Stags are racists and I hate that they take through the viewing process yet knowing that they won't give you the property because of colour just wasting people's time but if you are white I can recommend you there but if not don't even waste your time.poor service in the market

STAGNANT
Andrew Luxton; complaints department and 'senior partner', is arrogant, futile and tardy when responding to complaints. Unwilling to accept culpability, liability, and responsibility for damage that was condoned (through property inspections) by Stags.
Paid for full management and they:
- allowed tenant to redecorate entire property, rewire most light fittings, damage bathroom cabinet and change kitchen sink without permission. I was not informed and discovered when accessing property day before new tenants moved in.
- deliberately lied about condition of property on inspections
- took over 2.5 months to get oven fixed which I ended up sorting myself, despite paying for full management. Tardy responding to emails.
Got Property Redress Scheme involved.
UPDATE: Sept 24:
Responded to 1 issue queried with ombudsman. Have neglected to respond to any communication since regarding other issues, despite emailing 'senior partner' and complaints department. Sluggish and retrogressive.

This estate agency is absolutely terrible. As a person trying to buy a home they are rude on the phone and don’t seem proactive, or fussed. I think it’s the worst estate agency I’ve come across and it’s a shame because they seem the prominent agency in Dorset and Devon (perhaps they know they have the monopoly). I’m now searching for homes that are with other estate agents

if I can give a zero rate, I will do for this agent. The agent hire a very nasty and unethical lettings manager Claire Staniforth.
She took over the job and increased the rent, ultimately forced us out by serving the notice.
She put her client the landlord first, charging many bill after the vacant. She to me that she hire someone to remove the concrete and add the bill up. I found that she did not do it .
She called herself MARLA but I dont think she should pratice anymore. Unethical, nasty and very dirty letting staff, deposit theft
I file complaint letters to her professional bodies, put hard and dont let her charge you easily.

As someone that deals with clients everyday I have not been impressed with the journey so far to the extent that I will be removing my property from their books over the weekend, they need to work harder on how they talk to their customers and send people to do viewings that know how to sale a residential house

I was not happy with my dealings/communications with one of the members of the staff here. Strongly think he forgot thst I was a prospect buyer and therefore a customer regardless of who his client was. He got a little carried away justifying his point and I had to cut our communication shorter than I would have liked.

This place still charges fees if you're going to rent a property from them how they do it if they charge an extra two weeks deposit on Top the original month's deposit it's just another con to make you pay more so basically they can get their fees out of there it's all another scam a lot of letting agents and estate agents are doing it just be careful there's a lot of corruption going on especially in this well off as they call themselves letting agents or estate agents

This is an email service, they email you about a new property listing, you reply within four hours, then they email again saying demand is too high to accommodate your viewing.
All this having already filled out a full application form, twice.
This has occurred multiple times!

Everyone at Stags was extremely professional and gave excellent advice during the whole sales process. I was very happy for them to show our home to clients as they really took the time to get to know us and our home. I always felt I could pick up the phone to them and got an honest answer. Exchange was fairly nerve wracking as deadlines came and went, but Stage told us to stay firm and Im glad we did! I would definitely recommend Stags.

Having had my property listed on the market for approximately 5 months with a local agent I had approximately 7 viewings and one offer. The photos and marketing of the initial agent were very bland and communication was when I chased it. Stags took the property to market and had in excess of 15 viewings in the first week and 5 offers within the month. The photos and marketing effort was exceptional. Through no fault of Stags the sale fell through on a Friday afternoon and Stags had viewings the following day with an additional 5 through the week resulting in an offer and eventual sale. The team at Stags Honiton were very professional and communication was very good. There were several people in the office who knew my property and they were able to answer any questions that I or potential purchasers had. I would without doubt use Stags to sell any future property and I think that any local company would struggle to match the service they provided.

Just moved out from Honiton, and Stags were our estate agents for renting. They gave us everything we needed when moving in and out and have always been helpful. However, since moving away and using a different estate agents, we have discovered a system (Signable) where you can sign everything online and there is no paperwork at all (and is kept there forever so is always accessible, which means no folders full of contracts). In the future I will be looking for estate agents that provide this as it makes life so much easier.

Renting through Stags.
I have been impresed with the professionalism of the company itself.
I would give stags more stars..but
We are having some problems with maintenance in and around the house. I have been into branch a number of times to be told they would get in touch with people to sort it. However I am still waiting to be contacted to have the work booked in.
It might well be the workmen at fault here but at the end of the day I'm paying my rent fees in full on time and expect a better overall experience.
I have been trying to get things sorted out since we moved into the property in October. We had an issue with privacy at the beginning which has since been delt with. Workmen and the landlady gave no notice of there visits letting themselves in! Builders Tools and equipment had been left in the garage even on the day we were moving all of our stuff in. We had to stack everything out of the way for the builder. After a number of repair attempts from a plumber we are still unable to use the shower, taps including the shower drip, I have had to unblock a sink, one of the storage heater makes a whistleing noise, the TV sockets are not working and outside the fence in the back garden is falling down.

I would think very carefully before taking on this company whether its selling your house or working for them.
The Fee's they charge are for nothing any other agent doesn't door can't do, and certainly does not go towards the individual's that do do their very best to give that extra service.
This company has a strong sense of untrustworthy, disrespectful and unfair treatment dependant on your sex, STILL! The company are left behind due to their 'old fashioned ways'. They are in need of some modern input in the management/(overcrowded) partnership.

We have used Stags, Honiton when selling and buying our last two homes and they have been outstanding in every respect. If you are looking for a really good agent, someone who is really efficient, entirely honest, open and knows the area better than anyone, a team who don't just give you a standard service designed for everyone but take the time to understand what it is you need, then look no further. You really do get a level of involvement and commitment that's exceptional. I have no hesitation in recommending them for selling your property or buying - I wouldn't entertain the idea of selling through anyone else.

I have both let and sold property through Stags. Throughout both procedures I have found the manner of the staff unfailingly decent, cheerful and helpful. They address your brief and appreciate issues that arise, from both a human and a professional standpoint, offering sound advice from their years of experience. Both processes have their inevitable ups, downs and challenges but these have been approached in a professional, thoughtful and constructive manner. They listen with care and don’t stint on the time they give you in discussing details as they arise, adapting process according to the developing situation. Really helpfully, in particular circumstances, Camilla also willingly volunteered to go ‘the extra mile’ in helping beyond the usual call of duty. Attempting to sort out the most appropriate agent for what can be an emotionally charged business, can be tricky. If you would like to deal with a person and not just an agent – do try Stags.

I can only say positive things about my experience with dealing with the Honiton office of Stags. From the start they were great with communication between all parties and everything was done quickly and efficiently. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and Camilla was really superb throughout the whole process.
Having spoken to and dealt with lots of other estate agents over the months of searching for a property, I would definitely say Honiton Stags are one of the best one's I encountered and I would highly recommend.

We rented a property in Mid Devon through Stags and unfortunately didn't have the best experience. The communication between staff members in regards to information being passed, messages relayed and general customer service was not good at all and made the entire process extremely frustrating. Overall we were left not having much confidence in the team. I would be extremely put off buying or renting a property again if Stags were the agents.

We chose Stags of Honiton to market our house sale because we were impressed by the combination of good advice and integrity with a friendly manner that each member of staff demonstrated. When the house selling process became stressful for us because of many delays and small problems along the way, our negotiator Camilla worked very hard to find information to keep us in the picture and definitely made us feel that we had an effective and hard working ally. Happily everything worked out well in the end, not least because of the significant contribution made by Stags of Honiton. I would wholeheartedly recommend Stags to any home buyer or seller.
