She gave well informed and astute advice plus case history in a local context, to help illustrate risks and benefits. I don’t think we’ll need to appoint VMH at this time, but based on this interaction I wouldn’t hesitate to use them in future for other relevant matters e.g. property sale. I viewed a property for sale with VMH. Put in a note of interest and an offer at homereport value for the property via my solicitor. This was rejected. Then when looking online a week later, I noticed the property had gone under offer with no communication of this to myself or my solicitor.
On contacting VMh my solicitor was told their client didn't want to sell to an investor.
Very poor communication, disrespectful to a potential buyer and will not be spending my time viewing properties for sale by vmh again.

Took 5 and a half hours after the time on the closing date to find out (after I sent an email asking) that I hadn’t been successful in making an offer for a house.
Was the highest bidder, but the seller went with the second highest bidder as they have apparently sold their house already (which is their right of course).
Not told what the offer was that was accepted. Not kept updated at all on the day. No doubt will say that was on the sellers estate agents and they were chased, but I still should have been updated throughout the day rather than me having to ask at around 4.00 pm. Actually found out through the ESPC website beforehand that the house was “under offer” so knew I was unsuccessful having had no contact from them.
Have used them three times to try and buy a house in the area I want and they have failed each time. Get it’s a sought after area, but that’s Edinburgh in most parts.
I’ll use Nielsen’s in future and maybe they should stick to first time buyers and fixed prices. Could have made a lot on selling mine too, but failure comes at a cost as they say.

I do NOT recommend VMH Solicitors. The only thing they seem to be interested in is taking your money. As a buyer I did not feel VMH was acting in my best interest. In theory, they should put their client's interest first, yet during conveyancing I felt they didn't care about achieving the best outcome for myself, their CLIENT, if it meant making some extra effort and a bit more back and forth with the selling party. There were also various admin mistakes which wouldn't have happened if Chris Hocking who dealt with my case had been more diligent.
Don't repeat my mistake and chose a different solicitor.

As a first time buyer I had a great experience with Stewart and VMH. Stewart was very supportive and knowledgeable throughout the process and I am very grateful for it. They also have one of the nicest and actually usable estate agent and solicitors websites of the ones I have used.
Overall an excellent service and I would happily use them again next time I require it and will recommend them to friends and family.

Great experience from start to finish. Professional and regular contact throughout the selling and buying process. Would recommend to anyone.
We had been getting the run around from an online estate agent, paying a fee to help us sell our property and then having little to no contact/support at all. We switched to VMH and immediately noticed the difference. You get what you pay for when it comes to estate agents it seems and VMH were excellent.
