As a buyer, I have dealt with most estate agents based in Thanet and Thomas Jackson are easily the best that I experienced simply because they just did what I needed them to - I asked about a property, they arranged for me to see it, and then they helped move things along to their conclusion. When I had a question they dealt with it and were always polite and helpful. There was no pressure to use certain solicitors etc, no foisting other properties onto me that I was not interested in, no phoning or texting every day because I hadn't responded to spam (not that they ever sent any). These things seem to be sadly acceptable practice to most estate agents but not here, and made the process far less stressful. Thank you.

The flat I bought was up with 2 agents, one a well known high street chain and Thomas Jackson. I chose to go with the latter and when my offer was accepted, that’s when the magic really happened! Thomas Jackson are always on the end of the phone and I feel that communication is one of their best features, this is a family run business in it’s finest. They will always respond to calls/emails, give advice, chase and help wherever they can in a friendly and professional manner. If I was buying/selling again in this area I would without a doubt use them and know you won’t regret using them too.

Respected my initial request for a valuation with being hassled about it and when we decided to go ahead some months later Darren and Samantha did great work with the pics and marketing. Casey was always on time with the viewings. But the star of the process was Anne whom chased the sale with the other agents in a long chain and much else. Well over and above. It simply would not have got to the point of exchange without here.

I have used Thomas Jackson for a number of years now for finding tenants or selling properties and they always provide a 1st class service at very competitive rates.
This time the team have sold a property for me and as always the service has been top notch. In my opionion thier service is the best available in the area, as team is local and independent they can offer you a very tailored service to individual needs. They really care about thier clients and the service they provide, this was demonstrated by the level of commitment they put into selling my property. The excellent communications they provided between all the relevant parties made a super smooth and faultless transaction.

My husband and I had our house on the market for almost a year when my brother recommended Thomas Jackson Estate Agents. We scheduled a meeting with Darren and were so impressed with his conduct and professionalism. Within less than a month we were on the market with TJ, and less than a month later we had an offer on our house. Darren was very contactable throughout the process and very informative with any questions we had. We would highly recommend TJ to any friends or relatives who are planning to sell/buy in the future. Once we had an offer on another house accepted, we were introduced to Anne, our sales progressor. Having had no correspondence with almost anyone during our first house purchase, we were blown away by the regular updates we received from Anne on at least a bi-weekly basis. Anne was fantastic in answering any questions we had and in chasing solicitors on either end of the chain. Anne went above and beyond for us, and we cannot thank her enough for her help and kindness throughout. Our experience was extremely positive and the whole company are friendly, warm and willing to go above and beyond for their clients. We would highly recommend.

Samantha and her team have done what it said on tin. We got the usual 3 estate agents round to view and value our property. 2 large estate agents and a small independent ( Thomas Jackson Estate Agents). The larger agents both under valued and tried to sell us packages that were not appropriate we felt. We just didn't feel comfortable. Then Samantha came in and instantly we felt the old fashioned values that many company's seemed to have forgotten about. She was honest and straight and didn't hang about once we agreed terms. With the agreed approach we got plenty of viewings and offers and a sale agreed in a short period of time, even though it was not long after Xmas.
Communication was great across the whole team so can't thank you enough. Fees very fair too.
We feel with an independent, you really get what you pay for, after all they only have a small number of properties on their books apposed to a large company and so have to sell your property ASAP to make a living. It just works ! I find with the larger agents, it's a numbers game and can't give the time that an independent can.
All in all I highly recommend Thomas Jackson for their professional, family approach.

I’m very grateful to Thomas Jackson because I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. This was my first time buying a property and the team at Thomas Jackson were wonderful! From viewing the property to exchanging, every step of the way has been easy and stress free.
When we viewed the property with Casey it was a very different experience than we had just had with a previous agent because Casey felt like a friend showing us around rather than a salesperson.
When I called to make the offer I spoke to Darren and he remarked on the property and gave personal, genuine feedback about it - not just saying something to make a sale. His reassurance was very valuable and important in that nervous moment.
After the offer we made was accepted Anne was excellent and showed exceptional care and kindness towards me and went above and beyond to make sure I was aways kept in the loop and understood everything - even in matters I should have asked my solicitor! Anne would look into things for me that she didn’t have to do but she was always quick and happy to help and that support was so appreciated.
They are a very clear example of the personal and elevated experience you receive from a family run independent business and I couldn’t recommend them highly enough.

There are so many laws and health and safety requirements involved if you want to let a property now and it is so easy to be on the wrong side of the law.
Hannah from Thomas Jackson took that burden away for me.
I have opted for full management and compared to other agencies their prices are very competitive.

This is our fourth time with Samantha, Alex, Darren and the team. Buying and selling during Covid and stamp duty holiday has been difficult with longer waiting times with solicitors due to the sheer amount of transactions during this period.
As ever, Samantha remained professional keeping everything together and without her on the case, things would have fallen through. She worked extremely hard to keep both seller and buyer calm and to liaise with other parts of the chain. Alex and Darren were kind and helpful and managed to clinch a good price on our sale and were always responsive and helpful when everyone has been under pressure. Our sale was slightly more complicated and without this team onboard, it probably would not have happened.
There were some tiny glitches however with staff training, but these were resolved by the manager. The senior staff at this branch always aim to provide a supportive experience, they are cheerful and informative, keeping you updated from beginning to end, whilst helping to make the whole experience less stressful. In my experience, this is not easy with a larger firm which is why we returned to once again to Thomas Jackson.
As a seller, you will be offered advice to sell your home and as a purchaser they will show you properties that suit your lifestyle and budget. You don’t want to be trawling round hundreds of unsuitable properties and as a seller you want to be able to sell your property at the right price on the market. They are polite and courteous and work hard. Communication is always good.
There experience and expertise has been second to none and I would definitely recommend to others. A special thanks to Samantha, Alex and Darren, this year has been hectic for us all and often people do not appreciate the efforts made by estate agents to get a property through from start to finish. The property we purchased was an ex rental and had been left with furniture, a stenna stairlift and a garden full of rubbish, white goods and a tv.
The vendor (I am told) was an elderly man who hadn't sold a property before, therefore needed help. We were very clear that we wanted the house and garden cleared before contracts were exchanged. Sam at Thomas jackson took on the responsibility of helping him out and arranged for the house to be emptied, but on checking, the garden was still full of rubbish and the stenna stairlift was still in the property. My partner spoke to Alex and was told that as the stairlift is electrical the scrapman couldnt remove it. My partner said as he is an electrician he'll disconnect it and leave it outside for the guys to take away. Regarding the garden I spoke to Sam (and also told her that we wanted the stairlift gone to which she said ok) about it still being full of rubbish, so they arranged for the scrapman to come and clear it, but this couldn't be until after contracts were exchanged. We went ahead and exchanged contracts and the men came the following week to collect the rubbish. They were told to only collect certain things, so we were left with a load to get rid of ourselves. We paid the scrapmen £30 to just get rid of what was left. He did to ring sam twice, but his calls werent answered. He was also told to leave the stairlift, I just couldn't understand this as my partner and I had both told Alex and Sam we wanted it gone, he even showed me the text message he sent to Sam, shall I take the stairlift to which she replied, no, leave it. He kindly arranged for someone to collect it.
I phoned Thomas Jackson and got through to Sam. I wanted to tell them that I was upset with the way the house had been left, (and having to pay £30) especially after we had told them we wanted these things gone and were told that they would be. She was rude, argumentative and patronising. She told me that she was told we would get rid of the stairlift and that she had told the scrapman to clear the garden and sighed that the man should have got in touch with her and she'd have given the ok. I said that he did try to call. There was no offer of giving me £30. I explained several times that my partner said he would disconnect the stairlift and leave it for the guys to take and she was adamant that we told them we would dispose of it. I said to her that I told you I wanted the stairlift gone and you said ok, to which she denied and told me that my partner spoke to Alex and said he would get rid of it himself and because that was after our conversation that superseded me! In the end she passed the buck to Alex. So I asked Alex what my partner had told him he was going to do with the stairlift? Of course he said disconnect it and leave it for the scrapman outside.
The whole way along the sale there was miscommunication and the end just topped it off. I have to say Alex and Darren were helpful.

Well, the whole team at this estate agents are something special. During a recent sale in Margate, where we couldn't participate much from our home in Spain, they took over and organised /dealt with everything.
"Customer ownership " is a failing concept these days and it is an absolute joy to be able to work with people who really understand what it means and immerse themselves in it.

We have used Thomas Jackson to manage our properties for at least the last eight years and are very impressed by the efficient but personal service they provide. Our properties are checked every six months as stated in the tenancy agreements, we receive a written report and photographs so we can pick up on any faults that the tenants don't report. Their advice is always clear and helpful. We have been extremely happy with the calibre of tenant they have found us. Absolutely awful - even for an estate agent.
The young 'lad' who was supposed to show us a property turned up almost 20 minutes late, arrived speeding in his car on the phone. No apology was offered until he realised how annoyed I was.
Can NEVER get through to someone on a phone, have to leave a voicemail which may or may not get returned.
Despite all this, we indicated our interest in a property and requested details of the application process which ended up being half a dozen emails with questions and each time we responded, more questions! No way to substantiate our answers either.
Didn't bother with the property as they were so difficult to deal with - clearly one of the smaller estate agents - avoid!

Thomas Jackson is a family-run estate agent company and all the better for it. If you are making decision on which estate agent to choose in the Cliftonville/Margate area, look no further. Always contactable and extremely professional, we knew we had made the right decision in choosing them to represent us right from the start. Having the personal touch from a family-run business goes a long way compared to the typical results-led, sales-pitch attitude you get from the bigger firms – and they get the job done with the minimum of fuss. Absolute joke of an Estate Agent. Arrange an appointment to view a property and they don't have the decency to show. Not only that but when you try to ring the office to find out where they are nobody answers the phone. Eventually after waiting for 15 minutes I decide to drive to the office only to find it closed and what I can only describe as a 12yr old in his dad's suit stood outside, apparently he worked there but was locked out, hence why nobody answered the phone.
What was even more infuriating about 20mins later I received a call from the office, an appropriate adult must have arrived to open up. To be told the "Manager" had been outside the property for 15 minutes and I hadn't arrived but she would be happy to overlook my mistake and rebook and appointment. Ha ha. So the manager is either incompetent and went to the wrong address or just couldn't be arsed to turn up. Anyway safe to say I'd rather live in a box then have anything to do with Thomas Jackson.

The service we got from the moment we first met Sam was efficient, warm, honest and truly felt like she was aiming for an even and happy outcome for both the vendor and me the purchaser. We had a horrid experience with Miles and barrs who seem ruthless and obsessed with pushing the prices up higher and higher doing closed bids and fear tactics.
