This is a great estate agent for first time buyers because of their level of great professionality, knowledges and ethics! We began our process of hunting for a house back in July and fell in LOVE with a gorgeous house listed under Property Explorer (all the houses they list are fab!) - we put an offer in and it was accepted the next day! The agency were generous with their time and guided us all the way, displayed great standards of ethics and consideration and kept us fully updated all the way through! I want to give a special shout out to Kevin Cheeseman who has been managing our case and has been so great to deal with. Not a great first impression of this company. Contacted them to arrange a viewing of a house they have listed and felt very pressured for them to book a valuation with us. Whilst I understand they are trying to secure their next stream of income we've already had 3 valuations in the last 2 weeks, with a full time job and a baby I felt like it's a waste of valuable time to be told exactly the same information. When I asked if the valuation was a necessity I got quite a blunt response. It felt like I was being held to ransom so I cancelled the viewing. I now wouldn't use this company to sell my home if this is how they are with potential buyers.

As many others have said avoid this company at all costs.
Wish we’d done a quick bit of research first on Property Explorers as we could have seen the kind of people we were going to be dealing with. When others have been physically assaulted and physically threatened by the owner it’s a pretty big red flag! Whilst we haven’t been physically assaulted or physically threatened (yet) our experience wasn’t much better.
We hired them to “manage” our rental properties. I use the word manage very loosely as would be lucky to get a response, forget about getting any assistance.
When we decided we’d had enough of their “services” we were initially met with threats if we left. When this didn’t work we were then offered discounts before more threats started.
Trying to speak with anyone at the company with any authority is near impossible. They simply brush you off to their secretary that will simply fob you off with lies and nonsense. I’m sure they’ll defensively respond to this review with similar nonsense and lies.
Tenant's were also relieved to see the back of them as had experienced similar frustrations.
Majorly regret not getting rid of these guys sooner. There are many better and cost effective management company’s around and we were quickly able to find a much better solution with a little online research.
Do yourself a favour and save yourself a lot of time, money and headaches and look elsewhere. Struggling to find anything positive at all about our experience with them.

If you can avoid them, do. The Property Explorer is always on the side of the landlord even when they clearly shouldn't be.
Firstly, we had inspections every 6 months that would constantly blame us for the state of the flat that was entirely the landlords fault. For example they blamed us for poor ventilation in the bathroom, but that was because the extraction fan was broken and the landlord refused to fix it.
Secondly, when we moved out the agency made us pay for a professional carpet clean. The carpet wasn't in a great condition when we moved in, I have photos from our move in day of stains. Also the carpet has clearly been there since the 80's so obviously there's going to be some wear and tear that goes beyond us (we'd only been there two years). Then to make things worse when we moved out, the prop. Explorer tried to claim that we hadn't had the carpets cleaned so would need to take that out of our deposit. They said the carpets were 'disgusting' (maybe something to do with the fact the landlord refuses to get new ones?). Luckily we had proof that the carpet cleaner had been so they eventually dropped that argument.
We ended up only getting back around 25% of our deposit because of all the ridiculous things they and the landlord charged us for. The woman I dealt with on the phone (don't remember their name) was incredibly rude despite being friendly whilst we were tenants.
Overall, as a professional and respectful couple we just decided to move on with our lives and let them keep the deposit.
So just a warning that if you are renting with this agency they will not be on your side, and if you have a difficult landlord they will blame you for things that are not your responsibility and maybe even charge you for them.

Although I've not rented from this lot I will say something....the type of tenants they allow in their properties arent fit to live in kennels. There's no vetting obviously and when handed a noise complaint their answer is to 'send a letter'
I've been kept awake or woken up each and every single night of the week for over a year by my good Explorer tenants next door and nothibg more than a letter. The fact I'm on probation is the only reason I haven't stormed in their and got myself into more trouble. The disrespect shown here is disgusting

Stipulating ‘no pets’ in rental accommodation, which this agent is doing, is illegal! The government unveiled legislative changes to the private rented sector in May which allows renters keep pets in rented accommodation. Under the renters’ reform bill, tenants have the legal right to request a pet in their home, which landlords cannot unreasonably refuse! Take note, Property Explorer!

In response to the review left by fredsimon123 i would like to add that his review is completely wrongful and incorrect.
The team at property explorer, kevin cheeseman in particular, bend over backwards to help with sales and purchasing of properties.
The property he is relating to was my parents property and i would like to add has now been sold successfully, had surveys done before the sale completion and none of which have highlighted such issues.
Here is a prime example of someone who was hoping to bag themself a bargain but came unstuck because kevin refused to pander to him as did my parents.
Im very glad to hear he has now found a property but in all honesty if its that fantastic why decide now this late to leave such a damning review for someone who is trying to help people to move on and sell or buy a property, (especially in the current climate) i find this to be very sad indeed.
So to close dont believe all you read and if i or anyone was ever to want to buy or sell in the future i would not hesitate to use kevin or any of his team at the property explorer.

Viewed the property, made an offer, the offer was accepted. Did a Homebuyers Report and found out serious problem with electrical installation, asbestos and bricks falling of the rear wall, and few other issues, tried to negotiate the price with Kevin Cheeseman from property Explorer, he was an absolute time waster didn't want to negotiate any reduction even though there were serious issues with the property. Spent most of the time telling how many years he had been doing the job and how great he was. Absolute time waster.
I pulled out and managed to buy a bigger and better property for a good price. Lost my solicitor fees and fees I paid for Homebuyers Report. I would have managed to work something out if it was not for egotistic Kevin Cheeseman from property Explorer.

Great experience buying. We were first time buyers with a fairly large budget and Property Explorer were the ONLY agents in Basingstoke who took the time to email and phone us when new properties came on the market to arrange viewings, even after registering with all other agencies. I don't think I can make this clear enough just how beneficial this was for us and how much it was appreciated. Even with properties selling themselves in the current market, Property Explorer were still willing to put in the hardwork and generate interest. Very accommodating for viewings which also found to be quite difficult to arrange with other agencies. If you're a seller you have to question what you're paying for if you are using another agent, as in our experience you are not getting any sort of service unless you use Property Explorer.
Used both their recommended mortgage advisor and solicitors - both were very highly rated and we would have no hesitation to use them again. All staff very friendly, very on the ball when we has a question and have genuinely no negatives at all. Remember some of the staff from when we were trying to find a rental 2 years ago, which is always a good sign at an agency if the staff are happy and stay.
Intend to use again when we come to sell in the future but on the other side, and will be recommending to family in the area.

Today we have completed the exchange of contracts stage !! 7 weeks ago I was discussing with The Property Explorer agent( Danny:) about putting an offer on the property and now we will have the dream house...OURS!! I have tried on to view 3 properties with "The Property Explorer" and NOT succeeded in seeing any one of them! Every property that they advertise has an open day which is always on a Saturday. They don't even try to make appointments at other times, and their stock answer is "the vendor only wants an open day". So if you have to work on a Saturday find a different agent because evidently The Property Explorer only likes the lazy way of selling houses since it means they only have to go out at the weekend.

Fantastic from start to finish! Bought, sold and secured my re-mortgage with the teams help and it was a first class experience at all times. Gen and Oliver were instrumental in helping me secure an above asking price buyer for my house, as well as sealing a deal on my new property which I love! Stuart made the porting of my mortgage across stress free and even during a last minute glitch, took the time after hours to smooth things over.
