I found Simon Blyth very easy to buy a property from. They were easy to contact and whenever I needed something from the sellers, or needed to pass something on to them (whether it be making an offer or helping speed up the conveyancing process) they were very quick in contacting them and providing me with an update. I mostly spoke and worked with Grace who was very friendly and helpful. She quickly sorted everything needed, provided clarification at the beginning on things I wasn't sure of and made the nail biting moments of purchasing my first home a lot easier and less stressful!... Rang them to make an appointment for a property viewing, staff wasn't even aware that it was their property so transferred me to Huddersfield branch saying that its their property and then after speaking to Huddersfield branch I got transferred back to Holmfirth back where staff just hung up on me instead of helping me. We sold and purchased our house via SB. Unfortunately it wasn't a straight forward sale due to our sellers but I can honestly say we couldn't have done this without Emma B and Grace B. They were always available to speak to or would call back as soon as they could, listened to our concerns and acted very well on our behalf. It became very close to the wire when we were waiting to exchange and the work Emma did on the day before and the day of was nothing short of amazing. I don't think we would be in our new home now it if it wasn't for Emma's hard work on the 2 days. I just want to say a big thank you to Simon Blyths team (as I think I spoke to pretty much all of you) for being so understanding even when I was calling 3 times a day!... Read more

To be brutally honest the one star I have given this poor excuse for an estate agent is one star too many. My brother and I put my mums house on the market at the beginning of the year. Everything was going great with plenty of viewings. However my mum lives in a very desirable area in Holmfirth, so this wasn’t a surprise. Once a buyer had been found that was as far as it went!! Zero communication and false promises all the way to the end….. “Emma is in a meeting, I’ll get her to phone you back once she’s finished her meeting” This was a standard response when I phoned for updates on the sale of my mums house. Two/three weeks later and I never got that call back. This wasn’t a one off either, this happened every time I phoned! Emmas meeting must be very long indeed!! A couple of months ago when I phoned for an update, I was told that the chain had broken further down the line and had happened a couple of weeks ago! Why myself, my brother or my mum weren’t informed of this situation I’ll never know! We have now got to the point (end of August!) where we have taken the house off the market and my elderly mum, (who was moving to Cornwall to live closer to me, so we could look after her in her final years) is now staying in her house because her health is very poor due to the stress of all this. On another note, Blyths recommended Holden Smith Law as good solicitors to use. These were equally incompetent in every respect. I can only recommend that you don’t use either company if you want to sell your house.... Read more

We couldn't be happier with the service we received from the SB team! We would highly recommend them as they got us 12 viewings in one day, 6 offers, and it sold for over asking price! We got to know the Holmfirth office quite well whilst selling our property as we always popped in to say hi and check progress. We were always greeted with smiles. Joe did a great job of valuing our house and asking questions to make sure the evaluation was accurate. Grace and Samantha were always checking in with a happy and positive attitude and there was always someone to answer the phone and deal with our questions quickly and efficiently. Emma maintained great communication with us and our buyers throughout the entire process and made sure the solicitors moved quickly. We will certainly be going back to them next time we move!... Always found the staff in the Holmfirth office to be very accommodating and helpful whenever we've been in touch or been in. Never had any problems with the agents as yet. Terrible Lettings Service Experience We recently found a new home in Honley for our 78 year old mother in law. Simon Blyths Lettings failed to return calls, misdirected information, messed up the rental paperwork, and worse of all - confused and contacted the elderly lady directly, despite being specifically asked not to. All the way through the process they showed levels of incompetence that was explained in writing by Simon Lewis, the Lettings Manager as as a consequence of them being busy.
