Village Properties have managed my portfolio of rental properties for well over a decade. I appreciate their professionalism, knowledge, resourcefulness, and unfailing good humour. Recently, Sam has also helped me to sell two houses. Her knowledge of the sales market is as thorough as that of the rental market. Her initial research was thorough and detailed, and formed the basis of sales strategies that were both considered and adaptable. The latest sale took place at the height of the pandemic which raised a number of peculiar challenges. I never had any qualms about Sam showing the house to prospective buyers, knowing that she would apply the same level of care and attention to the extra precautions as she does to everything else. The process took five frustrating months, and would probably have taken even longer had it not been for Sam’s persistence and commitment. Contrary to the other reviews, we had a pretty sour experience with them and hence left at the first opportunity! We let a property managed by them and found them to be pretty lax and unresponsive in resolving important issues. They also did not disclose problems with the heating across the house at the time of letting, which left us cold and inconvenienced in the winter months as it required major works to be done to fix!! And finally, they even slyly wanted to deduct money from our deposit, for not hanging some nylon curtains back (left by the previous tenant we did not use) when we left!! We have been dealing with Samantha Avery for years, even when she was a spring chicken at Winkworths, letting our two flats in Barnes. She then set up Village Properties and really did give us personal service in letting aided by her wonderful Anna and Jo. Great advice about how to improve things to maximise rent and in the end we sold it through them for a very good price. A local business like theirs is a much better way both to let and to sell in our experience. Sam, Anna and Jo are the ladies who run the show and they are the most helpful, kind and thoughtful trio ever to hit the real estate business! Being frank, I have never held Estate Agents in high regard, particularly in London. In fact, dealing with Estate Agents is one of the worst tasks we have to do as tenants. Generally speaking, London is littered with big companies seeking to turn a fast buck and are all too keen to get clients trapped in their snares. Once a contract is signed your name is seemingly forgotten and filed and you're no longer a human, the favour is weighted towards the benefit of their landlord clients and you're usually stuck between a hard place and a hard place!! At Village Properties THIS CERTAINLY ISN'T the case. From the moment you step into the office right up till the year after you signed on the dotted line and beyond, these ladies will remember who you are and even the name of your beagle! Walking or phoning the office has never been riddled with the usual apprehension I have always experienced having with other firms. Village Properties will ensure business is conducted in a stress free, friendly yet professional and effective manner and your best interests are always considered. Village Properties have been the agency for the property I rent for the last few years. As a tenant, I couldn't ask for a more professional, fair, and friendly service. They utilise a good network of contractors for when things need repairing or replacing, and any works are arranged efficiently and swiftly.
