubstantiated details in their agents sales particulars. They refused to admit their behaviour and attempted to edit their sales particulars to cover up.

Con man lee m******* of redferns stitched my friend up . She was told the house have a 5 year nhbc guarantee only to find out as she going through the purchase procedure this was not true .she is now thousands out of pocket trying to put this right .shame on redferns and the estate agent onbudsman for letting this go on .hopefully they go out of business

I cannot recommend them enough from the set up to the every day maintenance .
We are fully managed by Kylie at Redferns and it literally means that.
Kylie has been brilliant with any issues resolved quickly and efficiently, she has been such a great help! Definitely a friendly and efficient 5* lettings manager.
I spoke to Kylie on the phone about a problem with a different letting agents for my neighbor who just wanted to understand a few things. She was so lovely and explained everything in a way i could understand to help them even though they weren't a customer

Redferns managed the rental of our house when we went away for a year. Initially, they put in a lot of work to find a tenant they were happy with. They then managed every stage efficiently - from monthly rental to sorting small maintenance issues - and with little input required from us. We basically didn't need to worry about anything, which was brilliant! The tenant left the house in immaculate condition, which was more than we could have hoped for. Add to that extremely friendly and professional service - highly recommended!

I cannot recommend Redferns in Ottery St Mary highly enough, we have now bought and sold twice through them and we will not use anyone else in the future.
Their attention to detail is brilliant and more importantly they know the market place better than anyone else. Sometimes it's easy to think your house is worth more than it is (as it's your home) but having an estate agent that genuinely values your house based on market conditions is priceless and makes selling so much easier.
The team are friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble.
Communication with your estate agent is key when buying & selling. If you want an estate agent that cares, is passionate about their clients and houses whilst being honest & open then go with Redferns.

Redferns marketed my mothers house in Feniton towards the end of the year. Within a couple of hours of the house going on the market we were informed we had two prospective buyers, an offer was made, accepted and the purchase went smoothly to completion. We found Lee and his team at Redferns professional in their approach with regular updates on progress and could not fault them. After some two years plus had passed, Redferns advised me mail had been passed onto them and they mailed it to my home in Cyprus and absorbed the cost. Excellent service and would have no hesitation in recommending their services to prospective purchasers and sellers.

Redferns use some very debatable tactics to make it look like they have a stronghold in the property market. Houses that have been sold subject to contract are advertised as being available. When questioned about this we were told they only mark as sold once contracts have been exchanged (no point in marking it as sstc once contacts have been exchanged). Also they advised that many sales fall through, hence their reluctance to mark as sold. But no one took our details as being interested in those properties so we would never know if they did become reavailable. This happened to at least 5 properties we expressed an interest in. Clueless....
