Appalling mortgage services, booked an appointment 12th October, confirmed I was still attending on the 10th by phone, I received text confirmation from them on the 11th that the appointment was still going ahead as planned. Only to find that my appointment had been given to someone else when I got there!!!
I left as I didn’t want to sit around for hours. No one has contacted me since for a re appointment, I’ve left 2 messages for Chris to return my call but never responds. Paid for the lifetime mortgage service through William h brown what a waste.

This is the worst estate agent ever. They have had my property for nearly 3 months and not had 1 viewing. They have totally ignored the property and not informed me or given any update on the property. I am highly disappointed at this company . The excuse was They could not get hold of the tenant and not once did they contact me to let me know. Their letting agency have been milking me taking money from the rent for managemnt fees and not doing anything. I only got to know of a damp issue in the house when the sales team went to take pics. I quickly rectified that. When I try to speak to them they keep promising that the manager will call me and never do. This has been the worst experience of my life with an estate agent. The staff in the leetings department have been rude. I am having to subsidise the mortgage because they take out fees withoutbinfiemimg

I am really impressed with the support provided by Megan, she has gone above and beyond answering any questions we've asked. Although the solicitors they use didn't leave a great impression, there communication with us was shocking. A solicitor named Helen Hirst is the only person worth dealing with, she responded to emails and called us back quickly but I wouldn't recommend Gilson and Grey solicitors.

This branch are unable to work with the most simple of instructions and don’t understand why I might be slightly upset and wish to remove my business from them. They were told that they would only get the business on condition that they do not put a for sale sign outside the property. I went away for one night and when I returned, they had ignored my request and put up a sign for all to see. When I told him I wasn’t happy with this and wished to remove my business they advised me I had signed in 20 week contract. I will not be facilitating any viewings or should I decide to let somebody come and look around I will tell them that the house is not for sale and explain the reason for this.
I’ve already contacted my solicitor and I’m awaiting a response, Either way, William H Brown of Mexborough will not be selling my house

Recently a new home owner on a shared ownership property thanks to the work from Megan Cooper.
Her service and communication really helped moved the whole process along and even through some complications, she made sure to understand each parties concerns and link back to find a resolve.
Megan's services alone deserve a 5 star review, though the only reason I'd lower this is that within the Willam H Brown at Mexborough only Megan is equipped with the understanding of how to handle shared ownership purchases. So during times where holidays or being out of the office we're involved, trying to get updates and communication did see an impact.

We confirmed a rental property viewing for a certain date over the phone and then didn’t get a confirmation email, which we thought was a little strange but not the end of the world. I then was called a few days earlier and missed the call (they didn’t then call my partner who they also had the number for), the voicemail was really muffled so couldn’t tell what it said and they didn’t leave a number to call back, and every time we did try to call back no one answered.
We showed up for a rental viewing today and no one was there. When we tried to call to see why, the calls kept going to the sales department once again and we couldn’t get through to the leggings department to see what’s going on.
Really bad communication all round, I imagine they set it for the wrong date or didn’t set the viewing at all as we didn’t get a confirmation email.

Great communication throughout the process from the whole team. From start to finish, we experienced nothing but excellent customer service. If I had to make any criticism, it’s that the Lawyers they recommended were absolutely atrocious. Should the need arise though, I would have no hesitation used William H Brown again, but not their Lawyers!

The fee's reflected on GetAgent wasn't accurate, but was in our favour thankfully. In terms on on-boarding it was an accurate valuation, and I was able to negotiate the end fee as I felt it was a reasonably easy property to dispose of due to the location. The advert had a number of grammatical errors which I needed to address, but they had a process in place for getting that up quickly.
Communication once the property was advertised wasn't great, and I felt they lacked providing reassurance at what was a very stressful time - needing to sell my home having purchased a new one. An example of that would be the phone ringing out at times, or indeed going to voicemail, and those calls not being returned. The manager could be quite snappy at times too, and I felt she needed careful handling, which again didn't provide me confidence. Towards the end when I was chasing the final sale progress I was told in so many words 'get a grip, I'm not your solicitor, you should have gone with ours if you wanted updates' which wasn't useful. This is in comparison to the estate agent I was purchasing from, who was bending over backwards to have my questions answered, and dropping solicitors informal emails. The customer service wasn't always professional.
For the fee, you get a well-known High Street estate agent, with the knowledge and skills to sell your property, but I just feel the reassurance aspect would have helped my experience. I hope this feedback was useful, and would like to thank you for selling my home.

Terrible service. William H Brown took over the sale of the house I'm a current tenant in. They promised they would accompany any potential buyers. They have been no where near. Arranging viewings for people to come view the house after closing so when potential buyers do not turn up we got no one to ring as the office is shut. The staff also think its acceptable to lie to the landlord about tenants and be extremely rude. A sales assistant called Sam. Disgusting behaviour from such a professional estate agents.

William H Brown have a strong presence in the area of the property I was selling which is why I chose them. It didn't take too long for a buyer to come forward and after that things progressed pretty quickly.
Everyone I dealt with at William H Brown Mexborough was professional, helpful and friendly, ironing out any concerns that I might have had about a couple of things and generally making sure that the process ticked along well.
I did feel that they could have contacted me a bit more during the 'solicitor' stage just to see how things were as it did go a bit quiet for a while, which is the only reason I've not given the full 5 stars.

Please do not use this company if your selling your house they will come and value your house at a high good price then when somebody views they call you and lie to lower the price but as I wasn't in a hurry I left it at their value and got it then money is put in their account for interest

Initial work was fantastic! Honest and reasonable sales and the house had a buyer before it went on the market due to their knowledge of the local area.
Used their Home Property Lawyers - disorganised, slow and not really pushing for the sale to occur as quickly as I had asked. The 'enquiries' seemed to be raised one at a time and they 'weren't allowed to advise me' at any point. Talking to other buyers this might be across the board.
No contact whatsoever with William Brown after that except for a very unprofessional incident where my buyer was being encouraged to cease his sale and go with them as 'I would be very understanding'. I wasn't. In the end because my buyer was so dynamic we communicated between ourselves and had to push at every point. Fortunately we love our new house and they have breathed life into our old one, and I will never do the process again!

Really good experience of using William H Brown. They found me a buyer before my house even went on the market with them. I also used their conveyancers, which meant I could drop all paperwork off at their offices. There was always someone to talk to and they responded quickly to emails.

I was terribly let down as a first time buyer. My mortgage advisor gave me false information. Despite claiming that my mortgage was mis-sold to me they deny this and have made no attempts to deliver good customer service or any good will gestures to help me in the awful situation they've left me in.

Terrible service from this place. They promise the earth, get your house up for sale and then leave you to it like they're not bothered. Didn't get us many viewings, house is now stc but every time we ring to find out why there's a delay we get fobbed off with different stories. We have had more contact from the estate agents we are buying through to be quite honest. This lot are completely unprofessional and unbothered and if we managed to get moved at all it will be a miracle and no thanks to any work on their part.
