I am a tenant of Smartmove from April and I have a really good experience with them. Since I rented the flat, everything went as smooth as possible. I want to say that before I had a very bad experience with a very popular agency and I didn't know what to expect from Smartmove... but they are approachable and very professional. Very quick response times to all of our queries and there has been really clear and detailed communication throughout the process, from arranging viewings of the property, to the signing of contracts and key hand-over. Me and my partner have just moved into our new home with the help from the lovely staff from Smartmove. Kelly, Jo & Sanjay have been such lovely people to work with! Kelly and Jo had helped us out with the application process and had made sure we stayed in contact throughout the whole process. They are really friendly and reaaallly helpful. Moving homes can be a stressful time but Kelly and Jo had made this such a easy, smooth and fast process. If you want that stress free move, Smart move is the place you need to go to. Following a drawn out problem with our heating system I contacted the Leicester Smartmove office, they listened attentively, promised to get it sorted and the next morning I had a plumber and heating specialist asking if he could come straight round to look at the problem. 3hrs later we are warm and toasty, all our radiators are working properly and the issues are all resolved. We found everyone involved to be friendly, patient and professional. Did what they said when or earlier than they stated and did it well. We can't praise them highly enough. My son's girlfriend rents a property off Smart move and there is no out of hours contact number for emergencies. She has a 8 month old baby and she woke up this morning to no hot water. Frankly this is very bad. Letting Agents have a duty of care to their tenants. It is non existent here. Smart move need to provide an out of hours contact. Poor service levels.... Read more

Me and my wife are renting houses from 13 years and never ever come across more friendly and professional letting agent. We used to rent houses in the past from only two private landlords (Robin and Colin) which I dare to say we can call friends. Now, after 19 months of renting from Smartmove of Northampton we can say that we have another two friends - Bimal and Loren! Monthly inspections? Hmm.. we had two over 19 months. Always knew about them ahead. Once I had to ask to change the date of inspection as I was going for Champions League to Leicester and there was no problem at all. Loren arrived on time which I asked for! Both inspections were very friendly, not invading our life at all. They were more like friendly visit than anything else should I say. Once we had a problem with patio door lock and it was promptly attended to, very next day lock was fixed. With great regret we had to make decission to relocate and when we informed Smartmove about it, Bimal and Loren were truly devasted as if they were loosing friends. We felt the same way.. Several viewings arranged by Smartmove upon our notice were planned in very professional manner. We were able to say when we want them and Smartmove was very accommodating. Again, viewings were conducted with minimal disruption of our day. Even the day of handling the keys back was like saying good bye to friends, only bunch of flowers not available ha ha. Over 13 years of renting we never lose a penny from our deposit and so was with Smartmove! We had whole deposit back two days after we handed back the keys. In summary- we miss you guys! Dear Bimal and Loren - we miss your professionalism and friendlyness! When we come back to Northampton (hopefully soon), we definitely start looking for a house to rent from Smartmove!... Read more

I've never dealt with a more unprofessional and frankly criminal letting agent in all my 10 years of renting properties. Overcharging on fees and rent, constantly invading your privacy, carrying out illegal and unannounced "inspections" every month (yes month!) Unwilling to keep calm on the phone (swearing, threatening etc. from their main jumped up little agent, Bimal). They tried to rip me off and not return my deposit when I decided to just leave because I couldn't stand the constant anxiety of wondering whether my privacy would be invaded today or not. An absolute shambles, the entire company. Unprofessional and unfriendly til the last. If you're looking for privacy, peace, a fair price and good service, AVOID THESE CROOKS LIKE THE PLAGUE.... Absolutely appalling. Where Do I start; false advertisement , poor management skills and lack of understanding. I spotted one of their properties via SpareRoom...modern, refurbished - went for a viewing at the property. Days later agreed to go ahead with wanting the property, first the application fee was wrong on the offer mail (lady apologies - which was no problem , got amended straight away). This is when it all starts, the prices on SpareRoom did no correlate with what I was told, pictures gave false hope in all aspects. Had to constantly call and persist for things to be done immediately - it's not fair for people who are looking for somewhere immediately, the employees there lack the understanding and functions when somebody is looking for a property. The company relies on one person to consult when there's issues and when they aren't in - it's like the employees have no knowledge and expect you to wait days like it's nothing. I can say with pride that I don't recommend this company.... Read more
