Zach at William H Brown was extremely helpful with looking for properties, he did everything he could to find the perfect one for 3 of us to move into. He was great at explaining the specifics about each property I viewed with him, the first one i viewed and loved was unfortunately not available for 3 people, who aren’t related, to move into and Zach was perfect at explaining the reasons why. He made sure to contact me about any other available houses that would be suitable, and even showed me another property that same day. 2 days later Zach contacted me about a property that he thought would work really well for my situation, I viewed the property that day and the landlord accepted us 3 to live there that same day as well. Zach managed to secure me a property in 3 days after the first viewing he showed me, after i’d been looking for 2 months. He has been extremely helpful and honest with information and answered all of our many questions. He made the experience of finally finding a property easy and i’m grateful for that, amazing service, wonderful person.

Had a good experience with WHBrown, but I found out they had ‘lost’ my application on a home that I loved, and it was only noticed after I called everyday to find updates, so that was very disappointing due to the staff member who lost our application. That is the only downside.
However, Harrison was in contact with me after he noticed this and provided 5 star service. He stayed late to help with rewriting my application, spoke to the landlord specifically for me, and provided lots of information, and I was keen to meet him to say thank you. He was very professional and I couldn’t thank him enough, and we finally got the property that we almost lost, we wouldn’t be here without Harrison. Also a thank you to Olivia for originally meeting with us, and also providing information, and I am now settled happily in my home.
WHBrown even provided a gift box with the keys to my new home, which included drinks and some cupboard foods, as well as leaflets for furniture.

Spoke to Liam a couple of weeks ago for quite a while, we were starting a search for a new property. He mentioned I should speak to a north advisor there, but having explained I’d had a bad experience with the Diss advisor, I declined. But was going to send me some properties. Week later, called and left a message as I’d had nothing through. No return of call. Called again, spoke to Penny, she had Alex send me some properties immediately which was great. But she talked me into having a call with Giles, their mortgage advisor. I am a lifetime member so agreed to a call Monday 11:30am. Now it’s Tuesday, and no one calls. Very nice staff, don’t return calls.

I was very happy with William H Brown’s services. After I sent an inquiry on a flat, Zach called me back almost immediately. When it became apparent that the flat in question wouldn’t work for me due to its no-pets policy, he told me about some other properties that might meet my needs, one of which I was able to view later that day and would, in fact, eventually move into.
I visited the William H Brown office a handful of times throughout the renting process. In each instance, I was impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of every individual I encountered.
In short, contacting William H Brown connected me with helpful, nice, knowledgeable people who got me into a place I like. I couldn’t ask for much more from a letting agency.

genuinely one of the worst experiences I have ever had renting with this company. if you are a student/young person under 25, STEER CLEAR!!! They do not respect young people at all, they will talk down to you and treat you like you know nothing at all. They have been fully aware that all year long, my landlord has been neglecting all responsibilities, including removing fire hazards!! Despite knowing this, they do absolutely nothing. On top of this, they breached my contract multiple times by allowing viewings to take place without my consent or written confirmation of the appointment. Every single time I have had an issue to report, I have been completely patronised by either Fabio or Ethan. They seem to have some kind of authority complex, as if they don't like the way you raise issues with them, they are happy to completely screw you over when it comes to landlord communication. The same is true for John, as I have heard from local peers that rent with this agency. They all need to either seek a new profession, or learn to separate their emotions from the job. They are estate agents, not gatekeepers!!! Disgusting service from all 3 of them.

Very bad experience. Applied to numerous properties - NOT even once they contacted back to say it's been let agreed, DIDN'T offer to register interest or anything like that at all! Thankfully, I read about then on norwich reddit group and decided to avoid like a plague. You'll probably see a reply to this message saying (in automated AI voice) : "we're sorry yada-yada, write to our email .." - this just confirms they want you to put extra effort as they want to do the bare minimum and cant be bothered to improve service for years. Not even once I've seen genuine reply from the agency... their bot is replying for the sake of boosting their google page SEO... read about this agency on local group and you'll understand why it's worth looking elsewhere

Went in yesterday to talk about mortgages and to view a house which we both tried to book but due to them wanting to see us first to compare mortgage rates we went in, almost felt impossible to book a viewing without them wanting to see us first to compare. Bearing in mind I called up the day before to see if the viewing was going ahead which they said they will get it sorted. So the day come we go in and no one had any idea of us actually going to view the house!!! Which we was very annoyed about as that's what we booked for in the first place to find out 15 minutes later that the people selling the house had an offer last week and is now processing this!!! Fair enough the guy we spoke to vue phone was on holiday but the communication within the team was very poor! Tried to show us different properties which they said wasn't on the market yet which later we found was... waste of our time and lack of communication!!!!

Very disappointed! We found a property advertised on Rightmove that needed a fair amount of work and we thought that was reflected on the price it was advertised at and was one of the few properties that was in our budget. I phoned them up to book a viewing ASAP and I was asked a lot of standard questions and they were helpful on the phone. But somehow the agent on the phone failed to know that the property was auction but was NOT advertised anywhere as an auction property. We are absolutely gutted and are back to square one.

Join a tenant's union and read up on tenant's rights before renting from this hopeless company. Norwich branch dreadful. Absolutely incompetent company, palmed our renting off to the hopeless 'Sequence' sub-company. Took two months to return the non-disputed portion of our deposit due to their shocking incompetence. Would give zero stars if I could, it takes a lot to bring the good name of estate agents into disrepute, but they managed it.

Serious problems with communication, genuinely every time I have to contact them I have to chase and chase and then they still get it wrong, it’s majorly stressful and I actually dread having to contact them. If I could rent my house through another agency I would.

We had our viewing with Brian, he showed up late and had conflict with the tenants after they said they were not notified viewings were taking place. After the viewing, he slagged off the current tenants to us and asked for our phones for him to write a 5 star review (that this previously was) because the lads at his office were doing a competition for who could get the most positive reviews.

I am so disappointed with the agent I think his name was Zachary Robertson of this company. Total discrimination. we were invited to an inspection to rent a house. The agent greeted us by saying: you have 2 minutes to look at the house because I don't have time. We looked at the house so quickly and said we loved it. He realized that we were not English, and the form he had prepared for us, he simply put it in his bag. said to call the office and have them send us an online form. The agent from the office was surprised why we didn't fill it out on the spot and asked us to wait while he talked to him. After which he said that he could not send us an online form and would put us on a waiting list. when we arranged the viewing appointment we were asked if we have good credit history can we provide guarantors all the answers were YES WE WILL PROVIDE EVERYTHING YOU REQUEST AT THE APPOINTMENT. I will not leave it like that, I will seek my rights, because three working people we wasted time and money with you, as well as the feeling that you are discriminated because you are a foreigner.

Norwich Branch - I wanted to purchase a mixed residental and commercial property that had failed to sell at the previous actions, I approach the department and asked if the owners would consider a private sale.
I was instructed that if I viewed the property and gave the owners agreed price it wouldn't go to another action as once in action it can't be removed......I was given 4 working days and 1 weekend so we drove 135miles - B&B, viewed and offerd the price we were told the owners wanted with 3 day's to spare - to be told we had three weeks to secure funds, arrange a mortgage and give the owners full assurity the money was ready or it will still go to action but I COULD BE REMOVED AT ANY TIME... false hope and all the want is commission

Unprofessionalism and bad costumer service is a seed to be eradicated and unfortunately is not tackled enough, this branch is the perfect example. No care, no professionalism, and no service.
It is a shame!
I showed up to an appointment for the second time to view a property and they stood me up, the first time they didn’t have the right keys. This time I called them and the person on the phone lied through their teeth saying that the agent was coming, then I said I have another appointment and they finally told the truth, nobody had left yet and it would take them 20 minutes to arrive on top of the already delayed appointment.
I will post a message sent from them with the time of the appointment and confirmation if they deny this.

The Letting department is one of the worst agencies I have ever come across. My student son was looking for Accomadation and they just treated him like a money bank and many of his friends as well that we’re looking. There hard cell tactics and fear. Mongering was unprecedented Against young students. I would encourage any parents or students looking to rent to avoid this agency and the other branch as they feel that is acceptable to bully students and to lie about properties. Even complaining to the manager did nothing as he was just as bad as the rest of his bunch.

Absolutely shambolic letting agent. Especially for student lets where they seem to try and take advantage of students by not carrying out their own checks before handing over a property. So conviently combined with an inept property management company in Sequence homes who will pass blame to each other whenever there's a problem that needs fixing. A real shame that they have a lot of student lets so are left with no choice but to use their subpar service. I would give 0 stars if I could. Students be aware and be ready to be taken advantage of.

William H Brown at First were a fantastic company, very welcoming and friendly to first time renters, they took our deposit and all of our information / ID / Guarantors Info and confirmed that myself and my partner had nothing left to pay for or sign In July, which we thought was absolutely fantastic.
It was only when my partner started to worry that we haven't heard anything from them since July, and it was a week away from the move, in September we decided to give them a call, over a two day period we spoke to 3 different staff members who all said separate things.
Staff 1 - Still had over £1000+ left to pay and that they had lost our IDs and proof of residence and also our guarantor information wasn't correct
Staff 2 - No Money left to pay, However was still missing our IDs and some guarantor information wasn't correct
Staff 3 - No payment needed, All guarantor information was Correct, However didn't have Proof of residence and an ID
After Heading into the store and speaking about this matter, i discovered that, We had paid all of the necessary payment up front, And that they were indeed only missing two pieces of information, i am very grateful to them for sorting this on the day, however it had been a full two months of no contact with us being under the influence of having everything completed, and its totally unacceptable to not tell your tenants you are missing information 3 DAYS BEFORE THEY MOVE IN!.
We Also discovered on the day of the move in that the property had not been cleaned, either by the previous tenant or the landlords, after 2 and a half hours of cleaning taking us till 6:30pm we finally got into our property and started to unpack, this is where we discovered most of the Items within the property were not useable, Lights, no bulbs, TV No cables and no remote, (Bought these personally only to discover that the TV doesn't work anyway), Microwave had completed melted on the top making it unsafe to use, as well as not having a kettle or Toaster at the property.

Horrendous! Greeted by an extremely unhelpful and unapologetic member of the sales team. Were told by the letting agent that we were able to pick up a set of keys to move into a rental property and we could pick these keys up any time that the branch was open. On arriving at the agent, a member of the sales team said he was unable to access their database, there is nobody from the lettings team in and that’s the end of it. We had travelled a fair distance with all our belongings. We were then told the we were given the wrong information as we could not be given the keys without a member of the lettings team being present. Is it that difficult William H Brown to be clear about how a move in can happen and is also that difficult for your staff to at least make some attempt to resolve the situation as opposed to saying, “I’m on the sales team so I can’t help”. Estate agents have a poor reputation at the best of times and William H Brown are adding fuel to the fire. If possible I would avoid this agency at all costs.

First issue arose when agent at the end mentioned they would be more likely to accept our application if we were willing to pay 3-6 months rent in advance on top of our deposit?? No other estate agent asked this of us.
We still submitted an application to rent the property and we didn’t hear back from them for over 6 weeks. Pretty shoddy.

He took the time to sit with me and listen to what I was looking for and then found me my dream place. The rental market in Norwich is brutal at the moment - I've never seen anything like it. Properties are taken before they're even put online, and those that are put on websites have a fully booked waiting list within the hour sometimes. If I could rate higher I would, but 5 stars is the limit. Before going to William H Brown for a mortgage appointment my partner and I already had one in principle. It was a high interest rate with 15% deposit.
But after speaking to Sarah Alison at William H Brown we were left with amazing news that we could have one with 10% deposit and a low rate.
It opened so many doors for us, I’m now 4 days into being in my very own house. All thanks to the efforts of Sarah, not only did she do an amazing job professionally. She’s also a very lovely and polite lady, she made you feel welcome and made the scary things not so scary.

My parents-in-law are selling their retirement flat through William H Brown Bank Plain.
The service has been remarkably poor, since going on the market they have had one viewing in over 4 months. We accept that the property may not be the easiest to sell due to the limited market. However, the lack of their industry knowledge is very apparent. It took my wife to advise them that the price may need to be changed, as it fell between two price categories and therefore won’t show on certain searches.
We asked them to change the description to show that the kitchen and bathroom were installed within the last year, it took them over a week to update the info. Surely this should have been on from day dot when they visited to do a valuation as most of the retirement flats don’t have this.
For the last two months we have been waiting for them to update Rightmove to show the property is chain free, they still haven’t. Again something they knew from the outset.
My parents-in-law are tied into a 6 month contract! Something that wasn’t made clear to them when they signed. We are currently selling our own home and the contact was only 12 weeks and our fees are less yet our home is nearly three times the value!!
Having spoken to them they are holding us to the 6 months despite their failings. I feel that morally this is totally unacceptable and I hope they don’t do this to all older customers selling retirement flats!
The communication has been awful as not once have they called to see what can be done to speed up selling the property, the whole point of an estate agent surely! They clearly just sit and hope someone comes along, they don’t show any pro-activeness in getting a sale.

The following is what I have received from the staff here:
-An apprentice called Rory, who was proud of his work but incredibly rude and unprofessional, he never picked up his phone or got back to me even though he said he would.
-He forced me to find 8 individual people as guarantors since his answer on guarantor requirements changed every single time, alongside that himself and the manager Luke did not believe that I had a brother that existed or that my father had died, even though they were told from the start we were ready to show proof for this, they weren't interested nor did they care.
-I was also told by Rory a month before moving in that everything was sorted, only to find out on our "move in date" that nothing was done legally ,meaning that we had to pay for two houses since our move in date was pushed back.
Through a time of grief the member Rory was an actual child who acted with zero care or responsibility, and that through my time of grief he refused to take his job seriously, I believe it's easier for teenagers like him to show off and be proud of their job instead of doing it by earning it.
-A "manager" who refused to look into this even though he was contacted directly, who also presented little care or refused to give solutions, honestly I don't understand how this man was allowed this position in the first place.
The only staff member who was an absolute delight was Brian. He noticed everything that had gone wrong, and immediately put on a friendly smile, explained everything directly to us and helped with all the problems we had. He immediately put out flames in 24 hours that Rory and the "manager" couldn't do in a month, where they were simply making us chase our own tail in the month of grief instead of explaining anything to us. I don't understand how Brian wasn't made the manager since in our experience he is the only person that kept this agency afloat. I hope he gets the recognition he deserves because if I were to go with William H Brown ever again, it will only be through Brian. and nobody else.
I hope Rory learns to grow up and take his job seriously, instead of blowing up his own ego only for it to evidently blow up in his face, furthermore It's upsetting that the manager followed in an apprentice's footsteps in presenting this as well, since after asking our friends who are also agents in Norwich, their face wasn't pleasant when I explained these two names to them.

The method of viewing was top notch and the person showing me the house was very much detailed and answered all of my questions even though my viewing was pushed in the 11th hour as a favor.
I had my dealing with Brian. He did everything out of the way to get a good deal for me. He even convinced the Landlord to give me 50 percent off on the property for the first month.
Brian kept me updated throughout and made sure I was very well satisfied.
Upon my objection on one thing he went an extra mile to go to the property ( after he finished his work!!!) and video call me even when I had seen the house physically.

I am very pleased with my experience with WH Brown whom I used to help let one of the properties I manage. John and his team were immensely helpful and professional. Once a tenant was identified, they were incredibly responsive, even out of office hours and especially during a nationwide lock-down, in order to facilitate the process as quickly and as easily as possible. I would also like to comment that John and his team showed a high level of patience as work needed to be done to the property before letting and they were happy to hold on to the keys and share with builders/workmen when necessary. I also found their fees are reasonable too, and you do not get tied to unexpected contract lengths as I experienced with other Estate Agents. I would definitely recommend and would be happy to work with them again!

Not very impressed by William H Brown as someone looking to rent. Firstly, they wasted my time by showing me the wrong and unsuitable property instead of the one I'd asked to view. Secondly, when I was able to arrange to see the correct place the agent was half an hour late. Thirdly, after applying for the property William H Brown failed to let me know whether I'd been successful or not (there were two other applicants) despite my calling the office a couple of days later asking for an update - the agent managing the property (Brian) was not in and didn't ever call me back.

Dishonest time wasters...don't use!! My husband arranged a viewing on a Saturday afternoon which we managed to fit into our busy schedule. When no one showed up at the house I called and was told the agent was in his way. 15min later I called again as he had still not arrived. I was told they couldn't reach him as he was driving. 10min after that I called again and was told that they had left a message in the morning to cancel as the property had already been let out. There was no message and when I knocked on the door the tenant informed me that all viewings were supposed to have been moved to Monday. Wasted an hour of my Saturday!

After speaking to Billy Bradford about several different properties and then viewing a few he suggested a property that did not tick some of the boxes on our list but it was one that he thought we would like. Needless to say, that's the property we liked and bought. Both Billy and Alex Ramsay (mortgage advisor) were a great help in getting the transaction to happen as smoothly as possible.

Duncan and molly have been great, I recommend if you sell with them to use their knowledge. we are a first time buyer and they have explained everything in detail and made the process understandable. They are a little pushy with the amount of calls they make and voicemails they leave and should be more considerate that people have to work to then be able to pay mortgage and that is the only reason they don't get 5 stars, very happy with their service. Hope to use again in the future.

Disorganised. It is always someone else fault. Never follow things through. Poor customer service both as a tenant and a landlord. Terrible rental experience with them, had to go to the Tenancy Protection Scheme to ensure I got my deposit back. No sign in procedure for keys which they “lost”. Just don’t even think about using them.

Just Terrible - They have been good at finding good renters but absolutely terrible at actually managing our property. Their Statements are terrible. Their ability to organize a gas certificate terrible. Update and owner mailing address terrible. Legionnaire test terrible. Inspections terrible. Track rent payments terrible. Communication nonexistent. Run away now before they fail.

Absolutely do not use this company!
My friends and I rented a house from them for a year.
They are terrible with communication. They never told us when the landlord was coming over so we had him showing up at random times (once at 8am on a Sunday). Additionally, they never told us about viewings at our house. They are required to give you notice (at least 24 hours I think) about any house viewings, but we were never told! So we had dozens of students in our house for viewings over Christmas holidays when we weren’t even there!
Also, they never reply to their emails. On two separate occasions, we had been trying to get in touch with one of their members via email for weeks with no reply, and then when we rang up we were told that that employee no longer worked there. Why were we not informed!!?? What a waste of our time!
Additionally, whenever we informed them of anything that needed fixing or replacing (as we were told to let them know) they would take weeks to sort anything out, for us to then be told we had to use their stupid online report which never actually worked.
Also it took them three months to return our deposits.

A bunch of rogues with their own agenda and not the clients interests as a priority when selling your property. They will overvalue your property and be you best mate to get you to sign up. Then, they will let your property go on the market for six months with no or little viewing, then they 'suggest' you to drop the price £40 000 under the asking price. Don't trust them!!! I went with an independent estate agent after William H Brown and made asking price within a month!

Bunch of absolute cowboys. Constant arm twisting and putting words in our mouths trying to get more money out of us while buying a property, extremely rude to us when we pointed out that we had told them on multiple previous occasions that we didn't want to use them for our mortgage and conveyancing but they were still sending us letters saying that we had agreed to this.
They got the job done in the end but you might think that the staff all get paid minimum wage and have to earn commission if they want to eat.

Appallingly rude and unhelpful. I bought a new build flat through them and my flat was uninhabitable after completion. Though that issue was not their fault, they were not interested in being helpful or supportive - considering I was being forced to couchsurf due to not being able to move in. They basically said it's not our problem talk, to your solicitor, and would not give any contact details of the builder. No morality.

Six months after expressing interest to be added to an existing tenancy (and after paying up all the monies, even the surprise ones) they still have not issued us with a new agreement. Incompetent doesn't even begin to describe the quality of service, it is a needless battle to get anything done. If I wasn't as happy with the property and my housemates, I would have gone elsewhere. Deserves zero stars really...

Don't buy or sell through either of the branches in Norwich. The level of communication is terrible. Different people call up from different branches, they don't pass the message on or put anything on their system. One guy called me up and said " you told me last week you had very little interest in your house you have on the market" i told him when we had spoken the house had been on the market for two days and I had never said that....he was so rude The only thing they push is getting you to have a mortage through them, i told the valuer i was not interested in them sorting out a mortage then a few days later i get a call from a lady saying how they could sort out a mortage for me, i said three times very firmly i didn't want them to but she didn't want to give up... They valued our house over a 125k less than the average value we received from 4 agents...... We were trying to buy a house through them, if it wasn't for the fact we had the owners email we would never have had any thing sorted. We lost the sale but only heard from the owner of the house even though he said the agents should have told me on the Friday.

AVOID!! We called asking to view a property and were told we couldn't view it for 2 weeks...unless we had a valuation with them and then miraculously they could fit us in 2 days later. When questioned why we couldn't just have that same slot got fed a load of excuses. They were essentially trying to blackmail us into getting a valuation with them. Try to flog you everything under the sun, mortgage people, valuations etc and don't stop hounding you with properties that don't even fit what you're looking for. Make it really difficult to deal with them! Would never sell my house with them and preferably never have to deal with them again, the fact we were calling to try and view a house we were really interested in and they were in absolutely no rush to get us to see it, would rather just flog us lots of other things instead is absolutely shocking, no doubt the seller would've been horrified at the fact they were deferring people. Not only that but the day of the viewing we'd finally managed to get, we got a call 2 hours before to tell us it was cancelled as they just sold it. These people well and truly give estate agents a bad name!! It's a shame there isn't a rating lower than a 1!

Dreadful people, seriously, run a mile! I gave them my details when I wanted to view one of their properties. Never, ever give them your phone number! They have called non stop ever since, asking me to call and sell my property with them. I told them numerous times, to stop calling and remove my details from their database which they assured me they would. Well, they didn't. The calls kept coming. And coming. I stopped answering my phone but that didn't stop them. They left messages. Lots of messages. So I changed my voicemail message to say please leave a message unless you're William H Brown in which case don't as I've told you lots of times to stop calling me. The messages stopped for a while, so I removed the recorded message. And guess what? Still they're calling to leave me messages! Save yourself the bother and sell your house with eMoov for £560 which is what I have just done.

My kitchen flooded in February 2017. After contacting William H Brown, they finally agreed to send out an emergency plumber after I stated I couldn't go an entire week-end without water. A huge amount of waste water had leaked under all my cabinet and started to make them rot. I kept contacting them to get the damage repaired but to no avail as the members of the property management team kept quitting and no one took over where the last one
had left off. So after months of calls, someone finally came out to repair the damp damage today! 6 months later!! (2/August/2017) And found that the initial repaire job wasn't done properly and everything has rotten through! It's disgusting that they would rent properties in this condition! If I wasn't 8 1/2 months pregnant I would move out! Shameful service!!!

Terrible service based on total lies. Claimed to be doing so much but simple checks revealed that they were doing nothing. Lied about advertising that they never did, surveys they never did and falsified viewings to retain business but they were fictitious. Avoid at all costs for both letting and sales.

It was agreed with the landlady via these people that we had the house after we views & put in our application. We paid the fees over the phone as they requested to reserve the house. We handed our notice in at our current house. Then they completely ignored our calls/emails and we eventually found out that they had given the house to someone else! And hadn't told us! Absolutely disgusting! Complained in writing and was ignored. Disgusting excuse for a letting agency. Please don't rent through them, it's not worth the heart ache!

Every time I call them, they try and get me to come in and talk to "Molly" about a mortgage. Even though I say no every time, they still ask again and again. This company puts the HARD into hard sell. Anyone without a strong mind would just succumb. If I could buy the property through another estate agent, I would! - Unthank road branch is fine by the way, its only this branch that has a big problem

Where do we start? We started letting a student property in September 2016, prior to this we had to get guarantors etc. My dad had previously started a new job and was still on probation but had been in his job before that for over 10 years. We phoned both landlord and William H Brown to see if this would be okay and they said yes. Then we get a phone call weeks later saying our application hasn't been processed because my one was unacceptable and I'd have to pay another £96 to get another guarantor. Both me and my dad phoned and explained how we'd been told this was okay and they said there was a miscommunication and not to worry. A year on and we're now at the stage where we decide if we want to stay on for our last year at University at the property or look elsewhere. We were told we should have received a letter which we sign if we want to stay. We didn't receive such thing and a sign went up outside the house without us having any input, but either way we decided we wanted to stay as it would be easier and phoned the branch day after day and we just kept getting 'we'll ring you back' with no call back or 'we need to talk to your landlord'. 3 months on and this was still the response we were getting. We phoned management, the branch and we even went in physically and were turned away and told to ring up which got us nowhere as we just got told things we already knew such as 'the property is being remarketed' which we sort of gathered by the big sign outside our house and the house viewings we were receiving. So we gave up and decided we no longer want to live here because it's been nothing but stress and then was finally phoned by our actual landlord saying they had been waiting for us to call with a decision. Over 3 months this had been going on. For our landlord not to know we've been trying to contact her means William H Brown must have not bothered phoning her for us as requested many times and told they were going to do. This is the worst customer service me and my housemates have ever received and are now looking for new properties so we do not have to deal with all of this again.

Diabolical is the only word I can use to describe this estate agent, they do not have a clue what customer service means. Would highly recommend using any other estate agent, rather than William H. Brown. The whole attitude with them seems to be we will get round to it sometime never.

An incredibly poor service. As a current William H Brown customer from another lettings, we were appalled at the service we are offered for looking for a new house closer to Norwich. A very brash telephone call with no wish to listen to our requirements or budget. To top it off , we refuse to justify £500 in lettings fees quoted , for a poor service. Four attempts to write their contract correctly in the DISS branch, and rude abrupt service in Norwich Branch. Not impressed. Avoid. There are far better agents with respect for their customers and who get things right first time round. Such a shame, you should value your customers more.

Almost impossible to arrange a viewing with them, they can't find the houses they have listed. The one time time they arranged a viewing for us they first cancelled it because they forgot to tell the vendor, rescheduled and failed a second time because they forgot their keys. They only told us last minute when we were either at or on our way to the property. The woman responsible hardly apologized but blamed a colleague over and over. Awful, awful, awful. I don't understand how they can stay in business.

My housemates and I have had nightmarish experiences with this horrible company already and the tenancy hasn't even started. Their incompetence and laziness is defiantly not worth the £90 admin fee. We paid what we thought was the admin fee and deposit, a rather large sum compared to previous student accommodation. Nine months later we receive a phone call out of the blue informing us we need to pay a very hefty deposit by the very next day at the latest, they never so much as emailed us before hand, a lot of people don't have that kind of money lying around. I can't believe we're stuck with these people for an entire year.
Edit: Year later and the tenancy is over. It's been two months of chasing, back and fourth, emails and calls. STILL don't have our deposits back.

Awful, hopeless , like other reviewers I think they are quite frankly dishonest.
Sellers beware. They do not have your interests at hear. Refused to let me see a property, told me it was under offer. I then told them I had contacted the owner who told me it definitely was available. Finally got to see the property - guess what 4 out of 5 bedrooms were locked and they claimed they did not have keys!

If I could rate them 0 I really would. From wrong names on the contracts, to pages of the contract being left off and us being called in to sign them at our own incomvenience as if it was our fault, people make mistakes but at least admit it and apologise. The list of these little things goes on and on but I simply don't have any more time to waste on them. Most disgustingly two different people at the branch told me getting out of my contract was simple and free since I had found a remnant to replace me, only to find out it's really £210. As far as I am concerned that is a verbal contract and many places (even the Apple Store) honour quoted prices (or lack thereof). William H Brown don't. The area manager confirms that these fees do need to be payed. I agree in normal circumstances but the amount of missinformation and hassle they have told and caused in my opinion entitles me to a discount at least! Me and my housemates combined have spent at least a working days worth of time chasing them down due to their lack of organisation. Where is my money for that? I had heard they were terrible but I went with them in order to get the beautiful house I wanted . It wasn't worth it. Avoid, avoid AVOID! Look at the other reviews and listen to them unlike I did! Don't bother.

Not good - unprofessional and unreliable over the phone & either arrogant or perhaps just a bit stupid?Either way they seem to be the old cliche of shady,untrustworthy estate agents who give bad service,but will ask a shed load of money in return. I think if you were a tenant or a landlord with these clowns,you'd be signing up to a serious case of being royally mugged off!
Glad I read these reviews before I took my business further here.I dodged a bullet I think.There are agents of far higher calibre in the Norwich / Norfolk area.I'll be much better off with a better quality of agent than this 3rd rate lot.

We recently sold our property with the Bank Plain branch of W H Brown which was achieved within the stipulated 5 month contract period. After a few initial issues with photographs and floor plans which we had to resolve in person at the branch, we were immediately sent viewings; we received regular feedback from these which was really helpful. We finally dealt with Andrew Wilson who was excellent in negotiating the best sale price for our property, continuously keeping us updated and informed of progress; nothing was too much trouble for him.
