Evie is a miracle worker. I came in from abroad and she showed me an apartment the day I landed. It was a great property so she immediately got the process started and I moved in just a few days later. She even came after her work timings just for the handover so I could move in early. Repeatedly excellent service when selling or buying property. David and Jamie are both brilliant, get things done and always come back to you very quickly. Not pushy at all, just honest and fair with their valuations, communication and general dealings. I've used them a few times and the experience has always been the same. They're a breath of fresh air, some of the other agents I had to value were outright lying or playing pretty underhand tactics to try and get me to sell with them. Jamie, on the other hand, just came for a chat - all up front, the good, the bad, the ugly and the easily repairable, all was laid on the table. I'll be using them again when I next get the chance

I had an overpaid bill to Howkins & Harrison as I forgot to cancel my standing order after I moved. After I contacted their Northampton office reporting my overpayment I got a phone call from Drew Stewart confirming my bank details that he can return my overpayment to. Shortly he sent me an email confirming he's just arranged for the amount to be returned as requested.
A few days later, my money is back....

My property has had issues for a long while with a communal entrance door which allowed access to anyone. The new Property Manager, Drew Stewart, contacted me about this and took full details. I was shocked to find out that just a couple of hours after our first conversation the door had been fully repaired and was now secure. With young children and elderly people in my block this was a huge safety issue so I’m so grateful to Drew for taking my concerns so seriously and dealing with this as a priority.

I have rented with H&H for 5 years now and when you live in a property for that long issues will come up. On this occasion there was a problem with the plumbing and although I initially called it in on a Saturday morning, was called back and told that someone would be to fix it on Monday (I requested afternoon). I called on Monday and was lucky enough to speak to a gentleman named Drew, he was very polite and have managed to send me someone the next day (Chris) who went above and beyond to fix the issue, and even though he had to deal with a very peculiar tight space which required a specific slim type of materials, even though that brand new part turned out to be faulty and he had to go and get another brand new part, neither Chris nor Drew gave up on their task, with very fast actions and evident knowledge and hard work, they managed not only to fix the issue but also turn an unhappy customer to an extremely happy (5*) one who is very thankful and appreciative of the work Chris did and how Drew handled this from start to finish. Thank you both very much!! ????

i have not written recommendations beforehand but then it is rare to get the service and help i have received from mr drew stewart....not only today but over the past few weeks. he has been dealing with a leak from our flat into the one below, for which he has the responsibility to rectify. he has been caring, sensitive to resident's needs, and simply a delight to deal with...a rare commodity in my experience these days.

Just wanted to say how great these people are. It's hard to find a letting company that cares about the tenants.
I only have good memories about the tenancy. During the 2 years we've been with them, they helped us a lot, never questioned things, always eager to help and never a bad moment.
Whenever I had a question, it would have been resolved in a matter of days. Really pleased with them ?? We only moved out as leaving the country, otherwise we would've never.

My son and his partner regretted their decision to rent with them almost immediately.
The property was fine, but the level of service and professionalism from the staff was simply shocking.
The staff within the lettings department of Northampton were at least consistent with their lack of desire to help.
With hindsight, the warnings were there from the beginning as I had to chase them for updates as the agency never showed any initiative. Once they were in the property, Howkins and Harrison perpetually used the excuse for their poor service that they didn't return calls or reply to emails as they were 'busier than usual', or 'the best person to do anything was out'.
When eventually you get hold of someone, they're pleasant enough but don't expect anything they say or propose to actually happen without hours and hours of chasing.

David came round to value my house and gave me an honest appraisal of where the price should be and why I wasn't getting viewings, regarding the way it was being marketed.
All of a sudden I was getting interest due to new photos and fresh advertising. I also met Jamie who was showing people the property, which sold on the second viewing. There were a few problems with other parts of the chain, but David and Jamie sorted this out and went above and beyond in my opinion. I would definitely use these guys again. I've brought and sold quite a few houses over the years, H&H are by far the best agents I have ever used, thanks again guys.

I rented a flat from this agency for 4 years and 6 months and sent me and my family to check like on zoology from month to month. we paid the rent on time every month and when I decided to leave that address I they did not give the guarantee back because I did not give them notice and that they smelled of cigarettes in the house and that after I spent last year 1200 pounds to paint and paint the whole house and I didn't give a pound back because the owner didn't want it. We were looking to rent an apartment for quite a while since our landlord was selling the property. Tried lots of different agencies, some of them were awful at discussing things, and some would say we do not have enough documents, etc, etc.
Then we stumbled upon this apartment that was let by Howkins & Harrison, decided to try and apply. I did tell them everything other agencies told us and they advised us to still apply. We did, and after a few days we paid the holding deposit and then after a few more days we got accepted and yesterday moved in into our new CLEAN apartment.
So far I had the best experience with these guys, really saved us :)

Evie and Javed was amazing and the 4 stars is completely for them! Landlord sold our property and Evie helped with finding another one, ensuring ourselves and 3 children had somewhere to call home. Having said this, I would wish that the property inspectors held the same standards when checking out a property as when conducting the inventory. Some considerations for the fact that houses are to be lived in would have been nice and the fact the property is a new build as when it’s an older property that gets noted. This definitely tarnished our experience. Unless you are going to repaint the whole property before you leave it you may as well say bye to your deposit.

Shocking service. After moving out of a rental property we have been treated disgracefully by andrea fletcher. These people are trying to do all that they can to keep all of our deposit. Have lived in many rentals over the years so I am very aware of the process. We have always got our full deposit back with no issues. Andrea has been unprofessional in her email responses and plays the victim when questioned. We have always been on time paying our rent. Prior to moving in to the property we asked that the small fridge in the kitchen be removed as we have our own fridge/freezer. The fridge was removed prior to us moving in and now at the end of the tenancy they are acting like the don't know where it is. Very unprofessional indeed. After sending us the checkout report they then tried to add more deductions a few days later for a burn mark that was not there when we moved out and was not picked up by the agent on the checkout report. If you are thinking of renting with them go elsewhere.

My first and last time using this agency. I've been for the first time to see a house with them and had the worst experience. Me and my partner been the first ones to see the house, but after us was another couple. Later that day, the agent told me that the other couple paid for the holding deposit and he told me that they will give us the chance to pay also for the holding deposit. The second day I've been to the office at 9am to pay for the holding deposit and they have told me that the house is gone. And now the house is advertised on the market "LET ON 1ST VIEWING", but that's not true. That's a false advertising just to make people think that their agency is the best one, but cheating not gonna make the best agency.

The sales manager is extremely unhelpful and rude, when the sale of the flat we where trying to buy was making no progress as the vendor was deliberately stalling even though we where told it was not in a chain by the sales manager, he made no attempts to help or even mediate to achieve at least an exchange date. We felt like we had no choice but to pull out of the sale. The agent didn’t even try to reach out to understand what went wrong. Overall he was rude, disruptive to the sale and incompetent.

We had to move to Northampton because of my job and I needed to find a place very quickly to be at the office. After trying a couple of places and not hearing anything in a timely manner, my partner discovered H&H. They had a great 3 bedroom house in the perfect location. From registering our interest, it was less than 3 weeks to moving in!
The whole process was really painless and Evie and the crew always responded promptly. Considering we were 180 miles away, it was easier than renting our last place face to face!

This is now the 3rd house my wife and I have sold through H&H and we have not been able to fault them throughout. Jamie and David have been spot on. Nothing is too much trouble; from the initial call to come and value the house to completion. They may be a tad more expensive than the 'internet ones' but worth every penny for the caring, personal touch that I feel the industry has lost. Calls and emails always answered very promptly with answers and good advice. Thoroughly recommend.

I did experience very rude service earlier this week from Bartram & Co , so dealing with someone as lovely and bubbly as Evie really made me leave positive feedback . She did absolutely great even though she had little bit rude clients prior us .

I decided to use howkins and Harrison after seeing them sell a few properties in my area over the years and more recently 2 further properties, 1 was sold within a week and the other sold same day.
David Clarke came and done my valuation, first impressions very personable, confident and enthusiastic, other agents I’d had to value my property were less confident and not enthusiastic at all.
I had no doubt from that first meeting that david could sell my property quickly and in less than 2 weeks it was sold!
throughout the buying process due to circumstances out of their control and also ours we encounter some difficulties within the chain however David and his team stepped in to help get the deal completed within days, I feel if I had gone with another agent the chain would have fallen apart. They went above and beyond, I can’t thank them enough for all there help and support.

Choosing a provider to value, market, show and ultimately sell your home is simple. The range of options, offerings and costs especially given the number of internet providers springing up is vast. However, choosing the right one is a little harder. We were recommended David Clarke at Howkins and Harrison and I now know why and am very comfortable recommending them in turn. The service went way beyond my expectations and I am a demanding client. The true test of a really good agent is stepping in and managing on your behalf with your instructions when things start to go wrong and get difficult - which they inevitably do with what is often a fraught and emotional transaction. I have been using hawkins and harrison for 3 years now. I have dealt with other agents in northampton and they are by far the best one. I won't bother marketing with other agents going forward. They find good quality tennants that pay on time and thats all you can ask for. My tenant also said that she thought they were a great agent so worked well for both of us. I have dealt Javed is great at keeping you updated and responds quickly.

I was in a desperate situation I needed a flat urgently to house my husband who had just been granted stay in the country and was due to come that week. Howkins & Harrison's Duston office were the letting agent I had the pleasure of dealing with last year, when renting a property to be closer to my family in Northampton. As a landlord myself letting properties in Suffolk, I have previous experience of dealing with letting agents, who have not always provided the service I would have liked. Being a tenant in this instance I could not fault Howkins & Harrison's attention to detail and particularly Jamie's expertise in steering me through the application process. As a prospective tenant I was given all the information required to proceed with my application in a speedy and easy manner, especially as the referencing is most efficiently done in-house.
Once settled in my new home, a three-monthly inspection was carried out by Vanessa, again with a useful information letter asking me to mention any problem that might need attention.
When I unfortunately left the property to return to Suffolk, I was given clear instructions as to what was required of me, and following these ensured I received my deposit back in full within a few days of departure, together with a letter of thanks on how nicely I had left the property for the next tenant. If only there were more letting agents like Howkins & Harrison!!!

Over the last two decades I have had a lot of dealings with Estate and Lettings Agents both professionally and for personal reasons. I can honestly say that few measure up to the professional standards to be found at Howkins & Harrison. I would trust them to handle any transaction whether buying, selling or finding good tenants as they are interested in achieving a good outcome for the customer, unlike some of their competitors who are just commission focussed.
