I was told the auction pack was £65 +vat.and then to be charged £445+vat. Massive difference and the valuer who gave me this wrong information has now left the company. I called her a couple of weeks before she left and was told by her that they would cover it. And now it has to be paid by us. Would never use this company again

When we decided to sell our family home there was no question to which estate agents we was going to use , WHBrowns Thorne as we had dealt with them before on a family property .
Well this time with our own property it was no differant , Katie & her team was AMAZING .
Up for sale , offer in day after over asking price , so professional
Say no more what else could they have done ….. Well they all went above and beyond for us personally . During the sale process my wife’s mam was ill and we was hoping for her to see our new property upon completion , Katie & her team yet again got the whole chain completion done within 8 weeks ( unfortunately not in-time for mam to get to see our new property ) but that said they did everything within their power which we are truly grateful for .

I recently purchased a property through William h brown and can say I wouldn't be sat in it right now if it wasn't for Katie chasing numerous people and hurrying things along , even things which weren't her job but the job of my financial advisor who arranged the mortgage to contact someone in the bank she even did this for me because my advisor said it's not his job to sort and she knocked another long wait off the completion date . Would highly recommend this branch to anyone !

Could not recommend William H Brown at Thorne enough.
Our initial chat with Harley about our budget and what we could afford was really helpful and informative to know what houses we could be looking at.
Becca came and did our valuation and completed our paperwork.
Meg took over and has been our point of contact through the rest of the process. She has been amazing at keeping us up to date with viewings, offers etc. and was so reassuring and supportive when I found it all overwhelming.
Unfortunately our sale fell through (on a Monday) through no fault of the agents, the house was back on the market the next day and it was sold again by the end of the day Wednesday.
Meg's incredible work on our house re-sale has saved our onward purchase and we are so grateful.
Katie has kept tabs on our sale throughout and made sure her team have been giving us amazing customer service.
Oliver has also given 100% when dealing with us.
All in all they have made a stressful massive life change, so much easier.

Selling a house is such an eventful and large part of our lives. Instilling our trust that someone takes pride and care in making our sale happen is top priority. That’s why I went to William H Brown in Thorne.
It all started with Katie - the big boss lady. From our very first call I just knew she could do the job for me. Her subtle, discreet aura, yet with a strong, assertive husky voice, only superseded by Morgan Freeman. She really knows how to run the show, like a cross between P. T Barnum and a dominatrix. This girl knows what she’s doing and could teach me a thing or two (hopefully).
Then there’s Becca, the negotiator. I knew from the first time we met we were meant to be (professionally of course). The first time I smelt her hair as she walked past me I knew this girl could make this sale. What man, woman or toaster/non binary/non human/cat could resist. I’m not sure what I am in this line up, but I couldn’t resist and knew her cute feet would walk us straight to success.
Then there’s Oliver, The Admin Man. If you want an English gent to charm any obstacle, then there he is. He’s irresistible. Tap, tap tapping away at that key board, keeping all in check with his fileafax. BANG, the job is done. Just don’t send your wife in alone!
Megan, our customer service girl. My faith in Megan knowing that she will caress any issue a buyer may have had. I myself have some issues she may be able to caress, however these can wait for another time and did not affect my sale. Albeit another one of ‘Browns’ charming people pleasers.
I somewhat feel saddened that I sold my investment now as I feel that I built a real bond with the team. Sporadically I watch them through the window, remembering the good times we had together and crying into my Greg’s sausage roll wrapper. As soon as my relatives die and leave me some property, my first call will definitely be to William H Brown! 5*

She’s chased our buyers incompetent solicitors and our estate agent until they were fed up of hearing from her I’m sure but she wanted to get the job done. 6 long months it’s taken but I’m sure it would have been longer without Megan. From initial enquiries and valuation right up to completion and moving day, the service provided by William H Brown at Thorne could not be faulted.
Rebecca Bradshaw attended for initial valuation and provided us with an honest valuation which we were very happy with. We did not feel the need to go elsewhere as the valuation was in line with what we had thought anyway.
We went to sale straight away and she provided us with regular updates and was always mindful of our busy schedules when arranging viewings.
Once we accepted an offer on our property, Rebecca and Katie went over and above to help us find our dream home which we moved into in the last two weeks. They provided constant updates and listened to my regular panics and moans via phone, this being the first time we have ever sold a home.
When sorting the mortgage out, Harley Banks was brilliant, he found us the best deal and also listened to my regular worries, and answered my endless emails.
Also to mention, Megan and Oliver at the Thorne Branch were very knowledgeable when I called and were always friendly and willing to help.
Hands down, the best service throughout and we would 100% recommend this branch to anyone we know. They all made a very stressful process more manageable.

My wife and I have bought and sold numerous properties over the last thirty-five years, and have had good and bad experiences with estate agents - THIS WAS ONE OF THE VERY BEST!! The property I was selling belonged to my mother, and was the house I was born in, so the entire process was emotionally fraught, but Katie and her staff couldn't have done more to make it a pleasant experience. Katie herself did the original valuation on a cold, foggy morning in January 2022, and we completed this morning (May 27) using the modern method of auction, throughout that time her advice, help and bedside manner have been first class. Her staff have, in turn, followed suit taking any little bump in the road in their stride, being helpful, proactive and pleasant in equal measure - no small thing when I live 200 miles away, and my mother is in care. Professional and personable, I cannot recommend the Thorne branch of William H. Brown highly enough.

Overall their service was so disappointing. All started with a viewing on the house that I put an offer on, they got the price wrong and told me it was 10k less! Every time I called, person in the office knew nothing, told me I'll get a call back but it never happens. I even got messed about at the end when I got the keys to my house already. They were dealing with the previous house owner about the items that were left in the house and were supposed to be collected/ removed. Waited for about 8 weeks for that to be sorted-only to be told they won't deal with this issue and I should contact my solicitor! Solicitor told me that estate agents messed me about and now it's too late to do anything about it. Really not impressed!

I understand it's COVID19 and businesses might struggle. I understand it tends to be busy when people try to book a viewing right after house went up for sale. But having to provide my details 3 times because they were 'lost', having to ring multiple times even though they promised to get in touch with viewing date proposal and then being contacted to provide feedback from viewing which had never taken place as they failed to inform me about it... That was the last straw. I will be very reluctant to get and buy any house advertised by them.

Buying a new house is very intimidating however my experience at William h brown was amazing, stress free and informative. And that was all down to the lovely young lady Skye who helped me through every stage with patience. William h Brown in Thorne are very polite. It's actually my Fiance who has dealt with them. Hope to hear from them soon. Jacob is a very pleasant person, and Skye also.

I had a brilliant experience with William H Brown and couldn’t recommend them enough, I wouldn’t use any other mortgage company, our contact Skye was fantastic, she was extremely helpful and made sure everything ran smoothly! Absolutely disgusting!!! Dont use them at all, communication.is absolute zilch! The house we were selling was due to complete on 7/12/17, we found out on Monday 4/12 that the buyer has withdrawn! Was this info from Browns??? No! From our solicitor, no contact whatsoever from Browns!!! Just do not use them. They sign you up and that is it, after that you will end up doing most of the work yourself and YOU dont get the fee they charge, ovet £1000 for doing nothing! Not a bad thing for them is.it!

Absolutely shocking estate agents. don't use them anyone. My brother had an offer accepted for a property. Now he finds out the accepted higher bids even after his was accepted and the house is gone. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. Glad he isn't buying the rest he's has plans to buy through you cowboys
