As regards Lettings, I found both Zita Goldie and Victoria Lilley, whom I dealt with most recently, very helpful and effective.
With regard to Property Management, however, I am less pleased of late. While Sally Munday and then Heather Wood were in charge, my experience was wholly positive — true 5-star service — but since Heather moved to another department there has been a constant change of Property Managers which is, to say the least, disconcerting. To add insult to injury, management fees have gone up and the services offered reduced. As my association with TuckerGardener goes back a long way, I can only hope this is a temporary blip.

Disappointing. Had a valuation booked and had arranged a days work from home accordingly with good notice. Tucker Gardner cancelled the same morning of the valuation due to Tucker Gardner double booking themselves. Unfortunately it appears quite unprofessional and not a good sign for future reliability and organisation. I won’t be rebooking. Obviously I can’t comment on their capability once appointed.

Tucker Gardener have been our lettings agent for a couple of years now and they have been nothing but trouble. Our account manager kept changing and no handovers ever seemed to have been done. Our tenant reported a broken toilet seat, among other issues, and none of there were ever fixed.
Emails were not responded to and when we escalated to management we received rude and curt responses. Tucker Gardner seemed to just want to hold the keys and would always ask us to "pop over" and let the workmen in, or meet the tenant and hand them the keys. We never received an inspection report nor did the tenant so we have no idea if certain damage existed before they move in or not.
They have been dire and its been more effort using Tucker Gardner that doing it ourselves, what a waste of money. Maybe other branches are different but I would avoid this branch completely.....and we STILL don't have the key back for our property.

I had a very good experience with Liam from Tucker Gardner. Liam was very responsive to all my questions on phone or email. I asked him to finish all the steps very quickly as I wanted to move in very soon. Indeed, the referencing, the zero deposit and agreement were completed quickly and I could move in within almost one week or less including some delay from my side as well. Thank you Liam and thanks to Harry as well for helping with the move on Saturday as I was busy during the week and also helped me test the smoke alarms.
My only concern is that Tucker Gardener was not initially aware of few important details about the property such as which council it belongs to.

Tucker Gardner are simply the best in Cambridge. I am a young medical doctor who came into the UK barely two months ago and started searching for a big property because I wanted to bring family into the UK.
Tucker Gardner made it a very seamless process for me. Harry was particularly helpful as I had to cancel two of our previously arranged viewings(due to my busy schedule) and he graciously sent me video tours on both occasions.
I have a feeling that I even stressed them a little more than usual because I had a lot of boxes to tick for my ideal property so there were so many of their properties I initially liked and then let go again in the middle of the process because of distance to my place of work. But they remained calm through it all. There's a female voice( can't remember her name now)who kept talking me through the process throughout.
Thank you Liam for the free ride after one of our viewings. I have a place to call home now because of Tucker Gardner. ????????

I were with them as they are advertising a property I want to buy. They were very good showing me the property. They were very hard to get hold of by telephone. I have made two offers which were deemed low, this may be realtive and one shall accept. What kill it for me is the property is still available despite they said it was sold to someone else almost a month ago, moreover, i have no evidence that the owner have seen the offers I made, normally other companies send formal letters, no log or follow up on their system which other companies will allow one to do online. It seems to me like I were dismissed or excluded for something I have done which I am not aware of. As I were always chasing them despite being the buyer which something I have no explanation of.

I rent a property manager by them and they do the bare minimum. They let the electrical certificate near expire before contacting me to arrange the inspection. It has expired by the time they got somebody booked in. I had an issue with their bank refusing a payment (the money was in my account and waiting to go) and I had to chase them a week to get them to take the payment. In the meantime they had credit control ask me why I hadn't paid and threaten me with fines and interest. They really don't seem to care about their tenants, I would avoid them if I had the choice.

EDIT from 5 star to 1 star. Avoid. After previously being happy with the service (see below) with regards to referencing and getting the property let to myself, I have been left overwhelmingly disappointed by the service once we have become tenants. Multiple problems, including mould (which is a health concern), leaks and ceiling damage, not being tended to fast enough despite living here for 2 months. Constant calls and emails, no evidence of progress after 2 months of collecting our money. Fast to get you renting, not so fast to help you once in. I am a landlord of a property elsewhere and know how much money the companies take from the rent that is due, if any landlord is reading this, you are unlikely to have happy tenants by using this company. prospective tenants, avoid.
I leave the previous 5 star review as i feel it is a disservice to jessica who was helpful with her role at the company at the start, and as proof I am more than willing to give 5 stars when it is due, not just one to come here and complain.
Jessica Black at Tucker Gardner, and the rest of the team, have been really fantastic with helping us relocate. We had quite a few challenges along the way, including navigating UK visa/immigration services, and they helped us with it all. Nothing was ever a problem, their responses were fast, efficient and friendly. Overall, we are really happy with their service and would like to thank Jessica very much for all her work so far on what is a very important life change for us in moving home.

People looking for rent. They are not for you. Very dishonest and unhelpful. They will show you properties but I can guarantee you will never get them. They wasted my time on numerous occasions by showing me properties which they knew were going for sale rather than renting. I traveled 3 hours to see it and got my time wasted and costed me a fortune. So please find your selfies other more honest and helpful letting agencies to help you.

Had a problem with shoddy work carried out by Tucker Gardner contractor on fence adjoining myself garden. Raised the issue on 3rd April and despite 5 phone calls and 3 emails have not had a response from them over 3 weeks later. I don't think they are interested because I am not one of their clients. Disgusting customer service and I will certainly not use them as my letting agent.

All legal stuff (referencing, zero deposit, rent payments, etc.) were done very quickly and at appropriate times. Everything was a very hassle-free process.

Incompetent & maliciously lazy, this is the worst & most unprofessional letting agent I have ever experienced I stayed at a property managed by Tucker Gardner for 3 years, almost 8 months of which was without any form of central heating over the winter of 2020, the agent did almost nothing to fix the issue, among a laundry list of other issues
When we first moved into the property the agent had not even checked that the property was hooked up to the gas, as such for the first month of the tenancy the property had no heating or gas for cooking hobs
When a leak developed in the bathroom the agent sent someone to fix and said they would paint over the water damage but they never did
Upon ending the tenancy agent took 100% of a sizable deposit on a 4 bedroom property and proceeded to return £0 of it, ignoring our requests for information about how the deposit was split, and also stating things that were noted on the inventory when we moved in as new damage
Do not ever use this agent, they fleeced us for every penny on letting agents fees and a huge deposit but provided almost no help In Solving issues

As a relocator back to the U.K. it wasn't easy finding a home or dealing with all the red tape, contracts or applications to rent. I landed up in UK on 24th May 2019 with my family and without having a confirmed accommodation. I was in preliminary discussion with a charming lady (Miss Deborah Hunt) from Tucker Gardner over phone from India. But on arrival I realised that It was a complete mess as some of my documents were in US and were getting delayed. I was thinking of returning to India and may come back after a month. With little hope I reached Tucker Gardner’s Great Shelford office. And there we met Deborah who made everything so easy and soothing for us. She made us feel at home. She was so supportive and took absolutely every step to help us. She was so humane and had that personal touch that within minutes we felt in a comfortable zone. She is one of the best and sincere employee I have seen in UK. Every time we called her she ll be there for us even if it wasn’t her domain. She ll direct it to the concerned person. The story didn’t end here, when we left the property I didn’t close the direct debit and there was an overpaid rent for about a month. I tried many numbers and mails but all in vein and finally I wrote to Deborah knowing that it is not her domain but she as usual took my request to a logical conclusion.
I have absolutely no doubt that an employee like her is an asset for any company. No agency is 5 star or 1 star with its infrastructure alone but it is employee like her which makes them the best or the worst. The only regret I have is that I couldn’t see her on the last day but I would always remember her in my prayers. Deborah Hunt is an angel with human face and we wish her all the best in her life. Keep touching humans with your virtues……

The problems start when you move out. They tried to charge us £275 for cleaning although we left the house spotless.
I took a lot of photos of the mould and state of the kitchen when we moved in and while living there we redecorated and even put in underfloor heating in one room.
We disputed the £275 they had plucked out of thin air and it looks like they didn't provide any justification for this figure or send anything to the deposit protection people.
Expect to get most of your deposit back when you leave then the remaining couple of hundred back three months later if they don't even try to defend themselves in the dispute.

I rented out my property with Deborah at Great Shelford Tucker Gardner earlier this month and I am absolutely impressed with the service I received.
Deborah was 100% professional and very responsive to messages. I just couldn't have asked for more from a lettings agent. She took the initiative when I wasn't sure what to do, she was calm in the face of a tight deadline, she was completely in control of the whole process and her experience greatly shone through.

Rude, unhelpful, incompetent and negligent.
The troubles start when you move out. Utterly terrible at communicating, emails just bounce back due to inboxes being full so don't expect a reply let alone for anyone to receive your emails. Heather is the worst, combative, rude and unhelpful, massive waste of your time trying to get anything resolved through her.
This was a massive shame as our initial experiences and those during the majority of our tenancy were fine dealing with Tucker Gardner.
The agency lost our contract, our inventory but had no qualms making claims based on documents they didn't have. It has taken us over 6 months (!!!) to get our deposit back due to their utter incompetence. So if you hope to use your deposit urgently after you plan to move avoid them like the plague.

Every step of the process for our end of tenancy required multiple emails to get a response. It took 2 month to get our deposit back, even though there were no landlord disputes at all. We have rented multiple properties via Tucker Gardner over the past 15 years but Country Wide seem to have stripped their ability to offer a good service - customers now get caught up in bureaucratic processes. We're now renting direct, agencies like this cause more problems than they solve.

I can say that the experience with TG was less than satisfied. During the entirely lockdown period, we heard nothing from them. Even after lockdown they were not proactive to look for buyers for us. We had to chase them. Eventually we had enough and switched to another agent. Again, nothing from the sales department as if they don’t care. Avoid TG in shelford office by all means. And don’t rent through them as well, they still owe us money and so far after chasing I heard nothing from the woman I dealt with. She is one of the managers there. Shame that she does not care about her job.

On the whole the service has been not quite up to the standard I was expecting from a company such as Tuckers. If it wasn't for the help we got from Deborah I wouldn't be giving four stars. The trouble we have had with energy suppliers has been a real put off. Tuckers did not make it clear to us at the beginning of the contract that they would be putting their own energy supplier into the equation and as no starting gas reading was supplied by the person that did the inventory it has caused us and our tenants no end of trouble. The only one to offer any support was Deborah and I thank her for it.
